So far during Pluto in Capricorn, a Democrat won office in November of 2008 which was the beginning of a new ear. Obama promised change when he was running for office four years ago. Republicans absolutely could not stand having a Dem in office so everyone went out and elected a Republican congress in 2010. Since then, there have been more talks of cutting social and education programs and even more anti-abortion legislation.
Abortion is legal. It is fine to not like it. No one likes abortion. Don't believe in it? Don't do it. Mind your own business.
A lot of people cite religion. Although I think some of these people truly are religious, I think most of these legislators are "Anti-Woman." They want to reverse women into pre-feminism days. Days when a woman was barefoot and pregnant, popped out some every other year, and sometimes would die from complications. Keeping low income women pregnant keeps them out of the work force and more dependent on the State. It keeps them from entering higher ed and from having a real job someday. I think that is the one BIGGEST thing from low income women from succeeding. Men have it easier and harder at the same time, but I am not getting into that. "It is a woman's place to be at the home and take care of the kids."
Many of these people do not care for the babies when they are born. They care about the fertilized egg more than they do a Pre-Schooler. It's not about the kids. At least for most of them. It's about controlling women. Keeping them down. Reversing them into a previous state.
Obviously you can have a baby and have a full time career, but it's exhausting to do esp if you are breastfeeding. There is nothing wrong with motherhood, but why force motherhood on a young women who may not be ready for it or does not want children t at all?
Contraception is to prevent pregnancy but other reasons too. For a girl from a low income family, this can be an asset since I believe that when a poor woman has a baby it sets her back. It makes it extremely difficult to move forward. A girl from a middle class family at least has more support and a family with a larger income to help her. Her family isn't going to be happy about the pregnancy, but it will be easier for her to transition from motherhood to school or work. Being a mom isn't easy for anyone, but if you have more money or from a family with more money, there is one less stress off your shoulder.
Some people say "I don't want to pay for them to have sex." If a poor woman is on Medicaid and she can get contraception, it's better to pay for that than pay for an entire pregnancy and a new human being when it's born. Much better for her to be on contraception and have her finish a vocational or community college setting or even better a 4-year degree. That way, she has a chance of being a tax payer like you. And she probably has a job too and pays Social Security taxes as well.
And all other women simply have their insurances pay. Insurances they pay into themselves or their parents. NOT YOU. This guy on my FB friends list thinks he has to pay for all these women to have sex. Women are going to have sex. They like sex. Just like you. Deal with it.
it is interesting that these issues are brought up again during Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto in Cancer was during the WW1 and 1920s/early 1930's era. This was another women centered era where women fought for their right ( and won ) to vote. Many other issues related to the issues now happened back then to. Issues of motherhood arose; more women left the home when their men were in combat to work and during the Depression, some women had to find jobs to help support the family. My great grandma went to work in the 1930s, but she was not married yet and it was when she first met my great grandpa. But she was still working. Some women wanted more control over their bodies back then and there were dangerous abortions being done in back alleys. This was happening until 1971.
Capricorn and Cancer are on an axis, representing the 10H and 4H respectively. The 4H is about the home, the family, ancestry roots and emotional stability. The 10H is the public sphere, politics, your career, etc. Capricorn brings these issues to light. These issues were a problem during the Cancer era as well, but more so private issues no one spoke about.
