Astrology Questions

On Yahoo Answers I put my personal e-mail address on there for people to ask me questions regarding astrology.
But since my personal email is cluttered between spam, work stuff, professional stuff and school stuff, it gets hard to keep up with everything, and sometimes e-mails from people get buried between all the spam.
I have an email JUST for astrology questions..
sarah.astrology@gmail.com
If you have any suggestions for the blog, or personal questions, send it there and not to my personal e-mail address.
Cool beans.

Thanks!

Astrology & Panic Attacks/Anxiety Part Two

A few days ago I wrote on some of the basics of panic attacks on both blogs. A few people have commented on my blogs telling me how they also have problems and listed the placements that they think are important. Yes, Virgo or Gemini rising can also indicate a restless, nervous energy, but there also needs to be other factors as well. We can't go by that alone, but the people  had other things going on with their Moon as well. Uranus square Moon can be very much linked to bad anxiety.

Personally, I have Moon trine Uranus. I think having Moon-Uranus aspects are pretty good and at least I have the trine, but I am a restless person. As a child and teen, I would pace around my house with racing thoughts. I could do it all day and my family just loved to make fun of me. My sister and mother have Moon-Uranus aspects; my mom with the trine and my sister with the sextile. The sextile is similar to the trine, but it isn't as dymanic or strong, and I don't think it would produce anxiety problems, unless there's something else going on.

I was diagnosed with anxiety at 16. I was not having panic attacks, but I was still in that stage where I paced around my house and thought. It was almost really bad, but it did keep me from weight gain! ( I ate a lot of fast food at that point. ) I didn't have my first panic attack until I was a senior in high school, but over the years the panic attacks and anxiety have gotten worse each year. This past Spring, they were the worst they had ever been. I would get them multiple times per day and I would have many bad symptoms like: chest pain, fast heart beat, muscle numbness in my legs, facial and neck numbness, a lump in my throat, and shortness of breath. Those are the symptoms I usually get and when I have the attack I think I am dying.

I had a spur of panic attacks earlier in the Fall, but they lasted maybe a month and I had them a few times a week. Whenever I would get an attack, I would get so light headed I felt the ground was going to collapse on me. This past summer I had some problems and when I would go outside in the heat it would get worse. I was always afraid I would pass out in the heat ( I never did pass out ). I never had such bad heat intolerance.

But yeah I haven't even been to a therapist yet, but I do need to. Especially before the summer, since I now have an irrational fear of the summer heat.

Here are some of my placements;
Leo moon in the 6th house
Moon/6H trine Uranus/10H
Moon/6H square Pluto/8H
Pluto in the 8H
Virgo Lilith ( Lilith is said to be the dark side of the moon, but I don't know how much this matters. It might... idk )
Virgo South Node 6th house ( South Node represents our old tendencies, old talents, what it's easy to fall back on. Virgo is associated with anxiety and restlessness. With a Pisces NN in the 12H, maybe I need to learn how to chill the fuck out? I don't know how to chill out! )
Mars is my dominant planet and it's in the 1st house. Mercury and Jupiter are tied, and are up there when ranked by astro.com

With Mars as my dominant, I am a person who sometimes gets more angry when I am anxiety ridden. Sometimes my road rage gets worse. I try to get better with that. Haha.

Astrology & Panic Attacks/Anxiety Part One

This is something that has interested me for a while. As a person who has been suffering from panic attacks and extreme anxiety since my senior year of high school in 2008, this rings home to me.

There are many ways this can manifest. ( And again, just because you have this problem and your natal chart shows it… that does not mean you are doomed for the rest of your life! you CAN get help and can overcome this! )

First, we look to the Moon. The Moon is the most sensitive parts of us. It is what is deep inside of us, our emotions, our stability, our needs. Obsessively controlling our emotions can lead to all sorts of bad things… like anxiety, depression, apathy, substance abuse, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive overeating, drinking, cig smoking… among many others. We can control how we react to emotions, but we can not control how we feel.

Moon in Gemini and Moon in Virgo are two moon signs that are constantly restless, always thinking and have nervous energies. However, all moon signs can have panic attacks and anxiety.

Here are some ways anxiety and panic attacks can manifest in a chart:
- Moon in the signs ruled by Mercury, Gemini and Virgo
- Moon in hard aspect to Mercury
- Moon in hard aspect to Saturn ( Saturn represents fears )
- Moon in hard aspect to Pluto ( Pluto will represent deep fears and deep anxieties, rooting in our past and past hurts. These are irrational fears. )
- Moon in hard aspect to Uranus
- Moon in soft aspects to Uranus, Mercury, Pluto and Saturn can also produce restlessness and anxiety, especially if it is to Mercury and Uranus.
- Moon in the 6th house, Pluto in the 6th house, Mercury in the 6th house, Uranus in the 6th house
- Moon being the ruler of the 6H and making an aspect to Uranus, Saturn Or Mercury ( Like if Cancer is your Moon sign, then Moon is the ruler of your 6H )
- 4th house, 8th house and 12th house placements. Saturn/Pluto in any of those houses, making aspect to the Moon or Mercury can be telling. The ruler of your 6H too.

Anxiety can lead to panic attacks. You can feel anxiety without the actual attack, but anxiety in small doses can be good. It helps get the job done, and it helps you stay focused.

However, when it comes to be too much, you may start to feel restless and shaky ( Mercury energies ). This can lead to panic attacks:

Some hallmark symptoms of panic attacks:
- shortness of breath, feeling like you have to breath more than once, or feel it go through your diaphragm
- fast heart beat
- feeling jittery/shaky
- feelings of impeding doom or death. Some people are extremely afraid of getting sick and dying. ( I am one of them )
- Numbness of neck or face, as well as legs and hands
- Chest pain
- Tingling in arms and feet
- Vision problems. You may become sensitive to light, or you may get tunnel vision.
- Stomach problems, or upset stomach. Stomach aches. That’s because there are a nerve plexus in your digestive system.
- Nausea
- Feeling faint, like you’re going to pass out.

There are more, but that’s what I can think of now. Everyone is different and feels different symptoms. If you feel any of them, it is wise to see an actual doctor to rule out  heart problems or neurological problems. Most people who have panic attacks have been in the ER a few times and when  you go there, they do tests on your lungs and heart to rule out stuff before going to anxiety. They usually know who has anxiety and who doesn’t.

** NOT A DIAGNOSIS! This is intended for people who have already been diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder, or who have been in the ER for panic attacks. If you have not been diagnosed and think you have a problem, this is only a guide, and you should seek help before it gets worse!

Square the Asc

Last one!

Note: If you have more than one of things, descriptions will be modified.

Sun square Asc: This can be a problematic aspect, but hardly the end of the world. These people do not always come across well to others. This is because of the square tension between their ego/personality and how they come off. In this case, signs can matter, as they help interpret the aspect.

Some people with this aspect can come across as pushy, insensitive, or having an "attitude." Even if the Asc is in Pisces and the Sun is in Gemini or Sagittarius, there is still a pushy nature and attitude with them, although it may not be as fiery as someone who has an Aries rising and Cancer sun.

These people can be defensive when they do not get their way. This stems from childhood. On the plus side, this defense can help out if they are bullied as teens or children. They do not want to be seen as weak.

As they get older, they may have some sort of conflict with authority figures. These people resent being told what to do, but will need to learn to hold their tongue and attitude.

Moon square Asc: Like all Moon-Asc aspects, these people come across as sensitive and caring. They are the person that one can talk to about their problems since they appear sympathetic. They lend a good listening ear.

Since this is a square aspect, there is a tension. This stems mostly as an internal tension within themselves. They know they are emotional people, whether they actually verbalize their emotions or not. They are highly sensitive, but there is some sort of censorship as to how you express their emotions.

When they express their emotions, it is not always a true reflection of how they truly feel. This is because they do not want other people to disapprove of them.

Some people with this aspect lie about their true emotions and put on a false happy face. I think of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" posters that they had in England during the riots. Other people's emotions come out inappropriately and they appear irrational. Other people with this aspect repress their emotions.

It is possible that in early childhood, these children were told emotions were inappropriate or were told to repress them.

Mercury square Asc: When these people speak, other people misunderstand them. Some are even offended. These people do not mean to offend people on purpose; often there is a conflict with their words and how they come off to other people.

This is not to say they are terrible at communication. They do not realize when they offend someone. People with this aspect very well may be good speakers, but there is a cloudiness or fuzziness when they communicate to other people. This can be true with someone who has Mercury in Gemini/Sagittarius and a Pisces rising. Other people may not know how to take what they say/do and their body language.

On a negative side, there is a lot of nervous energy within themselves. Some of these people may not be confident at all about how they communicate. They will need to learn how to relax and yes, other people can detect that!

There may have been issues focusing in school, or a late start in school. People with this aspect have potential for academic success. There needs to be discipline and focus.

Venus square Asc: These people are highly sentimental... about everything! They like to cling onto the past... past family memories, past loves, and objects that meant something to them in the past. ( There could be a tendency in hoarding, but look to other factors as well, like Moon stress aspects to Jupiter/Venus/or Neptune. )

This aspect does not make one ugly. Like all Venus-Asc aspects, there is a possibility that the native is a bit superficial when it comes to looks.He/she wants to always look good and wear the best clothes. On the other side, this aspect can manifest in a way that the native doesn't care too much about physical appearance, but wants a beautiful home.

Love must be symbolic. "I love you" is important to them and it must be said. But if not, love letters are admired and usually kept for a long time. ( Until a family member forces them to burn the letters ). Old rings or old gifts are usually kept. And when in a relationship these are of symbolic signs of love.

They can be giving when it comes to relationships and this is a sign of their love to the other person.

On a more negative front, some of these people may make good friends, but may not always want to take on the responsibility of being a best friend. ( a.k.a. helping their friends when they are in need ). There is reluctance there unless they get something in return.

Mars square Asc: These people are assertive, but signs here do help the interpretations. Someone with a Cancer rising ( Aries Mars ) may come across as more defensive and a Pisces rising ( Sagittarius Mars ) may blow up when things were repressed for too long. Aries rising may come across as too aggressive, especially if they have a more cold repressed Capricorn Mars or a defensive pushy Cancer Mars.

Their actions, whether assertive or aggressive, annoy/offend other people, especially in relationships. In a debate or athletic event, this can be helpful. In fact, this aspect can denote success in a debate team or athletics. There is a lot of energy that needs to be released and sports/exercise/fitness can be one.

In relationships, it is easier for them to get angry rather than sulk and cry. It is a defense mechanism that was learned when younger. Crying denotes weakness and getting angry is not as weak. In women this can be an issue ( but also with men too. ) However, women are expected by society to be more tender, so women with this aspect are more likely to be reprimanded.

Home life was/is probably rushed, on the go, or one of the parents was like this. One of the parents might have had a temper problem, or perhaps the native was just an angry little kid who wanted his/her way all the time.

Jupiter square Asc: There may be issues regarding moderation and self discipline, whether it is eating, partying, shopping/spending money, and the likes. Or all three of them!

Like all Jupiter-Asc aspects, these people are good natured and like to have a good time. They make good friends because they are fun-loving and have a generous streak. If you're in a situation, they'd be more than happy to help you out. ( As long as you do not take advantage of them. )

Sometimes it takes a hit to realize one is living live in over indulgence. These people know the importance of having money saved and why they should have it. When they are younger, parents are going to bail them out. If the parent does not bail them out, they will need to learn from their financial mistakes. Or partying mistakes, or whatever.

Saturn square Asc: Like all Saturn-Asc aspects, these people are mature and responsible. On the downside, there may be too much caution. Others may see this person as cold and indifferent, since they may turn down opportunities.

Some of these people are afraid to assert themselves or go after what they want because they are afraid of opposition. They move slowly and surely until they get what they want. This may stem from being knocked down as a child when they verbalized their goals.

During early childhood, the child's parents may have been cool towards them. The child learned to be a perfectionist. They are all about the minor details in life.

There may be issues with being too frugal and not having enough fun with their money. They work hard and will need to act in moderation. ( a.k.a. spending SOME money every now and again ). It does not hurt to indulge in oneself... just not in excess!

In love, they may be cautious which can put others off. They will need someone who understands them and is patient. And it is understood that if they do not spend a lot of money on a gift, not to take it particularly personal. Sometimes a lover can see the native as cold and aloof at times.

Uranus square Asc: These people are original and independent. They resist any forms of repressing their independence, and some of them can be downright ruthless and abusive when others try to take freedom away from them. Fierce independence is the best way I can describe this.

While they like to march to the beat of their own drum, other people don't like this too much. Especially the family, which is represented by both the 4H and 10H. As teenagers, they were probably in conflict with their family members. Perhaps they were seen as the "black sheep" or the weirdo. Whatever the case, the family tried to restrict freedom when the teenager wanted to do as he/she pleased.

In life, these people either met those who are unconventional, yet unstable. Or meet those they want stable friendships and relationships with, but the other people are flighty and unstable.

Positively, these people like to help others. They want a job/career where they can better society and the community. They see clearly through BS that is going on in the world and are idealistic ( but not in the Neptune illusion sense ). They have Vision and foresight, but personality will need to be moderated.

Neptune square Asc: Like all Neptune-Asc aspects, these people are creative and imaginative. However with the square aspect, they do not capitalize on their imagination. They'd rather just day dream.

On the downside, there may be issues asserting oneself, in friendships or at work. The native doesn't like to do this because they are afraid of being put down. They are incredibly sensitive and get crushed easily. They do not like competition of any sorts unless they are confident in themselves.

Again, confidence will need to be learned. "Toughen up" is the thing that is best described here. Natives will need to find a creative outlet like art, music, or writing to help with their fertile imaginations.

There may be issues with finding a career they like best. This is because the native is afraid of failure, for starters, but also because they have a wide variety of interests. Once the person can nail it down to a couple ideas, they will be able to benefit and prosper. At any rate, experimentation with careers might be a good idea or take a couple classes to see what they like best.

Pluto square Asc: People with the square aspect between Pluto and the Asc want to be powerful forces in those closest to them, whether it be the family or a partner. They may be bossy or controlling in home life. There are control issues that will need to be worked on.

They feel as if they do not control the situation, they will be seen as weak. Often there is great stress when things do not go as planned. There may have been power struggles between the parents, or one of the parents. Additionally, another way this can manifest is that one of the parents was overbearing, manipulative, controlling, jealous, or any variation of those. The child might have felt like he/she was being controlled, so they may want to make up for it in adult life.

In relationships, they may have a tendency to control the partner. This can bring resentments from both sides. They feel that if they do not control the other person, he/she will control them. Again, go back to childhood... In this case, it's best to work on control issues before entering an intimate relationships.

In jobs/careers, they can come across as overbearing and over importance. This can annoy superiors or people in authority.

Planets in the 10th house

I’m bored, so I am writing this. Never fear, it doesn’t take me that long.

The 10th house represents our public image, career, the father or mother depending on which astrologer you talk to, ambition, success, worldly view, etc. The Midheaven is an angle in the 10th house.

Sun in the 10H: I know some people with this placement and one is my best friend. The Sun represents your ego and general personality. You value work, hard work, success ( your own terms of what success is, btw ), and a career. You basically know what you want and how to get it. You do not tolerate laziness or people whom you perceive as lazy, or not doing their potential. You know you are full of potential, so you try your best at everything. You know your strengths and weaknesses and you are an overall confident person. ** unless your sun makes some squares.Career wise, this placement does not denote a particular field, but whichever field you choose, you are competent in it with hard work and skill.

Moon in the 10H: My aunt also has this ( and Moon conj her MC ). She’s a housewife and has been for many years. However, she’s expressed that she might sometime want to go back to school and work in some kind of health facility where she helps people. Your public image is that you are very nurturing and motherly. This placement I’ve seen in house wives, but it can also denote a career in health care or any of the “caring” vocations. Nursing, dietetics, nutrition, gerontology, Child Life, child day care workers, or even a professor of some kind of child development class. This might also indicate a career in which is dominated by women, even if you’re a guy. Perhaps a man with this placement might want to be a nurse or dietitian, or even stay at home with the kids. You want your destiny or career to be about helping people, whether it’s strangers or your own family. This is strengthened when your Moon makes an aspect to the MC.

Mercury in the 10H: Your self-image, public image, career should be associated with Mercury: writing, speech, publication, teaching, research, journalism, etc. Basically, whatever you CHOOSE to do for a living will deal with communication. Yes, every job ( even if you’re a solitary scientist who does experiments on your own ) requires communication, but yours even more so. This is a strong indication of someone who is a writer and might even become published, or a journalist. Even a teacher. Communication is BIG in the teaching field. You feel comfortable in a job that requires analysis, details and writing. Basically, what you do is what you know. :-)

Venus in the 10H: This can indicate a glamorous life o f a model, but again, just because you have this placement does not mean you will be one. Venus is all about beauty and when I think of “beauty” a vast array of occupations come to mind: fashion merchandiser or designer, interior designer, hair dresser, cosmetologist, photographer, artist, etc. You make your public statement through beauty or working in the beauty ( or art, or anything related to Venus ) industry. If Mercury is conj the MC or in aspect to your Venus, there might be an indication to be a gossip columnist or write for a celebrity magazine, or a beauty magazine.

Jupiter in the 10H: Jupiter represents expansion. And this can mean many things. You perhaps are interested in a career with travel. ( Air line hostess or working for an air company, or being a travel agent, or whatever ). Your job might take you long distances, or at least you want a job like that. International business might be an interest of a career for you. You like to make your public image be optimistic, philosophical, worldly, fun, and educated. Again, this might even indicate a career as being a professor, a mentor of some kind. “Good fortune towards a career”. Yes, as long as you don’t screw it up.

Saturn in the 10H: This does NOT make it difficult for you to have a career. If you let Saturn restrict you in this area, it WILL. Now this can mean that you are a hard worker and willing to climb on the social ladder. Discipline and focus are a must. Authority people/s like you and you may give a good, responsible example of someone with whom they want to hire. This is a good position to be a scientist, working alone in a lab. You prefer to work alone, not with other people. Having a career in retail won’t suit you very well, but we always work in places we don’t want to for money. Again, Saturn can add doubt. You might doubt your capabilities at some point in life and yes, that will restrict you. But once you know that the only thing keeping you back is you, you can go far in life.

Uranus in the 10H: Authority figures might sense you are unstable. You may or may not be, but a 9 to 5 job is so not for you. You like the freedom to do what you want in a career. Perhaps you want an independent career, starting your own business. Innovation and creation are highlighted here. If you feel stuck in a job, you feel stuck, and you desperately want a way out of it. Like Saturn, this is a good placement for science or anything that requires thinking outside the box. If there are aspects to the Moon, you might want to work for a food industry, creating new foods that are desirable to consumers.I read this is a good placement for an astrologer, too. If you have this placement and love astrology, then this is all good for you.

Neptune in the 10H: You might feel confused about your direction in life and what you want to do. Your public image might be vague, because you jump around from job to job, or career to career. In this case, you might be seen as unreliable, which is not cool. There might be some self-doubts or self-esteem issues here, too. If you are confused about what you want, do some introspection. Figure out what you’re good and what you’re not so good at. It’s good to try different things, or ‘feel’ your way around certain careers. This is an indication of fame ( now don’t get your hopes up, haha ), social work, helping profession, charity work, or perhaps a job you have is working around water, or anything related to water. Neptune has haute culture and low culture. You want to be the “good” side of Neptune.

Pluto in the 10H: Girl, this does not mean you’re going to be a dictator, but I’m sure some of them had this placement. I noticed that a lot of politicians and world leaders have Pluto here. Pluto is a space object ( I don’t want to use planet, because it’s not a planet anymore ) that is associated with power ( both good and bad ). This is definitely a powerful and influential placement, and it’s wise to use it well. Whichever path you choose in life, you will be seen as influential and people will look up to you. Your career can be transformative to you. In your life, you might have completely switched careers all together.

Planets in the 9th house

The 9th house is a “fun” house. It represents higher education, the higher mind, philosophy, religion, learning, open mindedness, foreign cultures, long distance travel, your world view, a broad mind, the big picture, and publication.

Again, if you have more than one planet here, these are going to be modified. I go one by one for simpleness.

Sun in the 9H: Your ego and general personality is tied to this house. You’re very much interested in foreign cultures and travel. You have probably traveled to other countries and if you haven’t, you will someday or you definitely dream about it. You are generally an open minded and accepting person. College/university is very important to you. If you don’t go for a better job, you go for a general joy/love of learning. I read that a lot of pastors/priests/preachers have this placement and that may be true. You might be religious or totally not. ( I am totally not and I have this placement ). Good placement of publication.

Mercury in the 9H: Mercury here gives you a broad mind. When you’re in school or learning something new, then you want to look at the big picture FIRST and then work down to the details. It might annoy you when a professor/teacher wants you to look at the details first and then the big picture. Trust me, it’s easier for me to learn theories/big picture when learning Anatomy and Physiology, and then I go for the little details. There is a joy of writing here. If you write, you might like to write adventure stories or you might enjoy writing academic work. Your college/university is important to you and consider getting a grad degree, if you so desire to. It is easy for you to look at both sides of every issue. You might be bilingual or have an interest in languages. A possible interest is anthropology, or an interest in other cultures. Travel magazines are something you might read. You might get a kick out of the Spanish channel.

Moon in the 9H: Like anything in astrology, things can manifest in many different ways. You might find security in learning or higher education. You might find security in learning about other cultures. You also might find security outside your native home or territory, with a different group of people. You’re open minded generally speaking, but you might be too emotional with regards to your opinions and world view. And this can be any issue or whatever. An example of this is my cousin who has Sagittarius moon in the 9H and she does not always see the objective or logical part of the issues/philosophies. I’m Agnostic and for awhile, she was constantly harassing me on MySpace to “believe in God.” It was annoying, but luckily, she accepted my world view now. Again, this is generally a good placement, but you have to remember now to get worked up when someone believes differently than your own.

Venus in the 9H: Does this mean you will be attracted to foreigners? Maybe. Does this mean you are open minded with love? Probably. This can show a love of travel, whether you travel to Greece or simply to Ohio. ( Haha ). You will find beauty in art, architecture, and in other cultures. If another culture has a right of passage ( in some countries, teenage girls will put all sorts of piercings on their face to show they are ready for marriage ) and you with this placement might see nothing wrong with it. Other people might be like “WTF.” Traveling on a cruise or going to an exotic beach in  Southern European beaches might sound lovely to you. You are generally an open minded person in love and accepting. One way this can manifest is that you might be turned on by those with degrees or who have the smarts.

Mars in the 9H: Others might think you are overly aggressive with your world view. Even if your Mars is in Libra or Pisces, you might be thought of as ‘pushing’ your beliefs down people’s throats. Mars in Pisces might be like, “You’re going to Hell if you don’t believe in God” and they might try to persuade you emotionally to do this. ( If we are going on about religion and yes, 9H is tied to religion. That is why I used religion as an example ). This can go the other way too with Atheism. Basically, you are very blunt about your views and have no problem telling people they are wrong. If your Mars is in Fire, there might be name calling involved, unless you are beyond that. On the other end, Mars gives drive and ambition to learning. You have the drive to finish your degree as long as you are focused. You have the drive to travel and you know what you want and how to get it. Mars in the 9H is not always bad and everyone is different.

Jupiter in the 9H: Jupiter is at “home” here. Jupiter is expansion. You like to expand your mind and you love to learn. Learning brings you joy. You are very open minded, broad minded, BUT you are worse about details than Mercury in the 9H. You might be accused of not seeing the tiny details or loopholes in arguments. This is something you should work on, because we need to have a balance between the two sides. On the plus side, you’re always eager to learn about new cultures and might travel ALL around the world someday. It is possible that you were very lucky in higher education. Due to your love of learning, it should not be too hard and you can always stay motivated. Most of all, the 9th house is what you consider fun.

Saturn in the 9th house: No, this does not make you a Republican. I’m sure there are Republicans ( or Conservatives, if they wish not to be associated with a party ) and others are not. Saturn can add closed mindedness in other people. But Saturn can also add that someone wants proof of something. Like God or even astrology. This placement adds hard work ( good for higher education ), dedication and practicality. This does not mean you are not interested in foreign cultures. But it could mean you might think it’s important to learn about them and if we can incorporate some of it into our own culture. There may or may not be foreign travel. If not, then perhaps you are simply not interested in traveling. However, it does not hurt to open up your mind. Your brain does not fall out. Shows an interest in studying or working alone. A dedicated student.

Uranus in the 9H: You are the type of person who just wants to travel EVERYWHERE and learn about EVERYTHING. Nothing is off limits to you. Paris, hiking in the mountains in Asia, Africa, Australia, etc if you can afford it. Everything is fun and should be an adventure. Good for higher education, as long as you can FOCUS. Generally speaking, you are a smart person ( maybe even gifted ) and you are very knowledgeable on many issues/philosophies. Certainly you are an interesting person to discuss with. You don’t like to talk about something, unless you know what you are talking about. You don’t want to look like an idiot. Logical, yet creative are the key words I have here.

Neptune in the 9H: Unless other factors are present in your chart, you may not be interested in math/science. Religion/spirituality, arts, humanities, dance, philosophy, etc are things you WANT to study. Whether you study these things or not is dependent upon you and how realistic you are in other areas of life. You might be wanting to study philosophy, but know you can’t get a job in it. You may take one or two classes in it, but major in something else completely. And that’s okay. Neptune does not have any boundaries, so this is a great place for foreign travel, or travel in general. You might be interested in how other cultures worship. Again, you might be an Atheist, or you might be Catholic, or you might even be a New Age person. I generally associate this placement with New Age spirituality, though. The ocean or traveling by sea might appeal to you. Think of the warm sandy beaches in the Mediterranean and the beautiful water.

Pluto in the 9H: With this placement, you do not like being wrong or proven wrong. You like to have power and dominance in your world view and you consciously make an effort to get people to believe you. You might be self-righteously about what you believe in and make others feel bad for believing any differently. But astrology can manifest in many ways: You might simply be interested in sociology, government, politics, and psychology. You’re interested in people and how corrupt they are, even if you’re totally not corrupt yourself. You like to know what makes people tick and you take an objective approach to it. This placement might indicate someone who rejects their religion that they were raised with completely and either be an Atheist/Agnostic, or find a completely new religion later on in life.

"New" Zodiac signs. Really?

In the past couple of days, as many of us know, the recent media sensation of zodiac signs. I have been logging on Facebook to see raging people, pissed that their sign changed. As a person who studies real astrology, I laughed. Even I know you can’t define yourself as your damn sun sign. That’s ridiculous. Most people don’t even FEEL like their sun sign.

Anyway, the “new” zodiac is far from new. It’s what is called the Sidereal ( or Vedic ) Astrology. It is commonly used in India and parts of the East, nearly unheard of over in this part of the world. I am aware of my own Sidereal chart, with my Aquarius rising being the same in both charts. In Sidereal, I’m a Scorpio, but I have a Cancer Moon, Libra Venus, Pisces Mars, etc. All my house placements and aspects are the same. Sidereal astrology is based off of what is astronomically accurate, basically. When the constellations move around, Sidereal adjusts for it.

Western ( or Tropical astrology ) does not do that, but it does not make it any less valid. Western astrology is based off of the four seasons. When Cancer is going on in Summer ( late June, early July ) the sun is on the Tropic of Cancer. Actually, it’s hard to explain, but that’s it in a nutshell.

There is not a Thirteenth Sign. Sorry. Ophicous or however you spell it, is an outlier, and the sun does not thoroughly go through it. Besides, if you were even to google it, you’re not going to find anything substantial.
My best advice is to look at your Sidereal chart vs: Western chart and decide which one you like better. Don’t base it off of your sun sign, just because you like one better than the other.

Planets in the 8th house

Hello, everyone. Northeast Ohio ( The Greater Cleveland and Akron areas ) are being pounded with snow. I drove out this morning to the Roads of Death, slide in a circle and turned back to my apartment. I am sorry to say I had to skip my Nutrition Communication and Education Skills class. I never miss class. Boo. I am hoping to make my Gen Organic and Biochem II class. That would be swell.

Driving in a White Out reminds me of the 8th house, because one thing it represents is death, the end of things.

Among others, the 8th house represents sex, the occult, depth, intimacy, probing, investigating, rebirth, transformation, obsession, other people’s money, other people’s possessions and taxes.
The 8th house is a very cool and mysterious house. At any rate, I have Venus conj Pluto in the 8H. Whatever that means, LOL.

Sun in the 8H: Your Sun here ties your ego and core personality to 8th house matters. You are very well aware of sex and power, and how the two tie together. But most importantly, you do value sex and intimacy. You’re not one to give up your power ( sex ) to anyone undeserving. Your life is marked by transformations. If something is not going well for you, it is easy for you to transform your life and work with what you got. You might have a “thang” for power, whether it’s in politics or just in your house. You like control, but that does not mean you like to control other people. If you have Sun in Leo or Libra or any other happy go lucky sign, you might have a darker or more mysterious, introverted thing about you, rather than being sunny and radiant. You are naturally drawn to mysteries, the taboo, supernatural, and psychology.

Moon in the 8H: No matter what your Moon sign is, you’re going to be a deep, yet complex and moody person. On the good side, you are deep and able to probe other people. You know when someone is lying and you don’t take BS. It is like you have great intuition. On the down side, you can be possessive, jealous and moody. Your emotional life has intense ups and downs. You can be real mean when you want to be. If you have Moon in Aries or Sag, you’re likely to have a sharp tongue when you’re moody. It’s best if people leave you the F8ck alone when you’re emotional, despite what your sign is in.

Mercury in the 8H: Your mind is tied to 8th house matters. Perhaps you like psychology, anthropology, criminal justice, anything relating to death and morality, Microbiology ( relating to disease and death ), or perhaps you just like working alone or in a biology. This is a good placement for psychology and indicates and interest in psychology. You like to know what makes people tick and you’re able to probe other people. Another placement is anthropology, which deals with the study of humans and their culture. Anthropology is different than sociology. Anthropology digs deep into taboos and culture, and the deeper meanings of why humans do what they do. Science, relating to Microbes and Biology, indicates an interest here. You might also like learning about the supernatural… ghosts, demons, and things that go bump in the night. You might like learning about astrology or past lives. The possibilities are endless. Your writing style is deep, detailed and eloquent.

Venus in the 8H: Even if you have sunny Venus in Gemini or Libra, you’re likely to have a possessive or jealous streak, even if you try to contain it or intellectualize it. Yes, sign does matter. However, in general, you do not tolerate BS and this can be “good” for marriage partnerships. You might inherit a lot of money, or marry someone with money. Or whatever. You generally know when someone likes you or not, whether or not you act on the intuition. Generally speaking, you are loyal, and if you are not, it’s only to piss the other person off. You can be hot or cold in relationships, but you’re able to switch affection OFF with a switch. There is intensity here, but more so in a Water sign or Fire sign.Taboos are associated with this placement ( like prostitution or being a pimp or porn star ) but also sexual frigidity is also associated with it. 8H does represent extremes.

Mars in the 8H: You have a very high sex drive, and even if you don’t have sex a lot, you think of it a lot. You can be aggressive when it comes to sex and intimacy. You want it when you want it. This is also the deal with power. You like power, sex and money. Again, in society, this placement is more favorable in men than women, but there are women like this. Society frowns upon it. There might be fights over other people’s possessions or you might fight with your siblings when Mom or Dad dies over who gets what.

Jupiter in the 8H: Does this mean you will live a long life? Of course not! But this is “good fortune” or at least optimism with regards to this house. You might be in favorable situations where sexual relations and money relations are fair and just. You might enjoy to expand your mind on 8H matters, like psychology, the occult, death and dying, and rebirth. You might want to learn how other cultures see or view death and the occult. You’re open minded about the occult and the supernatural, but sometimes you may jump to conclusions.

Saturn in the 8H: I bet some people think that if they have this placement, they will die virgins. Well, that is not the case. In astrology, there are many ways things can manifest, but certainly not dying a virgin. Saturn in the 8H can indicate someone who is serious about sex and sexual matters, therefore people might PERCEIVE them as cold or frigid. There might be OCD issues here and if Saturn is paired with the Moon ( and esp if Moon in the 6H ) there might be eating disorder issues. Someone with this placement might have a deep fear of failure and have anxiety over it. There is good deliberation over taxes and money issues. Slowly and cautiously. There might be skepticism over the occult and supernatural.

Neptune in the 8H: Some say this placement might be associated with the supernatural, mediumship, seeing ghosts, spirits, etc. It’s up to you to decide. Anyway, this placement is associated with a high level of intuition. Even if you don’t see dead people, you really know what is up. You can feel energies/vibes from people easily. You can pick up if someone is a threat or not. Maybe if you don’t see ghosts or spirits, you can feel when someone is watching you when no one is there. This is a placement for high creativity and inspiration. You may be interested in poetry, but also interested in fantasy and sci fi. You are a very deep person but you might get your feelings hurt easily.

Uranus in the 8H: Life is just expected for you. You may get into a lot of dangerous and unexpected things in your life. It’s important for you to drive safely, always, and to always be aware of your surroundings. You may also inherit money unexpectedly. There is creative and artsy potential here. There is some intuition and supernatural experiences, but it comes and goes. Sexual style make be quirky. You might have some interesting ways of viewing sex.

Pluto in the 8H: Pluto is at “home” here. These people like control, power, and privacy. They are extremely private about their sexuality… whether they are a virgin or not, how many people they’ve slept with, who they are with, who they like, etc. I know I don’t like people knowing that info about me or not. I’m a very private person about intimate matters. Pluto is all about obsession and depending on what planet it has contact with will show where obsession is at. Pluto-Moon contacts esp when 8H and 6H can indicate an eating disorder or an obsession with food. These people can be obsessive in many areas of life. They generally take no BS and can detect fakeness.
