Learning the Chart ( Brief )

This is a brief blog discussing how a beginner can look at their chart and charts of other people. I strongly recommend looking and learning your chart before moving on to other people. Sometimes it seems hard that way, but only you know yourself. You can have good guesses for other people, but it is easy to generalize.
When first learning astrology, look at your own chart first. First look at all your planets and what signs they are in. There is the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, etc etc. Dissect the planet, what it means and apply it to the sign. ( Example: Mercury in Libra; Mercury is the planet of communication, short travels and writing and Libra is eloquent, communicative, intellectual, just, fair, etc etc. For example, someone with Mercury in Libra’s communication style is fair, sociable, tactful, and eloquent. This is modified for the house the planet falls in, but that is the next step ).
Once you get all your signs, do your research and all that, you then see what planets fall into which house. There are 12 houses, with different meanings. If you want more info, there are lots of good resources when you do a google search. Also, I have some blogs from way back when if you check out my Archives. For example; Let’s say someone has Aries Mars in the 1st house. An Aries Mars person is blunt, quick to anger ( but quick to forget ), rash, impulsive, yet brave, quick to react, a doer, and someone who is driven to succeed. In the 1st house, this manifests in a way that is on the forefront of their personality. So if you have a Pisces rising, you could be a quiet individual who has creative tendencies, but is also a doer, quick-tempered, impulsive, and/or occasionally rude, not thinking about other people.
Someone may have an Aquarius Venus in the 8th house. Now this might seem like two conflicting areas. Aquarius Venus is usually seen as someone who has a love life that is freedom loving, yet committed when the find the right one. They may not be into gushy feelings or may even be seen as asexual, or not interested in sex, more so the intellectual trappings of the relationship. They value friendship highly. Unless they are really into someone, they do not mind just being friends and can be weirded out when a friend likes them more than as a friend. In the 8th house this is modified quite a bit; the 8th house is Scorpio’s house. It deals with secrets( both good and bad ), sexuality, taboos, other people’s moneys, and the dark side of our emotions/psychology. Someone with an Aquarius Venus in this house might not always fit the textbook Aquarius Venus description. They might find that while they value freedom, they also value commitment and a deep connection. Others might find there is a conflict in their personal life between personal freedom/independence and the need to connect with others in a deep level. They may have an intellectual interest in sex, and learning about sex and why people are the way they are. I am just using this as an example, because they are two positions that may not seem like they go together ( Aquarius Venus and the 8th house ).
Lastly, you can look at planetary aspects. When I was learning astrology, this was the last thing I looked at. Examples of some aspects are: Sun conj Neptune, Moon square Mars, Mars conj Jupiter, Uranus square Asc, Uranus conj Moon, Mercury conj Neptune, Mercury trine Pluto, Venus sextile Pluto, etc etc. Let’s take the Moon for example: Moon conj Jupiter and Moon conj Pluto can be very very different and someone can even have both in their chart. Moon conj Jupiter is more likely to have optimistic feelings or overbearing feelings, or often feels jovial and kind, or really likes to eat, party and shop. ( Ok, I have Moon square Jupiter, and I like to eat and shop, but we can;t eat and shop too much ). Moon conj Pluto is a person who is very controlling of their emotions, but often these emotions run deep. There are highs and lows in the emotions; often feeling judging, possessive and jealous of friends and boyfriends/girlfriends. They are interested in the dark side of emotions and what makes people tick. They often burn bridges, even when it is not in their best interest. They have good intuition.
Once you gather all of the key items in the chart, you can connect and see the big picture. Often you look at the planet’s sign, house position and aspects to other planets as a big picture/whole.

Mars-Pluto transits

Everyone has at least a few of these in their lives. Some people have this natally. Those who have a Mars-Pluto in their natal chart are often used to the energies and may be able to deal with the transit better than someone who does not.
Mars is the planet of aggression/assertion, physical energy, anger and hostility, warfare, sexuality, what we are attracted to, and how we express our anger. Pluto represents the underworld, death and rebirth, transformation, darkness and the light, inheritances, power struggles, corruption, healing, etc etc.

This isn’t always a pleasant transit. However, the trine and sextile are a little easier to deal with, giving the individual a staying power. They have great control over their desires and drive during this period. Anger is kept under control. They know their objectives and overcome them. There is a great need to finish what is started… a good time to finish projects. A good time to self-heal and heal others. Someone with a trine or sextile could finish a daunting a project that has been going on for some time ( for work or a creative project ). Projects are sought to the end. Another person could begin training for a marathon or an Iron Man, which takes great courage and the tenacity and staying power. Those are just a few examples.
The harsher transits of the conjunction, opposition or square are harder to deal with. Someone with the harsher aspects can still gain some of the benefits of Mars-Pluto, such as the staying power to finish creative projects, or begin training for a marathon or any other strenuous physical athletic event. There is also a change of having a good hold of desires and anger, but when the person does get angry, it’s likely to explode like a volcano. When negative energies are overcome, the person can help heal others, or heal themselves. This can manifest in many ways… by just accepting the past, being a nurse or counselor, helping a friend, etc etc. Mars-Pluto transits… a person learns to be resilient.
When I had a Mars-Pluto transit in late 2009 through Fall 2011, it wasn’t the easiest time for me. My Mars falls into the 1st house natally and Pluto falls into the 8th house natally. I had Mars-Pluto square transit. During that time, I had a relapse of anorexia nervosa and then decided it was all bullshit and decided to heal once again. I also began running, but not training for a marathon. I wanted to live and be healthy, and running was part of my being healthy part, which included some weight gain. I also lost my virginity. When I lost my virginity, it was like a murder scene and I lost a lot of blood both times, soaking up bath towels. ( Sorry if that was too much info. People lose blood during virginity, but I KNOW mine was a lot of blood and was not normal ).
Sometimes when someone has a harsh transit of Mars and Pluto, there anger is extreme and out of control. They may have issues with violence and hostility. They can be the person DOING the violence OR are the VICTIM of violence.
Some people get into accidents, or are raped, or attacked during these transits, but this is RARE. Usually the ones who are raped or attacked have some negative NATAL Mars-Pluto/Uranus aspects in their charts, or have something else going on in their progressed and/or solar return charts as well. Sometimes the transits are activators of something negative in the natal chart.
In a woman’s chart, this could indicate a rape or an attacker, but it could also represent difficulties in the relationship with the men in her life, mostly the man she’s married or in a relationship with. ( Mars= Men ). However, a woman can still experience Mars-Pluto in her own personality and will, and can experience the healing, determination and vigor that is associated with the transits as well.
For both men and women there may be an increased sex drive during this time. Sex is not just sex and can be more meaningful and powerful. For more corrupted people, this could be an activator for human/sex trafficking and prostitution ( Mars= Sex Pluto= Corruption, the dark ).
Someone i know has Mars in Sagittarius square Pluto in Virgo ( natally ). She was raped by her own step father and became pregnant, all while being only 13 years old. Abortion and shame at church ( Sagittarius ) soon followed. Her step father was a very religious man. To this day it still haunts her. Another person I know has the NATAL Mars square Uranus and has been raped multiple times by multiple unstable men.
That being said, having the natal aspects do not mean you will automatically get raped or attacked, but transits, solar return placements, and/or progressions can be an “activator” for shit to happen. For most women who have Mars-Pluto transit, anything can happen, but it doesn’t mean that she has to live her life in fear. ( Do not want to give anyone the idea ). Everyone;s experience is different and some have more trauma than others.
To Sum It UP: Mars-Pluto ( soft and hard ) transits can bring resilience, a good grip on desires and sex drive, and a leveled anger. Passion is high and a sex drive may be higher than normal, but does not indicate cheating necessarily. Some may have promiscuous tendencies, but again this transit is an activator for that. Other people experience a high level of commitment.
A good time to complete projects. The person sticks it through to the end.
Some things are taken more seriously, such as relationships, physical activity, creative projects, spirituality, and/or work.
Great insight during this time, or paranoia.
There could be accidents, attacks, or rapes, but again, not  the case for many many people.

Venus-Saturn Transits

Venus-Saturn or Saturn-Venus transits can be difficult to deal with at times, but it depends on what your natal chart looks like, what houses these planets are falling in and the rest of what else is going on. Whether its a trine, sextile, conj, square or opposition makes a difference also.
A lot of things can manifest in a Venus-Saturn transit in a person’s life. It isn’t one thing or the other. If you’ve had one of these or are anticipating one of these, some may reflect your life and others will not.
With the harsher aspects and from time to time in the softer aspects there is a sense of loneliness and the fear of abandonment. These are obviously more prominent in those having the more extreme transits, but again can happen time to time in other ones. There be be bouts of depression and anxiety with regards to the love life, or lack there of, or in social settings.
This may be a time where social situations are limited. Sometimes the individual simply wants time away from everyone and this is to their own choosing. They prefer solitude over social dates or parties. Other times it can be against what the person wants, which can lead to depression and a general feeling bad about yourself. Sometimes it seems like friendship and love are denied to that person at that time.
It could be a time when it’s hard finding that special someone, or you are single for a long period of time. In this time you could be depressed because of the loneliness, and other times ( with the softer aspects, the trine and sextile ) the person makes best use of this solitude to do things that better themselves.
This is also a time where you could meet the person you would have a long term relationship with. It can also be a time where you make that commitment or go to the next level in a relationship you’ve been in for a long time. It can be a good transit to solidify a long term and possibly marriageable relationship.
It can be a time where long term relationships are tested and if they pass, more commitment follows and makes them closer than ever before. In a casual relationship, one of two things happen: 1. There could be a break up or the couple becomes more distance or wants more alone time. 2. Become more committed. Both can happen in the harsher aspects. If you have a soft aspect, it CAN happen that you break up ,but more than likely a casual relationship could go to the next level.
Even in a marriage a person could feel lonely with a harsher transit of Saturn and Venus. There may be times where they feel their husband or wife doesn’t feel the same about them or values other people and things above the marriage. Or committed relationship. ( Could be either one ). Often a marriage or long-standing committed relationship can be tried and tested; there is hard work to keep it going, even though there is great love between the two. The other partner may be working long hours or has to go away for a period of time, like in the military or gets a job overseas temporarily.
This is also a time to take time to save money, or is a time where you do not have many money or material things.
You may change your style or make up or hair during this time to make it more “classic” or “sophisticated.” You may be attracted to older people at this time or those who can help you succeed.
Any NEW relationships during this period are likely to last, perhaps to marriage, unless something is really messed up. They could be with an older person, younger person, or someone who has status, or is stable.
In general, a person with this transit is looking for stability in love life, commitment, and responsibility. They aren’t looking to party at this time or fool around, and it can be hard when everyone else is having fun.

Neighbors and the 3rd house

The 3rd house deals with the mind and early education. It is curiosity and chattering. It represents short-distance travels, like everyday commutes to the store or to the bank, or even to a city within a few hours from you.
It deals with siblings and also neighbors.
I was wondering what house represented neighbors and also if there were differences between neighbors in childhood verses ones in adulthood.
The only reason I discuss this is because I have an annoying neighbor as of current. He is one of those young men that like to think they are “swag.” He loves listening to loud rap music with the bass blaring late at night from 11 pm to 3 am, and sometimes later. I’ve called the police on him multiple times, but sometimes I feel like giving up but other times I just want to scream because I need my sleep too. My life doesn’t revolve around staying up all night and sleeping till noon.
It isn’t necessarily the music that bothers me, but more like the blaring “boom boom boom” bass. You can say “Well talk to him” but anyone who wants to blare music that late at night probably isn’t reasonable in the first place. He look about 20 or 21, and all I have to say is that he thinks he is “swag” and most of you will know what type of person I’m talking about.
Anywho, I tried to see if anything would indicate an annoying neighbor in astrology. I looked to my current transits, as I have the sun and venus currently transiting my 3rd house right now.
However, within the next few weeks I should have Mars transiting my 3rd house, as it’s at the end of the 2nd house right now. I wonder if he will be playing it later in the night because it will be summertime, but I will have a problem with it if I have to be up at 7 am for work.
Venus could indicate I have a superficial and maybe irresponsible neighbor? Jupiter is transiting my 4th house right now. But I can see how Venus transiting my 3rd house could manifest in other ways.
I have Taurus in my 3rd house natally. Your 3rd house represents how YOU act in school, communicate, act at the bank or your little travels, or how you act towards neighbors.
When it comes to all of that, I like quiet and comfort in my own home and I do NOT like loud people. Living in an apartment I do deal with chattering and other sounds from neighbors, but I think that blaring loud rap music late at night is plain rude.
I would like to live in a neighborhood that is slightly upscale ( but not too rich or exclusive ), comfortable and stable. And of course gives me quiet and solitude. So maybe this guy just messes with what I want in a neighborhood?
Just some thoughts.

Astrology and Writing

I have looked in and did some google searching of writers and what in the natal chart could point at writing ability or an interest in writing.
Obviously I like to write. I have written a number of stores/novels since I was twelve years old. ( I have some still and others are lost ). I also like to blog, but when I blog, my writing can become choppy because I write quick.
I have Mercury-Mars trine ( in fire ) and I often think faster than what I type or talk. Sometimes my mind races and I have all these ideas, but I often have problems putting them down on paper. My fifth house falls in the sign of Cancer, which means that writing is a hobby of mine and I express myself better in writing than in speech. ( It’s the truth! ) I have also a Mercury opposed Jupiter, which does indicate a writing ability, but mostly in the realm of adventure stories. Mercury-Jupiter can also indicate a lacking of seeing the details and the writing may lack depth, or the other way it can manifest is the writing can be either too detailed or too vague. I’ve had people tell me both before. In research papers, I’ve had a professor tell me one part of the essay was too vague and then another was too detailed! In the stories I write I find that to be the case sometimes.
Here is what I think in MY chart helps writing ability/interest in writing:
Sagittarius Mercury in the 9th house
Gemini Jupiter in the 3rd house
Mercury conj MC
Mercury trine Mars
Mercury opposed Jupiter
Cancer in the 5th house

When looking at writing, you must first look at Mercury. Any Mercury sign can be good at writing, but the Water Mercury signs ( Scorpio, Pisces and Cancer ) are often the best at writing depth and expressing with the most emotion. My  best friend loves to write and she has Scorpio Mercury in the 10th house; she is very detail oriented and her writing has a great depth and emotional flair. When she writes, the picture is in your mind! Mercuries in Fire are often enthusiastic and funny in writing, but may lack depth or the patience to follow through. Fire Mercuries, esp Sagittarius, are primarily concerned with adventure stories. An Aries Mercury may prefer to write short stories. Mercuries in Earth are precise, logical, and to the point in writing, but may be dry. Writing is best for science or research. Mercuries in Air are good at any form of communication and writing is eloquent and flows well. They can be logical and can make a dry subject seem interesting.
Mercuries in Virgo and/or Gemini are a good sign to have writing ability, because Mercury rules those signs.
Mercury in the 3rd house or 9th house can indicate writing ability. Mercury in the 10th house can indicate a career that involves writing.
Mercury in the 5th house can of course show someone who loves to write. It’s a good indicator of someone who has a hobby of writing.
The ruler of the 3rd house falling into the 5th house is a possibility. That means if Sagittarius is in your 3rd house and then your Jupiter ( its ruling planet ) is in your 5th house.
Aspects to Mercury…. Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, Moon
Mercury in the 1st house… easy for one to communicate, either vocally or in writing.
Any other ideas?
Do you like to write? If so what are some of your placements?

Little Kidz: Pisces moon

Disclaimer: This post is solely based upon the Moon sign. When you read this whether it’s about yourself, your child, or sibling, you will find some to be true and others. That is because I am talking about possible manifestations. Also, it doesn’t take into consideration the rest of the chart, but especially moon placement and aspects.
Enjoy :-)
This is my last one of the “Little Kidz” series.

A Pisces moon child is sweet and caring, at least most of the time. They are very sensitive and get their feelings hurt easily, even if they don’t show it all the time. There is a soft spot inside of them; they care deeply about other people ( that is, until they realize people suck ) and animals ( but mostly animals ). Pisces moon children like to help other children, whether its with school work, cleaning, chores, or simply helping them with a task. This can be similar to the Virgo-ness of a person, but a Pisces does it because they genuinely want to. Not saying a Virgo doesn’t or anything!
Sometimes other kids take advantage of the good naturedness of the Pisces moon children. You may want to watch out for the child if they get bullied, or if another kid takes advantage of the Pisces moon’s kindness. If the Pisces moon is insecure, then it is possible for the child to be a bully himself/herself!
There may be deep rooted insecurities and possible depression, at least in the teen years. But not always. The Pisces moon child is sensitive and gets their feelings hurt, and they like approval from others, but not in the same way Leo moon wants praise and adoration.
Pisces moon children are fond of music and art, or writing, or anything that allows them to release self expression. If they are not good at art, then they certainly love music and/or art.
Pisces moon children can pick up when you are not feeling quite right. They know when something is wrong. They are good listeners.
On the downside, we can see neediness, lack of confidence in some areas, depression, anxiety, restlessness, and a melancholy nature to name a few examples. When the child gets older and enters the teen years, if the moon is afflicted to Neptune or in aspect to Neptune, there could be a tendency to “escape” from everyday life. This could simply be either daydreaming too much, or wallowing in the partying, drug and alcohol lifestyle. There is a gray area, of course.
Pisces moon children have active imaginations and they are creative, whether it be music, art, writing, or poetry. They may like to draw. They like to daydream, but they must set dreams into motion!
A Pisces moon child needs a lot of emotional support, especially when they are feeling down. But when they are feeling up, the support helps keep them grounded. They need someone to be sensitive towards their needs, goals, and wants. They do not want rejection or to be made fun of, but no one does. But these kids especially are scared of criticism, at least till they get older and can learn confidence. They need you to believe in them!

Little Kidz: Aquarius Moon

Disclaimer: This is just based on the Moon sign. You may find that some things I write here apply to you and others do not. That is because we are not looking at entire chart.
Enjoy :-)

An Aquarius moon child is simply unique, perhaps his or her mother made the child out to be “special” as he or she grew up. The child grows up feeling different from everyone else, but they like it! An Aquarius moon child often feels like they are the outsiders, looking in from a 3rd perspective.
You will be surprised at their spoken truth, but it’s not necessarily the same way as an overly blunt, blabber mouth Sagittarius. It’s more like the truth they speak is clear, concise and seems almost adult-like. These children grow up liking science and/or math, or anything that involves innovation and creation. This could range from a space or dinosaur interest to music or art, depending on the kid and the rest of the chart.
These children love to learn; they seek to understand something. Learning comes easily to them, but some of these children may be talkative and do not concentrate well.
An Aquarius moon child can be either an introvert or an extrovert, depending on the rest of the chart. Aquarius is ruled by both Uranus ( can go either way ) and Saturn ( which can be more introverted ).
The child may feel weird sometimes, or may be into things that are considered “weird” for the age range. He/she could be a loner who has all sorts of intriguing interests, or a friendly, yet intellectual kid who hangs out with everyone.
An Aquarius moon child is interested in what is fair and just in society. They may not think things in society are right and will ask you questions why the world is not the way it is supposed to be. They are typically idealists and will grow to be either more realistic or a balance as they grow older.
Aquarius moon children typically enjoy being with other kids, but tire of them quickly and need their space to re-energize, especially if they are naturally introverted.
They need learning and social support from parents and adults in their hobbies and talents. Even if you think its something weird! They need their space and they don’t like being told what to do. Often the child thinks they know more than you. An Aquarius moon child needs freedom; its important to give them choices. A stimulating home environment is a necessity.

The 6th house verses the 12th house: Service

A few weeks ago I mentioned about the 6th house and the 12th house and how both of them have to do with a service. Both houses have a multitude of manifestations, but service is one of them, and a big one at that.

Let’s recap..

The sixth house is about service, pets, food and nutrition, health, details, and routines and rituals, to just name a few. The twelfth house is a difficult concept, but is generally about a service to your fellow human beings, prisons and hospitals, the sick both mentally and physically, dreams, spirituality, your soul, and subconscious. I think it can also represent your fears and failures.

When I think of retail and food joints, I think of the 6th house. When I think of soup kitchens and donating time to the less fortunate, like volunteering at a hospital, I think of the 12th house.

The 6th house is a service you do for yourself, either as a ritual/routine, or for pets,or for co-workers/customers on the job. A good 6th house example is working in retail, like at a grocery store deli, and having to meet the demands of customers and keeping the work area relatively clean. Another example of sixth house is a dental routine or health routine that someone may do an X amount of times a day. Taking care of animals is a 6th house service. Working in healthcare, as a nurse or dietitian, is 6th house.

The 12th house is a service you may do for the greater good for humankind. It is of no benefit to you, but to other people. It is selfless. Volunteering at a soup kitchen JUST because you want to counts as this, NOT if it looks good on a resume. Thats a different story. Volunteering or donating time to the poor, the mentally handicapped, children, and the sick are often issues. A nurse who has a strong deposition to helping the sick ( and I’m talking she really feels for the people and has a personal mission to help the sick ) is a 12th house matter, not a nurse who mainly goes to work for the money and gets patients what they need and in and out. ( Both nurses do a good job though! I am just citing differences ).

Both houses denote a service, but the service is different. We all do a service, whether it’s at work, volunteering, or in our own homes.

Little Kidz: Capricorn moon

A Sagittarius moon child is optimistic and a chatter box. They ask a lot of questions, are opinionated, and are curious.

This is a kid that wants to know why. Why the world works the way it does, and since Sag is ruled by Jupiter, there is a sense of justice within the child. The child may wonder why certain criminals who do bad things are let out of jail, or why any person would want to harm another.

Sagittarius moon, especially in kids, want to have the last word in. They like to let you know where they stand on an issue and can be stubborn, but only when they want to. As stubborn as they can be at times they can also be very flexible.

A Sagittarius moon child likes, above all, to play and have adventures. They may also be impatient and have a fiery temper, so tantrums are something to watch out for on occasion. You may catch him or her trying to ride their bike outside the neighborhood. A Sag moon is always on the looks for adventure or fun; he/she has lots of neighborhood friends that they go on adventures with. Like through the “scary” woods.

My little sister is a Sag moon and as kids, she would play make believe and search the woods behind grandma’s house for a “witch.” or a “monster.” We all knew it was fake but the adventure was fun.

A Sag moon child may lack discipline… may be messy and it is a struggle to get them to clean their room. They also lack attention to detail, unless something else is prominent in their chart, like Virgo in other places, or a 3rd or 6th house emphasis. They have a tendency towards junk food and unhealthy snacks.

To sum it up: A Sagittarius moon child needs their stability with fun, adventure and learning. Their curiosity is high and it is important to keep them stimulated with play and learning. Books are also a good idea to introduce to them. They may not like books right away, but they will soon learn the importance of them.

Little Kids: Sagittarius Moon

A Sagittarius moon child is optimistic and a chatter box. They ask a lot of questions, are opinionated, and are curious.

2013

I hope to write a little in 2013. I plan on finishing the Little Kidz series and I want to write about a few more topics.

However, that being said, I can not guarantee a lot will be written through April, as I will be busy with school. If I have downtime I will be more than happy to write.

I was thinking about my solar return post for this year and I find it to be a little chilling. Maybe it’s just me, and I know things like this are temporary. I have to move away from home for only three months, but it scares the crap out of me. I have SR Uranus in SR 4th house, which means changes in the home during that year. My natal 7th house falls in the SR 4th house and of course paranoid that I am, I get afraid my boyfriend and I will not last during my time. Of course we will see each other weekends and in mid-week. But still. Also, I highly believe 7th house is also about best friends, too, and there might be distance. It might just mean distance. I do feel my boyfriend and I have a strong bond, and we can handle this… Only is for a few months, and it’s not like we will be away and not see each other at all. Some people do not see their significant others for a period of years ( like if one is sent away in the military. That is a common one ).

Anyway, just be patient and continue following my page. I plan on having some interesting things up. And you can shoot me a message on here for any ideas on what to write about. I enjoy researching things, and ideas are always fun.

If you want to send me a private e-mail, you can if you want, but I only answer some of them. It all depends on how in depth the question, my patience, and what is going on in my life. Right now I am busy and haven’t been answering them.
