Putting things into perspective: Venus-Saturn

After my heart felt blog a couple days ago, I had a heart-to-heart with my best friend ( BFF ). We have been friends since August of 1999 when we were two awkward little kids in the elementary school lunch line. So we have built trust and I take her words for wisdom and guidance.

My best friend has a Venus-Saturn conjunction ( in Capricorn ). Her Capricorn Venus falls into her 12H. Yeah, she's what you'd call a late bloomer in love, but she is one of the most rational people I know about these kinds of things. I like to talk to her about the future and of course, boys! Duh! She may have a Venus-Saturn conj in Capricorn but I can still talk to her about love. I think she helps put me into perspective.

I have another good friend with a Venus-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn. All three of us are friends.

I myself have the Venus-Saturn sextile, which I talked about in my previous post as being the rational and stable side to my feelings on love. However, I also have a Venus-Neptune aspect. Out of my Venus-Pluto, Venus-Saturn and Venus-Neptune aspects, the Neptune-Venus one has the tightest orb. Which means it is felt the most intensely out of three with Venus-Saturn and Venus-Pluto following in that order of orb value.

I will say that I have been prone to illusions when it comes to love. It's not THAT bad. The worst that has happened is that I thought I was going to date a guy, but he wasn't what I wanted and I got over it. Period. There are people who are worse than me, dating serial killers, child rapists, or even want to fuck children! I'm not THAT messed up, but having Neptune aspecting your Venus kind of sucks sometimes.

Lately I have a love interest. And of course little me gets overly excited about the prospects of a brand new relationship. This is nothing new. With the previous guy I liked, I got excited too... and nothing happened. But I believe the previous guy was wishy washy and had issues with wanting to be with a bunch of women for ego reasons. Naturally, I got over him. But it took a while...

This new guy shows all the nonverbals of liking me. And being a Venus-Saturn sextile I don't take risks with my heart. I really don't. I asked him to chill with me and go out to eat, but I felt comfortable asking him. I don't take risks unless I know for sure he likes me. And I do want to get to know this guy more to see if he's really good enough for me.

The problem here is my overly excitable Venus-Neptune. I'm dreaming of all these possibilities, but my friend with the Venus-Saturn conjunction helps put things into perspective for me. She doesn't want me to get disappointed, but sometimes I feel it is in my nature to be excited abotu things like this. And it is very exciting indeed. No doubt about that.

My friend told me to take things slow. Do not rush things. You see, I have taken things slow. Sometimes too slow. I don't want to take things too slow, but not too fast either. With this new, I'm being direct, honest, and sensitive. I think those are three traits that will help me win the guy.

Sometimes when you get overly excitable you really need to put things into perspective. It's not really all bad, but it isn't all rainbows and unicorns either. I think I get a reality check. The relationship is very very possible, but I can't ever be 100% sure. You can only hope ( Venus-Neptune ) for the best, but be cautious ( Venus-Saturn ). Do not be overly cautious, though.

Sometimes I do want to take risks with my heart, which is really hard for someone who has a Venus-Saturn aspect. The aspects are stronger in my friends than me, though, since they have the conjunction in Capricorn. My friends typically like very mature men who are a few years their senior. They like their men to be established, practical and career-driven.

I think sometimes I do want to base some choices on fun and emotions, and I want to tell my friends I want to do that. However, I still have the caution sign right next to me. I can't just take risks either.

Self astrology: Venus/Mars and being "lovestruck"

I’m finished with the series I had planned at the beginning of my blog, so I am pleased with myself. I have been for a long time wanting to blog about myself and how I relate myself to astrology. A lot of astrology bloggers to this; I see this in a way as helping people who have a similar aspect as myself. We’re all very similar but different.

My title for today is “lovestruck” because I think that is something recent that has been happening to me. I mean, we’ve all been “lovestruck” before? What is the definition of being “lovestruck?”

From the Urban Dictionary, here is what it means to be lovestruck:

Like struck with a lightening bolt. The second that you see and meet that person you are instantly in love. Head over heels, can’t stop thinking about that person, want to be with that person, hold them hug them, & and be held and hugged and loved by them in return
Thank you person who wrote that from Urban Dictionary! You GET what I’m feeling right now!

To sum that all up, I’m feeling that way over a guy right now. He’s not just any old guy; just my type. Artistic, creative, tall and handsome ( but in a quirky way ). I love his smile and he makes me laugh. No guy has ever made me laugh before quite like him.

Sometimes I think in my head, “I am in love!” But then another more cynical voice comes into my mind, “You’re not in love, you fool. You just want to fuck him.”

Here is where the astrology comes in: I’ve got a Venus-Pluto aspect; both conjunct and chilling in my 8th house. Now I’ve also got a Venus-Saturn sextile with Saturn chillin like a villain in the 10H. My Venus in Scorpio chills in the 8th house along with Pluto. Now with Mars, I have THAT in Aries/1st house and it’s sextile Jupiter; square Neptune, Saturn and Uranus. My Venus and Mars are quincunx, which basically means my sexual style and my love style are kinda in conflict.

I think I’m instantly lovestruck and full of lust ( I will willingly admit that ) because of my Venus-Pluto aspect, not to mention my Venus Scorpio and all that falling into the 8H, which is notorious about sex. When I like a guy, I know so immediately. I am instantly attracted. Or I am instantly repelled. Not any guy will do; he must be up to my standards of hotness and have a personality I like to top it all of. ( Now I’m not going to like a guy anymore if I don’t like his personality, even if he’s cute. Happened before! )

Now there is a trend with men I like. I’m not usually interested in the sporty, jock type guys. Nor am I attracted to overly ambitious, rich men. I’m also not attracted to the “bad boys.” ( Those annoy me. ) However, I’m typically interested in artsy, almost poetic guys. Neptune guys almost. But I also like guys who have the smarts. Smart, artistic, creative, poetic, musical, etc. They are in contrast of my left brained style. I’m turned on by artistic, right brained men.

“I want his ass.” Thoughts I frequently have… my sexual feelings, I do attribute, to my Venus-Pluto and even my Venus-Neptune aspect. My Mars is also in Aries, which I think doesn’t help too much either. I have sexual feelings, feelings that I repress ( Mars square Saturn and Neptune ) but you want it soo so badly. I think I visualize and dream about sex a lot, but never have it actually.

However, there is always that cynical little voice that tells me to slow down. “Slow down, girl. You’re going to freak him the fuck out! Even if he does have ambitions to get laid with you, you don’t want to get hurt. You’re logical and level headed. Don’t lose that shit for one guy!” ( Venus/8H sextile Saturn/10H; Mars/1H square Saturn/10H )

But there is another voice in my head, “Do it! What do you have to lose? You’re craving passion and closeness! Go get it!” ( Venus-Pluto, Venus-Saturn, Mars in Aries, Venus in Scorpio )

Hey, I know it does not sound good about the “voices.” it’s myself telling me this. My mind tells me another thing and my vagina tells me another. What can I say?

I think sometimes Venus-Pluto can be a curse, especially if you have the conjunction. You feel as though you get obsessed. And this obsession is crazy. I always want to be cool-headed and almost icy, but there’s that passion that wants to be let out.

I grew up to be afraid of sex and being sexy. My grandmother told me girls are meant to be “pure” until marriage. I do not personally hold that value, although I do believe both men and women should value their bodies and not fuck with everyone they see. Self-respect.

However, I tell myself not to be afraid of my sexuality. You only hope that your love interest has the same feelings.

This guy and I… we do talk about some offbeat sexual topics though. I wore a semi low cut shirt ( not horrible, but I only have 36B boobs. They’re not huge, but big enough ) and that day he could not look me in the eye. It’s either because of my breasts and he didn’t want to seem creepy, or he was nervous. No lying, because we weren’t talking about anything crazy that day. Just school and shit like that.

Saturn aspects

Saturn is always feared among people, rightfully and wrongfully. It is what keeps us back, restricts us and limits us. Most of the time, though, this manifests internally inside of us. Sometimes we don't get what we want because of our own insecurities, and that is Saturn right there.

However sometimes Saturn does represent forces that you can not always control, too, like your mom being cold and icy, or your dad leaving you when you're little, or being born into poverty. Those things you can not control.

Saturn is also reality. It also represents discipline and what we consider important.

Sun-Saturn, Saturn-Moon, Saturn-Venus, Saturn-Mercury, Saturn-Jupiter, Saturn-Mars.... please see other articles.

Saturn-Uranus aspects: Uranus is change and liberal ideas. Saturn resists change and has more traditional ideas. So can you imagine combining the two? Any of the aspects, whether soft or harsh, indicate someone who can combine the old with the new; all the aspects show someone who can put practical foundations on the new and bizarre. Change must be practical and can be done. They are idealists but not bleeding heart idealists. They are humanitarian, but know what they can realistically do.

These people may be serious about technology or see the importance of technology. Some of these people with these aspects might see the importance of change and progression. Some people with these aspects might see the importance of astrology and practice astrology with a practical approach.

With these aspects there is a healthy dosage of idealism and realism. There is a healthy dose of change and resistance. There is a healthy dose of practicality and intuition.

Depending on the specific aspect you have, the conjunction is the most intense and these "energies" flow smoothly and naturally. The opposition indicates someone who can swing back and forth between both and needs moderation. The square and quincunx indicates a challenge or conflict between the two.

Saturn-Neptune aspects: If you're an artist or a writer or anyone doing anything in the arts, then you want a Saturn-Neptune aspect. Saturn adds structure and practicality to your artsy, idealist, impractical Neptune. It can bring structure and importance to your art work, writing, poetry, and music. If you do any of that, you're serious about it. It is something you highly value.

The arts are not always hailed the best places to get a job and rightfully so. But if you're good enough and talented enough in the arts, you can make a lot of money. Your dreams can come true. But there must be some sort of plan and structure ( Saturn ).

Fantasies and ideals can come true, but with a catch! You must work hard! You won't get that gig at the festival just for kicks and giggles. The town and community must first recognize your band and you must have some sort of talent. That comes with practice and diligence.

This does not generally denote fame, but it can.

Depending the aspects involved with show how the aspects flow. Conjunction, trines and sextiles are harminous and energies flow smoothly and naturally. Oppositions show you bounce back and forth and need a balance. Squares and quincunx show a challenge or conflict.

Saturn-Pluto aspects: Sounds scary, right? Yes, this can indicate someone who is interested in darkness, or is profound. They could have an interest in death and rebirth. Sometimes people with these aspects can be tortured, depressed, or overly intense.

But also there is seriousness to transform their lives. They can transform anything bad or anything limiting into their lives for good. These are maybe the people born into poverty, but have the determination to get out of it. These are the people who you wonder why they never cracked because so much bad happened to them. They are, indeed, resilient, or can be resilient.

Another way this can manifest is someone who does not like others ideas. They like to push their ideas and world view onto other people. ( True with the harsher aspects ). Can indicate narrow mindedness or a world view that is ruled by domination.

"Great power comes with great responsibility." A good motto for these Saturn-Pluto aspects.

Jupiter aspects

JUPITER is the planet of expansion, higher education, philosophy, religion, the higher mind, fortune, fun, happiness, food and drink, parties, amusements, games, ideals, laws, publication and tolerance. It is also associated with foreign cultures and overseas travel.

Jupiter-Saturn aspects: Many astrologers see this as "karmic"; Jupiter is all about moving forward, progressing, having high ideals, and being optimistic. On the other hand, there's Saturn which is all about hard work, discipline, restrictions and obstacles. As you can see, this can be a challenging aspect, but depending on WHICH aspect you have, this can be rewarding as well.

The trines and sextiles are harmonious, indicating that the individual works hard and plays hard. There is generally no conflict involved. It is natural to work hard as the person is generally optimistic and inspired. There are road blocks in everyone's life and these people just see these as new forks in the road to grow and expand.

The conjunction can manifest in the way as above, but it is more intense. And the person will work and play harder with more intensity. The Jupiter-Saturn aspect is more profound and important in their lives.

The harsher aspects are the ones that are more challenging to deal with, but is hardly the end of the world. Harsh aspects are the opposition, square and quincunx. The opposition in particular may indicate someone who swings back and forth between play time and work time, rarely accomplishing anything constructive. The squares and quincunx show a conflict between Jupiter and Saturn; the person is very much capable of hard work and good fortune in his/her life, but sometimes is kept back from environmental forces. One can be having a child too early in life ( like 18 or 19 years old ), being born into poverty ( but is a hard worker and craves the finer things in life and prestige ), or having parents who simply tell you you're not good enough. Anyway, if the person can get over his/her insecurities ( Saturn ), then he/she can work hard and keep on trying until they succeed. Harsh aspects are rewarded also but there is more conflict involved. There is often a stop/go attitude and conflict between working and playing.

Religion wise, there can be skepticism about organized religion, Atheism or Agnosticism. Or the native with Jupiter-Saturn is religious and follows the religion of their culture to maintain social conformity. Can be dogmatic about religion.

Jupiter-Uranus aspects: Challenging aspects and soft aspects are generally both decent. Any Jupiter-Uranus aspect is good for higher education and critical thinking. Uranus allows creativity and intellect to flow through the high ideals of Jupiter. This is a creative aspect; stimulates abstract thinking, open mindedness and tolerance. All good qualities indeed.

One's world view is generally more liberally focused or independent.

There is a possibility of Atheism or Agnosticism with this placement. Another way this can manifest is of a believer ( Christianity, Islam or Judaism ) who is open minded about other religions and does not take their Holy Book word to word. Another way this can manifest is someone being a secular humanist or a deist.

Jupiter-Neptune aspects: Jupiter and Neptune are planets associated with religion and spirituality. There is a possibility that people with these aspects are highly religious in organized religion, but are not dogmatic or dominating about their religion. But they could be prone to fantasies and idealism concerning their religion and not truly seeing it for what it is.

These are highly spiritual people. They are highly intuitive.

Besides organized religion, some people with these aspects could be interested in Eastern religions, like Buddhism or Hinduism. Also, they could be Deists or secular humanists. They might not believe in organized religion at all, preferring to be Agnostic theists.

If a native with these aspects are Atheist or Agnostics leaning Atheist, they still have a creative and intuitive bent. Their beliefs on Atheism are based on feeling; there was a strong feeling in their hearts that a god does not exist. ( Logic can have much to do with it; look at other aspects ).

Besides religion, this is a good placement for artsy and creative endeavors. If you like to write fantasy novels or childrens books, this is the aspect for you. Mercury does rule writing, but Jupiter rules publication.

This aspect is also for people who like to help the unfortunate. They do it not because they want to look good, but because they really do enjoy helping humanity.

Jupiter-Pluto aspects: Whether these people have the harsh aspects or harminous ones, there is a degree of POWER and CHARISMA associated with these aspects. Many politicians and world leaders have Jupiter-Pluto aspects. Also, many famous people have Jupiter-Pluto aspects. On the down side, notorious criminals sometimes have these aspects too. It is what it is.

These people know what they want in life and how to get it. If they fail, they try again until they succeed. Some of them are good at manipulating to get where they want to in life; others are born in fortunate and powerful families. They find their goals in life and path in life as very important. Some people with these aspects who want to be celebrities try and try until someone recognizes them, but there's something about them that catches the eye of Hollywood. Perhaps something that other people do not have: charisma and power.

This is generally a good aspect if you're born poor and you want to move up the social ladder in your career. It gives you the drive and ambition to do it.

These people have a strict world view and philosophy that does not change during their lives. They vote the same way and their beliefs are the same way.

Religion wise, this is very much the case. If they're an Atheist, they're an Atheist. They may be outspoken Atheists. If they're a Believer/Theist, they will never change.

Venus aspects

Yesterday I wrote on Mars aspects. Today, as you see from the title, I am blogging on my interpretations on Venus aspects.

In astrology, Venus represents love. That should be a no brainer, right? Venus is Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Venus represents how we love, who we love, and what we love. It also represents our creative tastes, how creative we are, how we view friendships, how we socialize with other people, fashion, homes and gardens, anything beautiful or superficial, and money ( materialism ).

Now your Venus sign ain't everything. You're going to find people with Venus in Scorpio who are NOT possessive or jealous types, but they might be loyal and love in depth. You're going to find Venus in Capricorn people who cheat. You're going to find Venus in Gemini people who do not cheat. The list can go on. That's why you must look at Venus aspects and house placements.

Shall we begin?

Venus-Sun aspects, Venus-Moon aspects, Venus-Mercury, Venus-Mars... see other blogs.

Venus-Jupiter aspects: Expands love. This could mean someone who is unfaithful or has a hard time setting down. But it could also mean that the person goes to great lengths to show their love to one person.

These people are generally fun partners and wives/husbands. They love to go out, dine at good restaurants and expand their horizons. They are open minded when it comes to love and fairly tolerant, although not in the Uranian sense. These are people who would prefer active dates or philosophical dates in the park.

These people love their freedom. In a relationship or marriage, they need their own space.

There is a love of tolerance, broad mindedness, philosophy, religion, and travel. They might find love while overseas or be in love with foreign people.

Venus-Saturn aspects: Venus-Saturn can be annoying, but it has its pros and cons. ( I have the sextile and know people with the conjunction, and another with the square ). Generally speaking, these are the people who are late bloomers when it comes to love. They are not always the ones dating in high school, or prefer older or more mature partners. These are the people who are reserved and introverted, not always too fond of affection. However, there is a discreet elegance to them that is hard to miss, even with the harsh aspects. They may have an aloof attractiveness about them. Oftentimes, the opposite sex ( or same, if you swing thataway ) think these natives are not the least bit interested. They are not very good at flirting.

Sometimes they ( esp. women ) may be accused of being too icy or playing hard to get. This is not the case. Both sexes with these aspects are reserved and cautious in love. They do not take risks, or at least it is very hard for them to just ask someone they just met out.

I have the sextile. I can't just ask a cute guy out on a date I just met. I have to know him first and trust he won't reject me ( but I also have the Venus-Pluto conj ).

Overtime, they may be more sociable and get better looking as they age. They may have been awkward teenagers who felt they were not worthy of love.

These are people who highly value and see the importance of friendship. They have few close friends and sometimes don't feel close to anyone. These are people who feel that they are the only ones who care; no one else loves or cares as much as they do. Most of the time this is only their thoughts and not true.

Venus-Uranus aspects: Venus-Uranus produces a person who is crazy and likes to do crazy things in love! You don't know what they'll do next. They are exciting and sometimes unpredictable. They might love people who you think are a bit odd. Like Venus-Jupiter, they are very tolerant, and some of them are going to want men/women who are not good for them at all.

Indicates dating/marrying/being involved with men/women who are bizarre and unpredictable, unreliable OR men/women who are novel, intelligent, and logical.

Two types of Venus-Uranus: 1. Those who are wild, unpredictable and have a hard time settling down. Harsh aspects may indicate cheating. 2. Intelligent and caring lover, but perhaps a little emotionally dumb. Hard time showing affection.

Venus-Uranus aspects love people, even if it's on a distance level. A love for humanity. A love for technology. A love for science. Loving science. Loving advances to the human race. Loving humanitarian organizations. Loving helping people.

Just because someone has a Venus-Uranus aspect that doesn't mean they are going to cheat or date someone with purple hair and a million tattoos/piercing. However, they do thrive on varying and differing relationships. What they do might be different from what other people do. An example might be a woman who is 5 or 6 years older than her boyfriend/husband.

Venus-Uranus has its own standards for love. People do what they want and fuck the rest.

Venus-Neptune aspects: These are the people who long for the fairy tale romance ( unless Venus-Saturn is there or somethin' ). They see love with rose colored glasses and some might even imagine sex rather than doing it! Highly idealistic and often let down in love and in love partners. However, they just keep on dreaming and dreaming.

Venus-Neptune might indicate romances that are unreliable and unstable at first, but as one matures the relationships thrive on compassion, sensitivity, romance, and understanding. They need to get over the illusions and rose colored glasses first.

A love of poetry and writing. A love of the sea and fish. A love of water. A love for creativity. A love for high fashion. A love for shopping.

Attracted to those who are artsy and creative.

Venus-Pluto aspects: Sometimes there is a preoccupation with sex. Some people with these aspects have a high preoccupation with sex; they have it all the time with their partners and try new things, are passionate. Or they are the type that will do it with anyone to fulfill their own needs. Another way this can manifest is the person who is preoccupied with sex, but fears rejection so much they're still virgins. Venus-Pluto can abstain from sex just as much as it can actually do it.

There are high standards when it comes to love and love partners. Not anyone will do. Venus-Pluto would rather be alone than with someone they don't give a shit about. They can be single or alone for long periods of time, just like how they can abstain for long periods of time. Also, they do crave intimate relationships, but can handle waiting for it.

Intense and passionate. Compassionate and deep. Disliking fake loves and friendships. Can see right through superficiality.

Some people with these aspects have an interest in the taboo, or dating within the taboo. Some prosititutes have this aspect, however; keep in mind that not all people with these aspects are prostitutes.

Can be possessive and jealous in love. Can be obsessive.

** Disclaimer: If you have more than one Venus aspect, these can be modified. Also, look to house placement. I have a series on that from November and December.

Mars aspects

Mars is well-known to be the planet of war. In astrology, it represents our drive, sex in the lustful manner, force, and how we experience anger. It can also represent athletics, sports and active activities. It is also what we are sexually attracted to, what turns us on.

In old fashioned astrology, a woman would not associate herself with her Mars. For example, if a woman had Mars in Gemini, she would be attracted to men who are intelligent, witty. It would not mean that when she is angry she can become cold or icy, or intellectualizes things.

However, nowadays we associate Mars with both sexes. In both sexes it is what we are attracted to sexually and how we experience drive and anger.

Mars-Venus aspects: Love and sexual styles go hand-in-hand and are fused together. One can have love with sex, or experience romance and affection with sex. On the other side, if there are stressful aspects, one can have sex plenty of times without really being in love. One can be unfaithful. With other stressful aspects, like the quincunx or opposition, sexual and love styles might be so different the person will need to balance the two or make adjustments. Take Mars in Aries and Venus in Scorpio for example; there is a push and drive from Aries, but fear of rejection from Scorpio.

One can be turned on by arts, music, and creativity.

Or perhaps one's love style is assertive, driven and direct. Or perhaps both. Certainly, if you have the conjunction you're an assertive, direct, and fast moving lover, but you could be turned on by artsy and creative individuals.

Generally a high sex drive or emphasis on sex.

Mars-Jupiter aspects: Mars is anger and Jupiter is expansion. Yes, someone with any Mars-Jupiter aspects, whether soft or stressful, can have a temper problem. Depending on aspects and house placements will show the effect; one person could have a temper tantrum and forget/forgive, and the other person might have an explosive and raging temper.

Well, it's not all bad news, either. Intelligent people who love to discuss politics, philosophy, religion ( or lack thereof ), sociology, or current events turn them on. They want to have sex with intellectual people. They are turned off by ignorance and narrow mindedness. You have to be able to keep up with their discussions or they won't be into you anymore.

Another good thing about Mars-Jupiter is an interest in the outdoors and fitness, whether it's just running in the park or playing a team sport.

Mars-Saturn aspects: Ice/fire, stop/go are frequent features of any of the aspects. Whether the aspect, there will always be self doubt lingering in the person, even if they are successful at what they want to do in life. Also, sexual styles may be inhibited, out of fear or being overly cautious. Caution can be a good thing, but sometimes they can miss out on good opportunities.

However, it's not all bad news or doom/gloom. Any of the aspects can learn a lot if they get over their obstacles. And generally they learn the hard way. They are disciplined with their bodies and how they react to anger ( but this depends on what aspect ).

Stressful aspects are obviously harder. The conj, square and opp might indicate someone who fights anger between fire and ice, or anger and apathy. One minute they might be angry as f*ck, or apathetic and cold the next ( square, opp ). The conjunction person might fight with ice and apathy to the point that the person who pissed them off thinks they're arrogant and robotic. However, they may feel many self doubts or that the world is against them. They work hard, though, and hopefully will see that anything keeping them back is inside THEM.

Soft aspects can be hard, but the obstacles might not be so hard to get over. That's because there is better self esteem and these people might not feel like total failures at heart. There is good discipline and an organized manner they work or move up the social ladder. Generally law abiding citizens who are cautious.

Turn ons: someone who is organized, hard working, loyal and devoted. May be turned off by someone vulgar, dirty, or having a messed up life.

Mars-Uranus aspects: Certainly these people may get themselves into trouble whether they are consciously trying or not. Think of these people as the ones who have speeding problems and can't wait in traffic. There could be anger problems with anger coming suddenly and out of nowhere. Luckily, this is not the rage anger where it lingers on forever. On the other side, there may also be people who experience anger in a cold and aloof way as well. They may view anger as too emotional or irrational. Uranus can be either rational or irrational.

There is a lot of restless energy with any of the aspects. This can be used in anger, exercise, pacing around the room ( moving ), driving when angered, promoting a cause when restless, or working on creative projects when restless.

Stressful aspects may come into trouble with authority figures. It can range from rebelling against a teacher, getting a speeding ticket, or telling off one's supervisor. Or even robbing a bank or doing a criminal activity in the extreme. Stressful aspects indicate a drive or NEED almost to be free, independent and with no strings attached. When these people want their freedom, there is conflict. They almost fight for their freedom. There might be kicking and screaming involved. You might be able to tell which children have Mars-Uranus aspects too.

Soft aspects do have a need for freedom as well, but there isn't necessarily a conflict involved. Freedom comes naturally to them, but they also can find a balance as well. The balance is probably key as to why they aren't frequently in trouble.

However, either can be reckless when not careful or being absent minded.

Turn ons: intelligence, logic, creativity, humanitarianism, open mindedness, tolerance. Turn offs: ignorance, too many emotions, closed mindedness, intolerance, dullness, constriction.

Mars-Neptune aspects: An illusion is a delusion, right? There isn't so much anger problems with this aspect, but keep in mind if the same person with Mars-Neptune has Mars-Jupiter or Mars-Moon aspect, there could be anger associated with them. However, without all that jazz, Mars-Neptune indicates a person who is passive-aggressive, or passive in general. They may be afraid of vocalize their needs and wants; they have a hard time going after what they want and desire. This can cause problems in a career or in a relationship. SOME people with these aspects cheat in relationships because they cannot vocalize their needs or desires; in this case, they are not vocalizing what the partner is doing to upset them ( so they cheat instead ). Tiger Woods, I believe, has the opposition.

As children, they might have been bullied because they were too quiet or passive. So they perhaps come home and are mean and manipulative to their parents or other family members because of what happens at school.

When they actually do go for what they desire, they do so in an indirect and possibly manipulative manner. Sometimes they can't help it because that is their personality, but the fear of confrontation might lose them friends and lovers. If they are mad at a friend, they may talk behind the person's back instead of actually discussing the problem with the person they are angered at. Or if they don't want to see someone, they perhaps ignore the person without telling why.

Neptune is illusions and deception on its bad side. So there could be cheating OR wanting someone who is far away or deceiving THEM! They may want someone sexually who is far away, too ideal or doesn't want them. They see the person in rose colored glasses.

Mars-Neptune aspect people are nonetheless creative and romantic. They are restless. They are driven to create artwork, masterpieces, or even do PRACTICAL work with a creative twist. Exercising with music, eh? Or they can't exercise AT ALL without music.

Turn ons: creativity, larger than life person, spirituality, kindness, compassion. Turn offs: meanness, rudeness, dullness, practicality, black/white attitude.

Mars-Pluto aspects: People with Mars-Pluto aspects are sometimes talked about in darkness on Yahoo Answers. There is a fear about them. Sure, some of them are to be feared, but not all. Some people with these aspects are angry souls with resentfulness and bitterness inside of them. Their anger can be a rage and cruel.

However, there are many people in the world with Mars-Pluto aspects. Not all of them are cruel-minded and evil. Is there even an evil? Who knows? At any rate, there still can be bitterness and a cynical attitude. Try not to take it too personally; some people are just bitter and that's how they are.

In extreme instances, there are people with these aspects who are into torturing or dominating their sexual partner. They may really enjoy hurting their partners. In less extreme instances, they may just enjoy to dominate their partner, but do not enjoy hurting their partner ( or killing them. )

A good side to these people is that they can get absolutely anything done if they set their minds to it. A 5K when 15 lbs overweight? Doable. A project at work that is time consuming? Doable. Projects at home that require strength? Doable. Getting over societal obstacles? Doable.

There is a high sex drive here, but that doesn't mean they get it all the time or are sex freaks.

Turn ons: loyalty, transformation, sex, "darkness," taboo. Turn offs: weakness or at least vocalizing it

Disclaimer: If you have more than one Mars aspect, these will be modified. Also, house placements are significant.

Mercury aspects

Mercury is how we think. Mercury is not "What Mercury Sign is the Smartest?" We can all agree there are different kinds of smarts. This is where Mercury comes into play. It's also how we learn, how we communicate, and how we think.

Mercury-Sun aspects: Please see Sun aspects blog.

Mercury-Moon aspects: Please see the previous "Moon aspects" blogs.

Mercury-Venus aspects: These combine Venus/Love with Mercury/Communication and Learning. In general, these aspects produce someone who is charming, sociable, and idealistic. Sometimes too idealistic, especially with regards to love. These are people who whisper "Sweet Nothings." They are flirts; they like to flirt either via verbally or on Facebook/Twitter/MySpace. ( Who goes on MySpace anymore? ) Think of love letters, poems, love e-mails, expressing their love verbally. They are people who can easily say "I love you." Whether they mean it or not is debatable and depends on the person saying it.

Another way this can manifest is someone who loves to talk. They find beauty in learning and education. They love to learn. They may go to school to become human relations majors. They dislike to argue in friendship and romances. These people are cooperative, right brained, and artistic. In school, they may have liked English ( poetry ), art or anything related to communication or how to relate to other people. They are likable bosses.

Loves to talk during sex. These people are attracted romantically to those who are cooperative, easy going, and intelligent. Or having two of the three qualities. Communication is key to these peoples relations.

Mercury-Mars aspects: These people have sharp tongues, whether they have the soft aspects ( sextile trine ) or the intense aspect ( conj ) or the stressful ones ( square, opp or quincunx ). Mars is quick, action-oriented and driven and Mercury is communication and thinking style.

People with Mercury-Mars aspects are hands on, interactive learners. They do not always learn well by passively listening, UNLESS there are other factors ( like Mercury-Saturn for example ). People with these aspects are quick thinkers, witty and smart, but they might not always have the focus to get good grades in school. They are good debaters and if shy, enjoy debating online where they are anonymous. Teachers with this aspect might get impatient with their students and might assume they learn the material as quickly as they did.

In some cases, this is an indication of quick learning, but also an indication that they may not enjoy long text books, but things that are short and to the point. These people's communication is short and to the point.

Their communication is direct and sometimes they are too blunt. The squares will indicate someone who is not focuses enough and is too blunt to the point of being harsh. The conj has a similar effect, but not necessarily negative. The sextile/trine produces someone who is blunt, but not overtly so.

These are people who do not sugar coat things. They tell it like it is, but how harsh they tell it is depending upon what Mars-Mercury aspect they have and the rest of their charts. Someone with a Mercury-Mars in Libra or Pisces will be honest and to the point, but is a little nicer about it than someone with Sagittarius or Aries.

Mercury-Jupiter aspects: Produces a scholarly person; someone who loves to learn and extending their education. In fact, Jupiter is extention and higher education, and Mercury is learning and communicating. Jupiter expands learning and education. If these people can't go to school, learning is just as good as going to the library and we can not forget all the .org sources we have on the internet. There is always a way to learn. These people are life long learners and they highly value learning and education. They value the seeking of the truth.

In their younger years or in college, they might have issues picking up the details. These people are very broad minded and tolerant; they like to discuss. This is especially true with the square, conj, trine and sextile. WIth the opposition, we have someone who is either detail oriented or broad minded. They can not find a happy medium between the two. The square may produce someone who may not be focused at times and communication/learning is too vague and broad. They have a hard time seeing the details. The sextile and trine produces a broad mind, but there is not a conflict here.

All the aspects might promote someone who is prone to exaggerate just to get a reaction. Not all but some.

Likes to learn about philosophy, sociology, anthropology, foreign cultures, etc. There is an interest in broadening the mind and broadening communication. Their communication is flexible and open minded. They can deal with people of various cultures and backgrounds.

When doing a project or term paper for school, these people do best when they have a broad range of things they can research and talk about. With few limitations.

Mercury-Saturn aspects: This is a good placement for anyone who requires extensive research for school or work. In fact, this is a good placement for anyone who wants to go on and get their Master's or Ph.D. Saturn is all about what is important and it;s all about discipline. You need discipline to get that far in your education.

These are focused thinkers and learners. They are detail oriented and do not like when things get fuzzy. These are the students who like to know WHAT they are learning and WHEN they need to learn it by. They do not like broad projects ( unless they have a Jupiter-Mercury aspect too, or Mercury-Uranus aspect ) where everything is open ended. They need rules and structure to do well in school. These are also the students who are perfectionists in school. They are over-achievers.

These people study hard and are disciplined. Good placement for math and science. This is not a good placement for art in most cases, but if they have a Mercury-Venus aspect, or Moon-Venus aspect, or Neptune-Mercury, or Neptune-Venus, their art work can be more CONCRETE and realistic, or they put a lot of importance to their art work.

Communication is to the point, but they like their words and details. Left brained communicators and thinkers. Not charismatic or lively speakers; they like their facts and figures. Not fond of public speaking, but it is something they can improve.

Mercury-Uranus aspects: Some people say these are the "genius" aspects. I will say that Mercury-Uranus can produce someone who is highly intelligent, but whether there is the drive or focus to do anything concrete or substantial is dependent upon other factors. Mercury-Uranus may show an intellectual, but does not show success academically or in the real world. If you want to look at it from an astrological perspective.

These people love to learn, much like Mercury-Jupiter aspects. In fact, they are open minded about anything they learn. They like to learn anything that is out of the ordinary or things that not many people study. However, with Uranus ( masses ) there could be an interest in Urban Studies, Anthropology, or more importantly, Sociology. These are people who like to "people watch" and analyze people objectively.

Mercury-Uranus is quick-witted, easily learns, and objective, but they are able to think outside of the box and are creative and innovative. Uranus is flexible; there could be interest in math or science, or in the social sciences or arts. Either way, they learn easily and have fun while learning. However, on the downside, Uranus is erratic and these people may not be focused.

The conj, trine and sextile produces someone who is learns easily, intellectual, and objective, but the square and opp might produce someone whose thinking is intellectual, but lazy, erratic and non-focused.

A broad project with few limitations will help these people do the best, like in a paper or anything related to school. Let them brainstorm, instead of giving them fixed rules and regulations.

Mercury-Neptune aspects: These peoples strength comes from creativity. They don't like to be stuck doing a project with rules and regulations; they want to be inspired and do a project with no limitations. ( Similar to Mercury-Jupiter and Mercury-Uranus ). Art projects and creative writing projects are good for these people. Mercury-Neptune aspects are good indication of someone who is good at writing, more specifically poetry or writing fantasy novels. They are highly imaginative and sometimes like to live in their own little worlds. ( This can be problematic in 5th grade math class though ).

It is unwise to say that these people would not be good at math and science. In fact, quite the opposite might be true for many people with Mercury-Neptune aspects. ( Some might be bad at math and others excellent at math ). Neptune does not have boundaries, so you might find someone with any of these aspects who is excellent at math and science, but would prefer ( or has more fun ) writing or drawing. Like Jupiter, Neptune is flexible, and these people might be "jack of all trades but master of none."

The soft aspects indicate someone who is creative, intuitive, and imaginative. They learn best in creative environments. The stressful aspects indicate someone who is still creative and imaginative, but lacks focus, discipline and is too dreamy.

Communication might be vague, so working on the details is probably a good thing.

Mercury-Pluto aspects: With Mercury-Pluto, there is an interest in probing peoples minds and actions. So we can infer there is an interest in psychology, but there could also be an interest in sociology, anthropology, history, ancient cultures, the taboo, sexuality, and crime. Their minds are investigative and know that there are things beneath the surface. They strongly dislike superficial thinking and attitudes.

Good placement for someone who takes their education seriously. Their education and learning is of great importance and they place a value on it. This is not someone who throws in the towel early if they fail Statistics.

Good placement for research or even anything related to Biology or Microbiology. AIDS research. Cancer research.

These people are not fans of small talk. They dislike superficial small talk and would rather have intense conversations relating to the taboo, death, politics, psychology, or people in general. They like to get to the bottom of things. They like to talk about death or religion.

Squares or oppositions can be indicative of someone who is a manipulative and mean communicator. They can be cruel and know how to get what they want from people.
