Moon aspects

The Moon represents, in astrology, our emotional natures. It is how we feel secure. It is what we need to feel secure. It is behavior. In men's charts, since women are associated with the moon, it reflects his feelings on women. The moon represents our mother and feelings towards our mothers.

Moon-Sun aspects: Please refer to "Sun aspects" blog.



Moon-Mercury aspects: A person who is able to speak about their emotions. They talk about their emotions. Another way this can manifest is someone who intellectualizes their emotions or rationalizes them. Soft aspects indicate someone who is level headed; able to speak of their emotions but remain calm and somewhat detached. More intense or negative aspects indicate someone who may speak too much of their emotions, or intellectualizes their emotions too much.

There is a love of learning; an emotional need to learn. Learning makes these people feel good. Learning makes these people feel secure. Communicating makes these people feel good and secure. They love to communicate, either verbally or in written form.

Enjoys being in the company of women who 1. Talk about their emotions, or talk things out. 2. Are level headed. OR 3. Highly communicative, left brained and logical.



Moon-Mars aspects: These people have a fighting spirit, whether it be for the good or for the bad. They are generally enthusiastic people who can be motivated to fight for some kind of cause. There is generally a temper here, but depending on if there is a stress aspect or not will determine how the anger is released. Trines and sextiles have a temper evoked through emotional situations, but can handle with ease. Oppositions, conj and squares have an intense anger or go from intense periods of moodiness. Can't control their anger; anger comes from nowhere. Stressful aspects create stressful anger situations with these people.

These aspects are also indicative of someone who is resilient and a 'fighter.' They make it through obstacles one after another. True for both the stressful and soft aspects, but the stressful aspects are where the 'fighting' is more pronounced. These people may be activists for women and children. Moon-Mars aspects give a good Feminists or Women's Rights Activist. On the other side it also indicative of someone who fights AGAINST women. In some men's chart this may be someone who takes anger and aggression on women in his life.



Moon-Venus aspects: These people find it easy to express emotional and romantic natures. Whatever the aspect is, there is a need to be romantic, in love or in a partnership. There is a need to relate to people. These are the people who may want to feel "whole" in a relationship and may find it hard to be independent. They are idealists and like to make a situation seem more romantic than it really is. Suckers for love.

Soft aspects are more indicative of someone who is a romanticist and finds it easy to express feelings of love and romance. Their emotional nature and relational nature are in harmony; they express naturally and are in sync. With the conjunction, they are dependent upon one another; exactly the same. Outgoing, sociable. In men, this shows a man who loves women or is fine with his feminine half of his personality. In women, this is a favorable aspect by society; will show a typical woman who is romantic, overly idealistic and not as independent. Unless there are other places in the chart that say otherwise, of course.

Hard aspects will show someone who may be overly dependent upon relationships and love to be happy or secure, which can be annoying to friends and family. This person may have a difficult time breaking free into independence even if they know it to be true. Hard aspects may show someone who has a hard time settling down or finds their romantic and emotional natures are at odds with each other.



Moon-Jupiter aspects: In general, this shows someone who is cheerful and optimistic. Someone who finds security in higher education and philosophy. If you are depressed other people may not believe you because you always sound okay! In fact, you like to look at the bright side of the situation. You are not one to be pessimist. Life never gets you down; you just keep on trying.

This is an indication of a bright and cheery personality. If you are truly depressed, you mask this with a smile. You like to smile.

With both stressful and soft aspects, this is a bad indication of overindulging, especially when you're not feeling so good about yourself, like in food or drink. You may be overly dramatic in emotional displays at times.



Moon-Saturn aspects: Saturn is restriction. Moon is emotions. Yes, follow the logic. You may be one to restrict your emotions. People with Moon-Saturn aspects do not want to burden other people with their emotions. In fact, they believe that emotions are a burden to themselves even. They prefer not to deal with them. Saturn is all about self-discipline. These people see emotional regulation as a form of self discipline. Emotions are unnecessary and project a bad persona onto other people.

For women, because of society, this is not the "best" placement to be feminine. Sure, you are feminine just because you have a vagina, but you're not one who is comfortable with your emotions. You probably feel uncomfortable with the idea of motherhood too. You prefer to be yourself.

If you're a man, you might be seen as too uptight, but people won;t look at you as if you're from another planet , though.

In some people's charts, a square or opposition, or conj, may be indicative of an eating disorder. Especially if the 6H or 8H are involved. Depression may also be here, but the native is not one to be crying. They will more than likely be apathetic and stoic than usual if they are depressed.



Moon-Uranus aspects: Uranus is anything but normal. It is random, strange, and revolutionary. Moon is emotions. Follow the logic. These people are weird, or at least they are on the inside. Their emotional natures are not normal at all; they are the type of people who can be logical and level headed, neglecting their emotions and then one day they might have a nervous fit.

Anxiety is highlighted here. Panic attacks. Uranus is associated with the nervous system. Can be true for soft or hard aspects.

People with Moon-Uranus aspects need to be constantly moving. They have a restless nervous energy.

On the plus side, they are tolerant and open minded, hanging with people of all walks of life. They are independent, quirky and entertaining. Women with these aspects are seen as the true "independent women." They do whatever they want! ( Same can be said for men as well! )



Moon-Neptune aspects: People with these aspects are very dreamy. They have a dreamy and overly idealistic nature to them. Highly sensitive and prone to getting their feelings hurt. Artistic and emotional.

Negative aspects can indicate someone who is an escapist, prone to drugs or alcohol, unrealistic views or feelings on life, overly sensitive and vulnerable.

If soft, the person is a daydreamer and idealistic, but not overtly so. They can turn their creativity into something concrete if there is Saturn present elsewhere in the chart.



Moon-Pluto aspects: Ah, the dreaded Moon-Pluto aspects. In general, these are the people who take no BS. They know fakeness when they see it. These people have intuition that is almost never wrong, even if they do not listen to their intuition. They typically have great insight on things and ideas; they are interested in what makes people tick emotionally.

The conj, opp or square indicates control issues that are deeply imbedded into them. They can turn their emotions off with a switch; there is a power to control with emotions. a need for control. In some people's charts, this is indicative of anorexia or binge eating disorder, since Pluto represents extremes. There could also be paranoia or jealousy issues. There is a strong need to control emotions.



With the soft aspects the need to control is there, but not as prominent. These people find their emotional issues easier to deal with. They are charismatic and penetrating people who still take no BS.

Some men with these aspects might see women as power objects; women whom they can manipulate and control. Some women with this aspect have so much control issues they can not trust anyone and would rather be loners.

Sun aspects

The sun, in astrology, is what most people know. The sun represents the everyday zodiac signs in the paper; it's what everyone knows. The sun! What people do not know about the sun is that it represents one's core personality and ego. Aspects to the sun will modify how someone is truly like their sun sign. Sun squares are likely to indicate issues with self esteem and insecurity.



SUN-MERCURY CONJUNCTION: Most people have this, perhaps the majority. Not everyone has this, but a lot do. Basically, this is not an important aspect and when you want to learn the meaning you see the house/s they are in. This just means that your ego and thinking are aligned. That's all. Again, like I said previously, you see the house/s the planets are in for further explanation.



Sun-Moon aspects: Your ego and emotions go hand in hand. Whether you have a soft aspect or stressful aspect, it is of VITAL importance that you are emotionally stable and secure as well have a good self esteem. If not, you will be insecure and that's not cool. The conjunction is USUALLY, but not always, an indication of someone who has a healthy self esteem. Sextiles and trines are usually the best for Sun-Moon aspects because it is an indication of a strong will, yet not too strong, and emotional resilience. The square is an indication of someone who is either weak emotionally/indecisive/lacks self esteem OR arrogant/insecure. The opposition is someone who has a lot of energy, yet unstable energy. It is an indication of arrogance or someone who is incredibly emotionally unstable at times. The person will need to balance the two together, their emotional nature and their ego. Their ego goes one way and their emotions in the opposite direction. Sun-Moon aspects are good for someone who has a will and will find a way; someone who is emotionally resilient and can get through any emotional situation.

Sun-Venus aspects: People with the conjunction are usually romantic souls, as long as the planets are not in Capricorn or Aquarius ( not to say those signs are not romantic, but they are not in the traditional sense of the word ). This does not make them unrealistic in love; they're just romantic and affectionate. It's easy for them to show affection to ones they love. These people find beauty in assertiveness and confidence. They are confident lovers and want to date confident people. If you lack self esteem, it's a turn off for them. This is both the stressful and soft aspects. The conjunction is obviously the most dynamic of all of them; the opposition will show someone who will need balance. Perhaps they want a confident lover, but are not confident themselves. Trine and sextiles are stable with love; perhaps wanting to start off as friends first and wanting to remain friends/in good relation if they break the love affair off.

Sun-Mars aspects: Women with any Mars-Sun aspect have a "masculine" vibe about them. No, it does not mean they look masculine and fart all the time in public, but they are strong willed and independent. This is either a turn off or a turn on to men, depending on the man. Whether you're a man or a woman with these aspects, you're strong willed, independent, and reliant only on yourself. You're a self starter and it amazes people what you can do on your own. Nothing is out of the way for you; you know who you are, what you want in life, and the drive to get it. The conjunction may be an indication of arrogance, or extreme confidence; someone who likes to be patriarchal and have the last word, even in women. The sextiles and trines are more stable; someone who is assertive but not an asshole. The square is also an asshole aspect, because the person has ego issues and is insecure. Also an indication of bad temper tantrums. The opposition is up, down, and all-around: the person may be motivated one minute and unmotivated the next. Out of control anger might be an issue here; you never know when they will explode. The person with the opposition might be someone who acts arrogant, but really is insecure.



Sun-Jupiter aspects: Ah, what a pleasant person I bet you are! Sun-Jupiter aspects are an indication of good self esteem and in some cases, arrogance or an expanding self esteem. In bad cases, it's an example of self-riotousness. In good cases, this is an indication of someone who is cheerful, confident, fun-loving and generous. The conjunction is an example of someone who is cheerful, confident, fun loving and generous and sometimes to the extreme! But they are not taken advantage of, because they know when to say "no." Some people with the conjunction have good intentions but "forget" they were supposed to do something. Others might have arrogance issues; they're the best and they know it! Trines and sextiles are stable, showing a stable person, who is generally generous and fun to be around. The squares are an indication of a know it all and arrogance. Oppositions show someone who is generous and has their heart in the right place, but may overextend themselves at times. They might say things, but their actions suggest otherwise.



Sun-Saturn aspects: People with these aspects are hardworking and self-disciplined. They are not always the life of the party, but they are a good person to ask for advice or to train you. They are usually not in trouble or out of line and if they ever are, they learn from their mistakes. In negative cases, they might have a lot of self-doubts about themselves, which can be annoying. The conjunction is everything I listed above, but in intensity. The square shows alot of self-doubts, but if the person can gain confidence, they should do fine. The opposition may be similar to the square, but the person will need to balance their ego with their discipline; the person with the opposition might declare they are authority without proper qualifications, or might be overly demanding. Trines and sextiles are usually good; the person is self-disciplined and hardworking, but has the confidence to get things done and keep on going through the game of life.



Sun-Uranus aspects: People with these aspects are individualists, whether they have the soft or the stressful. Indication of highly self-reliant people, who are independent and would rather carve their own way in the world. They like to shock; they do things that make people feel uncomfortable. Stressful aspects are indication that there is a person who does alot of things that make other people feel uncomfortable; they are fiercely independent to the point it creates friction in their lives.



Sun-Neptune aspects: People with these aspects are daydreamers. They are idealists. They are artistic. They are sometimes gullible and indecisive. The conj, square or opposition is someone who daydreams A LOT, but is not always aware of what is going on in the world. This is an indication of someone who is an escapist. Not being able to deal with the real world in a constructive manner is not always healthy; find other outlets if you do not do already. The trines and sextiles are an indication of an idealist but not someone who is out of touch with reality. Surely an interesting person indeed!



Sun-Pluto aspects: These people are charismatic. A lot of politicians have Sun-Pluto aspects. There is something magnetic about these people; they are charming and alluring. They have power, whether it is covert or overt. The square or opp may be someone who is arrogant and/or abuses power; may have control issues. Conjunction can go either way; the person is a healing and transformation agent, or power hungry. The trine and sextile means that the power flows naturally; there is a natural power about them and intensity, but they deal with it constructively. They are charismatic people, but not corrupt.

BASIC ASTROLOGY: ASPECTS

Sorry I have not written in a long time ( over a month! ) but I was clueless as to what to blog about. Anyway, in this article, I am going to discuss a basic component to astrology, which are the aspects. Without the aspects, astrology is useless and almost meaningless. At least in my opinion. Like the house placements, aspects help modify how your sign is played off in the world.

Aspects are at 8 degrees or less. A tight aspect is within 0-3 degrees. A loose aspect is like 7 or 8 degrees, and some astrologers go with 10 degrees.

THE CONJUNCTION: Is when two planets are 0-8 degrees from each other. BTW, although they are in the same signs MOST OF THE TIME, it is not always the case. Someone can have a Jupiter in Gemini at 0 degrees but Venus in Taurus at 28 degrees, and that is a Venus-Jupiter conjunction. Conjunctions are seen as both stressful and easy aspects. They bring good and bad and generally intense.

THE TRINE: Is when two planets are 0-8 degrees within a 120 degree angle from each other. Trines are generally harmonious, but dynamic. The energies work hand in hand and are not in friction with each other. Examples of a trine is Sun in Sagittarius at 7 degrees and Mars in Aries at 8 degrees. Another example of a trine is Moon in Libra at 2 degrees and Mars in Capricorn at 29 degrees.

THE SEXTILE: Like the trine, the sextile is another harmonious aspect. It is when two planets are 0-8 degrees within a 60 degree angle. It is not as dynamic as the trine. A lot of people consider sextiles to be boring. Everything works hand in hand, but generally less as intense as the trine. Examples of a sextile is Saturn in Capricorn at 9 degrees and Venus in Pisces at 11 degrees.

THE SQUARE: A square is when two planets are within 0-8 degrees within a 90 degree angle. Squares are generally feared. They represent friction, conflict, and obstacles. But the person is stronger when they overcome the square. An example of a square is Mars in Virgo at 22 degrees and Saturn Sagittarius at 26 degrees.

THE OPPOSITION: Within 180 degrees of each other, 0-8’. They can be either good or bad, stressful or fun. The native has two opposing forces in their life; they must learn moderation and to adapt the two equally in their life. Example is Jupiter in Sagittarius 10 degree and Mercury in Gemini at 15 degrees.

THE QUINCUNX: Is when two planets are within 150 degrees of each other, 0-8’. Quincunx is a stressful aspect and is kind of like the square, but it is a MINOR stressful aspect. It is when two energies do NOT understand each other AT ALL and adaptation is required!

There are minor aspects, like the semisextile and sesquiquadrate, and the novile, and all that jazz, but those I listed above are the most important.

Last one! Rising sign fun: Aquarius and Pisces rising

Last one of the series! I hope you appreciate reading these, because I do take time out of my day to write them. My writings are not perfect and only take one placement at a time, but I think it’s good for beginners who want to learn astrology better.

AQUARIUS RISING: Aquarius rising people are generally speaking: Independent, creative, weird and quirky. Usually the are the cute, quirky weird, but again, not everyone is going to accept them and like them. You will not always “get” an Aquarius rising, but you will realize that their random shit they do is rationalized. If an Aquarius person has breakfast at 3 am, there is a reason for that.

Many Aquarius rising people walk to the beat of a different drum. They are seen as highly intellectual and independent. Some Aquarius rising people are introverted and shy ( especially if Cap is on the 11th house cusp or Saturn is there ), and other Aquarius rising people are obnoxious and crazy. With an afflicted Uranus, Aquarius rising people are 1. Fiercely independent to the point that occasional irrational behavior may stem from that; can’t handle being grounded and lack discipline; or 2. Not very independent at all. Question their individuality. Want to fit in with a GROUP.

Whether the Aquarius rising is quiet or loud, they appreciate their friends very much. They tend to have only a few close friends because they find it hard to get close. Aquarius is logical, yet it is sensitive too. Caring, yet cold. It sounds like a contradiction, does it not? While Aquarius is logical and level headed, it has an inside sensitivity that wants to better the human kind. AN Aquarius rising wants to help people but from a distance.

They may come off as aloof, spaced out and absent minded. It is likely they are going to forget things, like their gloves on a table in a library, or drop their brush on the sidewalk.

Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 1st house: Everything I said above is intensified. A extremely Aquarian Aquarius rising. Uranus adds almost an abruptness to their nature. Friendliness is intensified, but also quirkiness and creativity also. These Aquarius risings may dress stranger or more original or creative than most other Aquarius risings. They may be extremely absent minded and aloof. You may talk to them and you can sense their mind is wandering elsewhere. It is possible that they can change their appearance rapidly and without notice. One minute you might see them with short platinum blonde hair and the next week it’s black. These Aquarius risings are very fixed, stubborn, yet they crave change. Change must be rationalized and for the better.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 2nd house: These Aquarius risings come off as A. Interested in acquiring material goods. Interested in becoming a businessperson. Has cool and unique ideas to make money. Somehow they always have money from interesting sources. B: Careless with money, or it seems that way. Spending too much money than they make, or being absent minded with it. Money can seem to come and go with these people. It’s never normal. These Aquarius rising people might have interesting things that they collect, or they may like novelty shops.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 3rd house: These Aquarius risings are very communicative. But their ways of communicating are different from other people. These are the Aquarius risings who say socially unacceptable things, especially in group settings where there are “normal” people. These are the Aquarius risings who enjoy talking for the sake of shocking people. They may enjoying talking about bizarre things, like aliens or “what if..” statements that are really weird. Generally, their thinking style is logical and creative. Highly intelligent, but a little on the weird side.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 4th house: These Aquarius risings are private and possibly introverted, but their values and what they need to be emotionally stable deals with independence and intelligence. In their home, you may notice the latest gadgets or weird little nick nacks. Or possibly there is really nothing, but white. They may not care at all what their home looks like. They might move residence a lot, especially when younger. Their family might be shocked of their strong opinions.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 5th house: These Aquarius rising people may like kids, but feel kids are not for them. Generally, children are going to like these Aquarius rising, even if the feeling is not mutual. These Aquarius risings may enjoy independent sport, like running or swimming. Or they might enjoy working in a team, too. Games and recreation is a little on the odd side, or they do things THEIR own way. They are highly creative people, with talents in writing, acting, or in sports. Dating wise, these are the Aquarius risings who seem to like to SHOCK people with whom they date. They may have many casual relationships.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 6th house: These Aquarius risings have fun at work, but they must work under their own terms. They like to be creative and spontaneous at work, so a 9-5 is not always a good idea. These Aquarius rising people get house work/work/school work done the best when no one is looking over their shoulder. They prefer to work independently.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 7th house: The independent planet in the RELATIONSHIP house. These Aquarius risings, when young, may be completely disgusted with relationships, finding them too emotionally draining, and Valentines Day as being over rated. All the same, they enjoy being with their close friends, but maintain distance and independence. As they get older, they may find that having a relationship is important, but they can’t just have ANYONE. The person whomever they are, must allow them their freedom and the freedom of self. Marriage is likely later in life, not at all, or abruptly when young.

Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 8th house: These Aquarius risings are the epitome of interesting, with interests delving into the dark side of human nature. Psychology, anthropology, the occult, etc. ( Even this placement is associated with witchcraft, apparently ). They understand people and things in depth. Another thing they are known for is being sexually experimental. They do not like to do the same thing twice— life should be different every day. Sometimes these Aquarius risings would rather read, observe, and do research on sexual matters, rather than doing the deed themselves. They would rather philosophize. Some Aqua risings with this placement are sexually attracted to people who are far, far away or unavailable ( like they are already dating or married to someone ).
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 9th house: These Aquarius risings are “The Thinkers.” When learning something new, it’s always the best to get the general idea first and then down to the details. Sociology is a possible higher education interest for these Aquarius risings. International studies, international business, foreign languages, history, etc, are all somethings they may be interested in. These Aqua risings may study astrology or astronomy ( Different studies with different goals ). Biology and Chemistry might also be interests. These Aqua risings want to travel the world, either for fun or for their education. It is possible they might get to study abroad, if they can do it financially and are lucky. They are broad minded and open minded, tolerant of all people. Or at least most people. Uranus can be dogmatic about liberal ideas.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 10th house: Independence and creativity are what these bring to the public image and career. These Aquarius risings get bored easily. They want a job to be both independent and intellectually stimulating. Jobs relating to research, the public, communication, university teaching, and sciences are good areas of working. The perfect absent minded professor!
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 11th house: Friendship is important to these Aquarius risings. They have more acquaintances than friends and maybe even popular! However, they like to have a distance from friends and prefer friends that are independent like themselves.
Aquarius rising, Uranus in the 12th house: These Aquarius risings might be shy and introverted. If they are not introverted, then they may come across as conforming and ordinary. Not much like an Aquarius at all. However, inside of them, they have a creative and independent outlet. In fact, they crave to follow their own dreams. Sometimes they are afraid of what other people will think of them and their dreams. They might be surrounded by a family who is very unsupportive of them and highly focused on conduct and physical appearance. These Aquarius risings have an inner weirdness, but they are afraid to express their quirky qualities. It seems like I have a friend like this.

PISCES RISING: Generally speaking, Pisces rising people are generally introverted and shy, especially in their younger years. This is due to just being afraid of speaking up, afraid of being rejected. As they get older, they can gain confidence and be more outgoing.

Now, as we all know, not all Pisces rising people are made the same. We must look at Neptune’s placement and where it is located at. Pisces has its good points and bad points.Some people with Pisces rising are just artistic and creative, and simply shy people. Loners, researchers, and independent. Yes, some Pisces rising people are independent. However, if Neptune is afflicted or if the person grew up in negative circumstances, other Pisces rising people are DEPENDENT, overly emotional, vague, manipulative and are creative, but don’t know how to use it.

 At some point in their lives, most Pisces rising people have felt lost or insecure, but they can get over it.
Optimistic thinking and hard work.

Most Pisces people, both men and women, appear super nice, super sweet, polite, and artistic. This placement is more socially acceptable for a woman to have, but there are just as many men with this placement too. With women, however, it can be a bad thing: There are stories of Pisces rising females being stalked or taunted. That is because Neptune is Pisces’s ruling planet and Neptune is illusion. Not to mention that many Pisces rising appear delicate and fragile ( even if they are not. )

They come off as being nicer than what they really are.

Pisces rising, Neptune in the 1st house: Everything I said is intensified above. Neptune adds more glamour and mystery to the persona than Pisces rising alone.
With Pisces rising AND Neptune in the 1st house ADDS even more sensitivity. Neptune is all about illusion. These people are masters at changing who they are and their persona. However, this can be due to not really knowing who they are and what they want to be. This can certainly be a problem, especially in high school. With the two placements adds a more potential for weird stalkers. It’s best to learn martial arts.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 2nd house: This placement can manifest in many different ways, like anything in astrology. Number One: These Pisces risings may come off as MATERIALISTIC. They dress nice, talk nice and dine with style. Which means they probably charge everything and are in debt. Unless they are rich, which could certainly be true. Neptune is associated with celebrities and rich people, too. Number Two: They could live in poverty, OR are cheap. They might not really care at all what they look like, or what their values are. They may place a low value on money. “Money doesn’t matter. Money is the root of evil.” For some reason, I think of the people who go dumpster diving.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 3rd house: These Pisces rising people communicate with sensitivity. They communicate emotionally and tactfully. There could be an aptitude towards literature, creative writing, and poetry. The mind is creative and innovative. Right brain thinker. Might have detested science and math classes, but liked art and music classes.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 4th house: Highly private people, loners. The home is their sanctuary. The home is a place for relaxation, meditation and to create art work. These Pisces rising people are very family oriented and care deeply about their siblings and parents. Does not mean there will not be any problems, though. They are deeply caring individuals.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 5th house: These Pisces rising people are not always aware of their potentials and sometimes they need a little “push” from friends and family. Indicates an interest in reading, meditating, music, and art. Hobbies include those. Sensitive towards children and nurturing.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 6th house: These Pisces rising enjoy being helpful and some people may see them as doormats, walking all over them. Health wise, they either don’t care about it AT ALL and eat junk food all the time, or they are aware of food and their body, maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Neptune also represents illusion, so besides the obesity and junk food idea, there is also anorexia nervosa. Also supported by this placement. Pisces rising, Neptune in the 7th house: Very relationship oriented, but sometimes too much so. Sometimes it seems that they’re self esteem rests of having a partner. In sexual matters, they know who wants them and who doesn’t. Generally speaking, they are either very strong sexually or not at all. Sometimes they might have a hard time saying what they want. They might put sex on a pedestal and idealize it. They might rather FANTASIZE about sex than actually do it. They are creative and open minded sex partners.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 9th house: Shows an aptitude towards academics in higher education, whether it is science, music, art, or the social sciences. Generally they are more right brained, but some do go into the sciences. World view is based on empathy and emotions. There is an interest in being by the ocean or traveling to ocean side towns. May dream about traveling the world.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 10th house: This Pisces rising might constantly change their jobs, because they don’t know what to do. Other Pisces risings with this placement know what they want to do ( Neptune in the 10H is not the end of the world. Having Saturn here too helps ). others go in service oriented jobs or jobs helping people. Social workers, nurses, nutritionists, child care workers, etc. Some of the people with this placement DREAM of being famous. Yes, it is possible, though. Pisces rising, Neptune in the 11th house: These people idealize friendship. They attract friends that are like them: artistic and sensitive. Sometimes they are screwed over in friendship, where they thought there was a friendship and they were completely wrong. Prefer to be around like minded people, and organizations they agree with. Humanitarians.
Pisces rising, Neptune in the 12th house: Very shy Pisces rising, especially in childhood. I really don’t want to be mean, but I want to say this in the nicest way possible. Possibility of mental disorders, bullying ( being bullied ), emotional problems and a general lack of self esteem and self awareness. If they truly are emotionally healthy, they are spiritually inclined, psychic and super creative.

Sagittarius rising: Sagittarius rising people have something about them: something energetic, child-like, fun loving and interesting. Child like does not mean they are childish, but as teenagers, they might have been childish. They have a youthful vibe about them, because they never seem to tire. In fact, many supermodels have Sagittarius rising, not necessarily because they are beautiful, but because of the youthful appearance.
Sagittarius rising can come in many forms depending on Jupiter, which we will get into later. Sagittarius rising people come off as either: 1. Overly outgoing, overly friendly and sometimes rudely blunt. 2. Overly blunt and thinking they know everything, but in reality they don’t know shit. 3. Honest, yet philosophical and wise as well as cultured. It depends on how mature and evolved they are.

Sagittarius is the “seeker of truth.” These people will say what the truth is and sometimes they are still biased.
Sagittarius is associated with foreign culture and travel. Some Sagittarius rising people love travel and traveling. On their Facebook, they might have pictures about all their travels. If they can not travel, they travel in their mind or learn about different countries and cultures.

Sagittarius rising likes to talk and discuss. If they are evolved and more wise, then they are interesting and insightful people to talk to. Generally speaking, these people are independent and creative and possibly into activities and sports.

Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 1st house: Everything I said above is intensified. A very Saggy rising rising. These Sagittarius risings truly like to have fun and they make it into their everyday personality. Sometimes there might be too much partying and over indulgences. These Sag risings need to learn moderation, especially in partying and food. Jupiter represents expansion. Some astrologers think that overweight Sag risings may have this placement, but you be the judge.
Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 2nd house: Money making and materials are important to the persona, but does not necessarily make them selfish. These Sagittarius rising people seem to have it all and seem to have easy lives. In fact, they really might. They might have everything handed down to them and eventually become lazy. However, there still could be a tendency towards poverty as well. Some Sagittarius rising people might spend spend spend money and the money they get is gone in a flash. On the good side, this is an indication of generosity.
Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 3rd house: These Sagittarius risings LOVE to talk. It might seem that all they do is TALK TALK TALK. Communication and learning are parts of their outward personality, persona. Education is important to them and they are lucky to have a good education, especially K-12. However, the 3H is all about details and analysis, Jupiter is about expanding the mind and the big picture. Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 4th house: Like anyone who has their chart ruler in the 4th house, they are going to be rather private and family oriented. Jupiter here might show a large and fun-loving extended family. These Sag risings love to be with their family and are generally more private than most Sag risings. Although they may like to talk and are gregarious, they value interdependence within the family.Nurturing is generally seen as a time to have fun and play, but these Sag risings whether male or female might have issues coming down to the emotional side of nurturing.
Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 5th house: These Sag risings like to perform, whether it’s on the stage or on the soccer field. Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 7th house: These Sag risings are rather relationship oriented, much more so than other Sag risings. This does not make them any less independent than other Sag risings. At first early in life, these Sag risings might have a hard time settling down, but that’s only because they want to find someone good enough. When they finally do, relationships are very important. This can manifest in many ways: 1. These Sag risings might be benevolent and fun loving husbands/wives who have “good luck” in marriages. 2. Jupiter is expansion: There might be a tendency towards extramarital affairs or more than on spouse.A possible tendency to marry foreigners or someone whom they work with or went to school with.

Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 9th house: These Sagittarius risings are very cerebral. Jupiter is at “home” in the 9th house. These Sagittarius risings are very tolerant and open minded, accepting of all people from all walks of life. They are interested in learning about everything and everyone, and possibly have generated a vast amount of knowledge on religion, philosophy and culture. There is a strong drive to learn or travel overseas. Finding the “truth” or meaning in life is important to them and these Sagittarius risings want to experience it all. They come off as wise, more wiser than their years, even if they are only 20 years old.University/college is much more pleasing to them, because of the less restricting foundations in the formative years.
Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 10th house: Does this mean they are career oriented personas? Sure, it very well could. But basically, these Sagittarius risings are career oriented or very interested in what they could do as a career. With Jupiter here, there is an interest in having a job where they can travel overseas. A job relating to international business is a possibility, or a professor. Expands career, as long as confidence and work ethic are there.
Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 11th house: These Sag risings are popular and seem like they have a lot of friends. In a traditional sense, popularity may not be important to them, but people gravitate to them because of their fun loving and free attitudes towards life. Having Jupiter in the 11th house adds a tendency towards being open minded and tolerant of all people. Expands the friend and network circle. Expands humanitarianism.
Sagittarius rising, Jupiter in the 12th house: These Sag risings might be more shy and introverted than most Sag risings. the independence is clear. They are very independent and so much so that they are loners. These Sag risings prefer introspection and contemplation to talking and being with superficial people. Travel is an interest. There is a generous bent; they like to give to the unfortunate or may participate in community service. These Sag risings are honest, but gracefully honest. There is not rude bluntness.

CAPRICORN RISING: Capricorn risings come off as responsible, mature and introverted. Some Cap risings come off as even intimidating even. My one friend has a Capricorn rising and she is very responsible, but some of her co workers rudely call her a “bitch” behind her back.

As children, they may have been introverted due to shyness and a social anxiety. As they get older, the introversion stays but they can come out of their shell and work with people. Capricorn rising people have a few intimate close friends. Older people may like them when they are young, like in college, because they appear so mature.

Capricorn rising is said to look older when they are younger, but younger when they are older. If you’re a Capricorn rising, then  you can be your own personal judge with this.

Capricorn risings are serious, or at least they come off as serious. Some people may wrongly think they are “boring.” Capricorn risings are logical and level headed, but they do not give in easily to emotions. to see their emotions, they must trust you first.

This does not mean they do not have a sense of humor, though. Their sense of humor is sarcastic and witty, but some people may not get it.

Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 1st house: Everything above in intensified. Saturn in the 1st house adds maturity and introversion to the character; a no-nonsense and practical persona. At a young age, these Cap risings come off as very serious and unlike other children. Everything is taken seriously: work and school, and relationships and friendships. Obnoxious people annoy these Cap risings.Possibility of being self-conscious, much more than other Capricorn risings.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 2nd house: These Capricorn risings are very materially and financially driven. They are hard working, but may be too concerned with money. If Saturn is well aspected, then they are able to spend their money and have fun, but in moderation. If Saturn has stress aspects, these Cap risings work and work and work, but have no fun and their money sits in the bank with cobwebs on it. Financial security is important, but these Cap risings need to learn a balance.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 3rd house: Anal retentiveness is pronounced here, especially in school. These Capricorn risings are known as being smart, but in the concrete and precise way. Their thinking is precise and logical. They like to be perfect students, good at everything. Stress happens, even at a young age, when they do not do as well on an assignment or test. May have been teachers pets. Quiet, shy at a young age, but opens up as he/she gets older. Hand writing style is small, neat and precise. Everything is done with precision.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 4th house: These Capricorn risings are super private and family oriented, whether they had a large family or a small family. There is a tendency to control emotions and emotional security rests upon this. May take a nurturing or family role importantly and dutifully, but has a hard time opening up and showing emotions. As a mother or father, these people might be aloof or they might have had aloof parents.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 5th house: These Capricorn risings are creative, but not obnoxiously so. They can endure a creative project for a long time and their art/projects are important. Everything they do has importance. They may be seen as rather serious and not like to party, which is O.K. These Capricorn risings have a hard time in dating, especially in high school. They want their dating to be meaningful and most high schoolers are not ready for that.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 6th house: These Capricorn risings might appear to be “workahoulics”. It seems they are always at work, or they might have two jobs while going to school, or two jobs while trying to balance a family too! Anal retentiveness is increased here: there are OCD issues surrounding food, nutrition and sanitation.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 7th house: These Capricorn risings are very relationship oriented. That does not mean that they are always in a relationship for the sake of a relationship. Cap/Saturn is too rational for that. If they are not paired, friendships are meaningful and important. These Capricorn risings can handle being single for long periods of time and marriage might come late. They are late bloomers in intimate relationships, but they take the situation seriously. Marriage is not taken lightly.Can walk away from a toxic relationship and not look back. These are the people who will urge their friends, “He’s a jerk. Why are  you with him? Can’t you just leave?”
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 8th house: This does not mean these Capricorn risings are sex addicts, but if you know them well, sex is taken seriously and it must be of importance. There is a need for control in that area of life. No, it does not mean rape or being a rapist. Thy basically want to be in control of their sexual nature and what happens to them. It’s easy for them to say “no” if they do not want sex. These Capricorn risings are good at managing other people’s money, sometimes better than their own.Tax time is always a good time.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 9th house: These Capricorn risings take their world view and philosophy seriously. Some might be labeled as narrow minded, but they are realists when it comes to the world stage. Not everyone can get fed, but we can take measures to make the solution better. Higher education is taken seriously. Perfectionist in higher education.Higher education is often used to improve themselves or improve their career status. Higher education is used for practical and realistic matters. These Cap risings are not going to want to major in Art History or Philosophy of the Near East, unless they know they can get a job in it. An indication of staying in school for a long time, possibly getting through grad school or gaining highest level of degrees, like M.D. or Ph.D.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 10th house: These ones are very career oriented, in a very traditional way. Public image is important to them. They come off as responsible and mature; employers love them. They are ambitious and know what they want out of life, willing to take the steps to climb the ladder. Business, research, doctors, etc, all good areas.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 11th house: Friendship and networking are important to these Cap risings. Yes, friendship is taken seriously and is important. It must be meaningful. These Cap risings might join a few really good humanitarian organizations, and have a few close friends rather than acquaintances.
Capricorn rising, Saturn in the 12th house: Like most Cap risings, these ones are mature and know what they want in life. I think they know a path they can take to be their best, but Saturn in the 12th house will delay or show some insecurities. They want to be something in life, but there is always a voice with doubts. If they listen to the voice, they will nto succeed. But this is a placement for someone who has seen many setbacks but keeps on jumping on the bandwagon.

Astrology, Food and Eating Habits

I decided I am going to take a break for a couple days from writing the rising sign series. I want to write about something different, and something I’m interested in: food, nutrition, dietetics. I want to explore how you can look at food and nutrition from an astrological perspective.

I’m going to school to be a dietitian and obviously in practice, astrology is not going to come up unless a client asks me. But I’m interested in exploring food and nutrition in relation to astrology.

Why do we have the food habits we do? Environment plays a role. When we are children, we eat what our parents give us. But what happens when we form our own individualized likes and dislikes? Do you ever find your eating habits are different from  your family’s?

In astrology, we look at food in relation to the Moon. Generalized health, nutrition and food is related to the Sixth House. Basically, when looking at food and nutrition we can look at the Moon sign, Moon aspects and what’s going on in your sixth house.

Moon signs:
Aries moon is going to want to eat quickly. This can be a problem if he/she doesn’t know when they are full. Eating slower can produce a better feeling of fullness. Aries alone is going to produce someone who is impatient with cooking and wants things quick and convenient.
Taurus moon likes eating, but that does not make them obese. Taurus moon likes the sensuality of food, eating it and eating it slowly. There might be a tendency to want to eat too many cakes and sweets. Taurus moon is going to like to cook. There might be a “foodie” tendency.
Gemini moon likes to snack. These people are likely to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day. They can be either health nuts or junk food addicts. It just depends. Anything quick to open and eat on the go is good.There might be a tendency towards inconsistent eating patters: varying from healthy eating to junk food eating, or going back and forth between vegetarianism and omnivore-like eating.
Cancer moon loves food, but again, does not make them fat. Just because someone likes to eat does not make them fat. Cancer moon likes all kinds of food, ranging from processed foods to homemade foods. Cancer is going to prefer home cooked meals, but knows that sometimes it is unrealistic to eat home cooked meals everyday. There is a tendency towards comfort foods. When I think of Cancer moon, “Olive Garden” comes to mind. ( I am sorry if you do not like Olive Garden. That is just what I think of ).
Leo moon is willing to spend more money on a food if it is high quality. As children, they may have been junk food junkies. There is a love of “rich” desserts. Cheesecake and expensive dark chocolate come to mind. Leo moon people are either going to be: A. overly concerned and dogmatic about eating habits. A.k.a going to Whole Foods to buy only organic foods. B. addicted to junk foods and sweets. There is going to need to be a balance and the balance can be found.
Virgo moon is traditionally associated with health. Low-calorie, low sodium, organic, fresh, etc. Virgo moons are going to like easy to make, fresh and super healthy foods. Smoothies, sandwiches, nuts, hummus and pita bread, etc. If you’re a Virgo moon and you eat nothing but junk food, look to your Moon aspects.
Libra moon is associated with sweets. Libra moon have a sweet tooth, but that does not mean they can not combat the sweet tooth. Likes all kinds of food and a variety of food, anything sensual. In good cases, a Libra moon is a balanced eater who eats everything in moderation. He/she has their vices, but is able to balance it out!
Scorpio moon people either care a lot about what they eat or not at all. A former friend of mine had a Scorpio moon and would never eat at all in the morning and afternoon and then binge eat at night. Bad idea.Able to transform eating habits and heal through food.
Sagittarius moon likes to eat, thanks to Jupiter. Anything and everything goes. Sagittarius moon is daring at what they eat, sometimes liking “ethnic” foods. ( Chinese take out, Thai take out, Chipotle Mexican girl? ) Someone I know with Saggie moon works at Chipotle! Sagittarius moon is not always the healthiest eater in the world.
Capricorn moon is a disciplined eater, only eating when he/she is hungry. In extreme cases— anorexia. Capricorn moon never eats too much and eats fairly healthy. Capricorn moon wants “the best” and is willing to pay more for quality, fresh food. Same goes for eating out. Snacks are on healthy alternative, like nuts or blueberries.
Aquarius moon has strange eating habits. Nothing is ever normal. Pizza for  breakfast ( Sure! ) Somedays breakfast might not be consumed at all, while other days they may have a hearty and healthy breakfast. Sometimes food is consumed at 3 a.m, and other times dinner is at 5 pm. Quirky eating habits, creative preparers of food. Might have “odd” combination, but they don’t care. Aquarius moon does whatever it wants and that goes with food too. Generally healthy eaters, even if choices are a little strange.
Pisces moon may grow up eating junk food and fast foods, and they may have liked it even. Fond of fish or sea food as meals. Likes sweets, cakes, and anything decadent. Emotional eating, or emotional NOT eating if stressed. Food habits are swayed by emotions, either good or bad.

Stressful aspects: Square, Opposition, Quincunx

Moon aspects to the Sun
Soft: Bad eating habits are easy to overcome, because the person has good self-efficacy and self-esteem. They generally know they can fix themselves with work. These people can learn to have a balanced diet and eat in moderation.
Stressful: Bad eating habits are not always easy to overcome, but it can be done. Emotional problems might be due to low self esteem, which can have an effect on eating. Low self esteem is going to make change harder to overcome.

Moon aspects to Mercury:
Soft: An on the go person, but is able to balance emotions and logic. Has a healthy diet, knows what is healthy and what is not. Likely to do a lot of snacking and small meals, but not necessarily unhealthy foods. Likes to talk when eating. Sometimes eats fast, but not too fast.
Stressful: An “on the go” person as well, but sometimes “forgets” to eat or is too busy to eat. Snacks a lot, but likely to skip breakfast or skip other meals. Might rationalize that skipping meals will keep from gaining weight or a way to lose weight. May try to eat healthy, but not always work.Anxiety and stress may influence eating habits than most people.

Moon aspects to Venus:
Soft: Likes to eat for pleasure and may sometimes overindulge in food and drink. Likes sweets and candies, as well as comfort foods and foods of all kinds. A “foodie.” However, eating habits are capable of being changed easily, because trine and sextile are easier to handle. May eat candy and sweets, but is not always overeating everyday. Likes to eat out.
Stressful: May not like to EVER cook, preferring to spend money at fast food places or restaurants. May not even like going to the grocery store. Pleasure eating and sometimes eating out of boredom. There is a love of sweets and candy and may sometimes be eaten too much. A person with these aspects may hate going on a diet, because they may feel ‘restricted’ since they can’t eat their pleasure foods.

Moon aspects to Mars:
Soft: Oftentimes a fast eater. Does not always take time to chew the meal. Food is often seen as a biological need more than a sensual or emotional need, but can still enjoy food! Food can be used as energy or fuel to exercise and do work. These people might be into exercise, body building or sports and sees food as “fuel.” Impatient with food, likes food to be ready, likes easy-to-make foods. When eating fruits and veggies, eats it raw because they are too impatient to fix them. ( I have Moon trine Mars, and that is true with me ). Able to find the discipline and regime to eat a healthy diet, though.
Stressful: Always in a “rush.” Sometimes too rushed to eat, or soo rushed when eating he/she does not fully enjoy the food. They eat the food and it’s gone. There is no joy in the food. Food is purely for biological reasons, not for sensual or emotional. Too impatient to cook or prepare meals, even if it’s just a sandwich. Too inclined to have other people make him/her food, or will rely on already made food. Possibility of liking fast food. May think “Well I exercise a lot or I work out a lot, so I can eat a 1200 calorie McDonalds meal.”

Moon aspects to Jupiter:

Soft: Joy of eating. Loves eating. Possible “foodie.” Interested in eating foods from different cultures and countries. May like ethnic foods that are prepared, or “ethnic” foods like fast food Chinese at the mall or Chipotle.
Stressful: Loves eating and has the joy of eating, but Jupiter represents expansion. May eat too much. May resent feeling restricted when on a diet, or told to eat healthier. Everything with the soft aspects still holds true, except these ones have more of a problem with moderation. ( unless something else shows in their chart, like a strong Saturn or a Saturn aspect as well to the Moon ).

Moon aspects to Saturn:
Soft: Disciplined when eating. If ate a lot of junk food as a kid able to find the discipline as an adult to eat a healthier and balanced diet. The diet is generally balanced. Obviously no one is perfect so there may be fast food here and there. Prepares most of the food and buys most of the food at the store. Take the time to chew and enjoy the food. Slow eater.
Stressful: Eating can be used as defense mechanism. Stress can influence eating. Eating may be too restricted. Possible for anorexia or orthorexia ( the obsession with only eating pure, organic foods to the point it makes them look emaciated ). Definite pronounced eating healthfully, but more so for control or overly disciplined reasons.

Moon aspects to Neptune:
Soft: Likes sea food. May like “haute” food or expensive food. These people may want to glamourize themselves by eating healthfully or going to expensive places like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. As a kid, there may have been a tendency to eat junk food. Likes sweets or foods for pleasure, but is able to keep that in a balance.
Stressful: Emotional overeating or anorexia ( the delusion that they are eating healthfully and/or are fat ). The overeating kind is likely to give up on a diet because they may believe they are a failure. A love of fast food, fried foods, junk foods, etc. Foods are a comfort.

Moon aspects to Pluto:
Soft: If there is any bad eating habits, these people know there is room for improvement and can transform their eating patterns. May be into herbal remedies, organic foods, fresh foods, or using food as healing. Perhaps into supplements or vitamins. Takes food seriously.
Stressful: Compulsive overeating, bulimia and anorexia are possibilities here, if there is a 6H/8H connection. May have been a junk food junkie as a kid and anorexia as an adult. Food is used as a form of control.

Rising sign fun: Libra and Scorpio rising

The purpose of this series is so that people can read about their rising sign. However, not all Libra or Scorpio risings are the same. The rising sign's ruler and where it is located also helps modify how you show off your rising sign. ( Aspects to the Asc and planets in the 1st house also modify this, but I'm not going into that in this series! )

Libra rising: My mom is a Libra rising. She is too friendly and is so friendly that she attracts weirdos. One weirdo is particular is an obese man who has a fetish for women who wet their pants. ( I wonder what his chart looks like? )

There is a stereotype about Libra risings that they are the "most fairest of them all." Many people on Yahoo! Answers think that Libra rising men look gay. Well, I'm sure some of them do, but certainly not all of them. Yes, Libra risings do care about what they look like, but saying they are Barbie dolls or gay is out of line and not true.

Libra rising is sociable, outgoing and generally fun to be around. They are sweet, unless something else indicates in the chart ( like if they have Mars in the 1st house, which would make them more blunt. ). Generally speaking, Libra risings are tactful and are socially smart. They know the socially "right" thing to do in any given situation. ( Venus in the 3H, by some people, is seen as "stupid." ) If Venus is afflicted to either Mercury or Jupiter, then the Libra rising person may be "mentally lazy." That said, they might not want to do their homework because it is boring. Self-discipline is going to need to be achieved for academic success in high school and university. On the plus side, their thinking style is creative and more right brain oriented. They like to read poetry or possibly even love stories. They like writing to be pleasant and they like to read pleasant stories. No matter what Venus sign they are in, they are generally not possessive and it is important for them to be talkative in any relationship. They do not prefer quiet people, and if you are quiet, you better speak up.
Libra rising, Venus in the 4th house: These Libra risings are very domestic. It is a possibility a housewife could have this placement. Even if they are a man, these Libra risings like their homes to be super pleasant. They like their homes to look like "Good Housekeeping." There is a "I take no BS" attitude. These Scorpio risings are able to transform their appearance and mannerisms. You might find these ones have been through many physical transformations in their life.
