Analyzing a Chart #1: my mother

This is the chart of my mother. She was born June 21, 1968, at 3 pm in Lakewood, Ohio.

I am starting a basic analyzing chart series. This should help people be able to see the chart as a whole as well as seeing the minor details of it all.

Basically, what I will do is state a fact about my mother and show where this is in her natal chart:

1. My mother has been prone to addictions of all sorts; caffeine, smoking, and worse; drugs- both illegal and prescription. She’s done all the hard drugs as well as “soft” ones like weed. Her favorite prescription is Xanax, and she is even obsessed with over the counter cough medicines.

A: Neptune is all about addictions. When Neptune is paired up with a personal planet, like the Sun, Moon or Mars, then the person may have issues regarding a sensitivity to addictions. These addictions serve the purpose of escaping reality.

My mother has a Moon-Neptune opposition. Hard Moon-Neptune aspects are associated with drugs, only because of a highly idealistic and escapist nature. This is not to say everyone else with this aspect is on drugs, but it is only ONE way it can manifest. I attribute my mother’s drug issues with her Moon-Neptune opposition first and foremost.

The 2H of values has her Neptune there; 2H also deals with self worth. Neptune there could indicate negative self worth or an illusion that she sucks. When it is opposed to her Moon in the 7H ( of other people ), she wants to be liked so badly she will submit to anything they want her to do. She was first introduced to these drugs via best friends and boyfriends when she was a teenager. She often had feelings of rejection and wanted approval so badly, it is likely this is what started it. A lack of approval of those closest to her is something she values and helps with self worth. Lack of self worth may lead to substance abuse to escape reality.

Alcohol was also a problem with her. However, not so much anymore.

2. As a child I often would hear my mom ask people “Am I a scum bag?” or other derogatory names. These were names she was called as a teenager. When she had a mental break down in 2000, she was mimicking everything she was name called.

I also attribute this to the Moon-Neptune opposition with the 2H and 7H involved. I think a lot of people in her life fucked around with her self worth, making her feel vulnerable and tortured. Oppositions often are linked to other people in our lives.

3. She has really no concept of money. For years, she lived off her parents and would beg for money. Back in the 1990’s, she would max out my grandmother’s credit card, getting my grandparents in heap loads of debt. my mother had her own credit card debt as well. She always wanted to live the dream without really working for it. She is very unreliable with money.

A; Neptune in the 2H can manifest in many ways. One way is the way my mother lived, living an illusion and having a blast with credit cards. Now this was mostly the 90s. She ruined it for herself for today. The woman lived off her Social Security now and has rarely worked her entire life.

In fact, her dream was to be a stay at home mom ( who doesn’t clean or cook ) that goes shopping and looks glamourous all the time. She loved to look glamourous when she was younger, but not so much anymore since money has been cut off.

Her money comes from those close to her, which is how her Moon-neptune opp. Saturn also falls into the 7H, forming a close quincunx with Neptune. In many ways, the people closest to her tried to be as restrictive as they could with her.

4. Marrying early, but ending up alone.

My mother had me young and she was a young bride. I was conceived only after 2 months after my parents met. In 1990, they were married when I was 18 months old.

My mother has a Libra rising ( again, her old glamourous nature LOL ) but her DC is Aries. Again, my father has Venus in Aries, and my mother married him hastily without even thinking about it. My mom’s 7H ruler, Mars, is in the 9H. In this case, my father is an ordinary White American man. However, he and my mother agreed mostly on religious and moral things. They weren’t too different in philosophy and world view. Neither of them were educated, or interested in education ( as strange as it sounds with my mother’s packed 9th house ).

My mom was as eager to divorce my dad as she was to marry him. I suppose she got bored and impatient with him. He had lost his job at that time and had refused to find a job. I am not saying my father was not at fault, but my mom could have got a job when he stayed at home.

My mother’s Saturn falls into the 7H. Usually astrology interpretations say the person will marry an older person or marry older. My mother did marry someone older, but I would not say my dad was more mature. I think they were about the same in their maturity ( or immaturity ) level at the time. She hasn’t had much luck in the dating pool, but did manage a long term relationship for 4 years in the late 90’s. Since then, she has only had casual affairs.

Perhaps she may see other people as a restriction to her. I can sometimes see that.

5. My mother had 5 boyfriends at once during one time. ( Not the same time she was married to my dad though ).

My mother has Venus in the 9H squaring Uranus in the 12H. This is not to say that all Venus-Uranus squares are going to make people cheat. Venus in the 9H wants to have fun. Venus in the 9H is playful. Venus in Cancer is emotional and needing of support and love. Venus in Cancer women want to be accepted and they want approval. Most importantly, they want to feel like they are loved. In my mom’s case, I believe that her Venus-Uranus square wanted freedom and to have fun. After all my mom has always liked to have fun with her dates. And she’s never been good with commitment either. However, with her Venus in Cancer, it becomes more complicated than just wanting to have fun and experiment, although that had a lot to do with it. My mother has a strong psychological need to be liked and to be approved of ( this may come back from my grandpa yelling at her during her early childhood years ). I think she had a hard time saying “no” to men who wanted to go on a date with her.

My mother did not have boundaries ( another pun for Moon opposed Neptune. )

A lack of boundaries, hard time saying no to men, and a psychological need to be liked, as well as lacking of discipline, a need for freedom and a love of having fun will produce my mom and how she had 5 boyfriends at once in the mid-late 1990s. Plus, she was really pretty at the time too.

My mother has Sun square Uranus as well as Mars square Uranus, promoting independence and individuality. Her freedom comes with conflict; others saw her as rebellious.

—-

I think I am done. As well as all of that, she was raped at least 5 times during her life. I do not know what would cause that. If anyone else has any ideas, let me know. Unless it’s the Moon-Neptune thing again. Mars square Uranus can also indicate a reckless nature, but we don’t want to put the blame on the victim.

Depression has also been a problem with her as well, but I attribute that to her Moon aspects.

my mother’s Chiron ( the wounded healer ) is in her 6H. I believe for her to truly heal she needs to get her life organized and on track, quit smoking and live a healthier lifestyle. Her North Node ( in Aries ) falls into the 6H. I believe this shows she needs in this life time to add routine and a healthier lifestyle. She needs to be more assertive ( Aries )

OPPOSED THE ASC

A few weeks ago I blogged about conjunctions to the Asc with my own interpretations. Today I will be doing the opposite; when planets are opposed to your Asc.

Note: When a planet is opposed to your Asc, it means it is conjunct your DC. Oftentimes, this will manifest in a way that you will need to balance energies that are within you. This also represents other people in your life ( DC-7th house ) and people who marry/date.

Sun opposed the Asc: These people aren't usually submissive, but they are the types of people who seem to always want to be in a relationship. If not a relationship, they always want to be with their best friends. They often care about what other people think; sometimes living through other people. It is important to them to be liked and popular. It is important to them to have the approval of their best friends and/or partner.

These people are outgoing and sociable. They know other people well, and are good at negotiating and counseling. They prefer to be around other people and to help other people.

Some people with this placement are dependent, but not all of them. Frequently, they like to ask for opinions from other people before making a decision. In some cases this can be rather annoying. People with this placement will need to learn more independence.

In some cases the spouse or partner might be a Leo-type; charismatic, ambitious, yet family oriented and fun-loving. If the Sun makes square aspects, the partner might be dominating, selfish, and always wanting the last word in.

Moon opposed the Asc: These people are generally quite shy, yet likeable. They are seen as sensitive/nurturing by other people. In many cases, these people make other people's emotions personal to them. It is easy for them to identify other people's emotions. This can be good and bad; they are good listeners and make a sensitive partner themselves. But it can be overwhelming and draining for them sometimes to handle. In most cases, they might wish they didn't identify with other people's emotions as much.

The only real problem I can see with this aspect is identifying too much with other people's feelings. In some cases, I can see the person being seen as overly emotional, or weird even for caring about other people.

With the moon opposed the Asc, it is conjunct the DC. Their partner may be emotional and sensitive, being a good listener and a good nurturer. If Moon makes square aspects, the partner may be too moody, or too emotionally needy, or too jealous/possessive ( if there is square to Pluto ).

Mercury opposed the Asc: People with Mercury opposed the Asc are good conversationalists. They can talk about anything and everything with most people. They can be shy in some cases, but are more than likely sociable and lively. These people are intelligent and witty, but are able to think of ideas better when they are with a partner or best friend.

When with a partner or best friend, they prefer to debate or have intellectual discussions. These people brainstorm well with other people. They can think of a good soluation when they brainstorm with other people.

This does not mean they are not dependent thinkers. They can be an independent thinker just as much as anyone, but they like to see all sides of the story and get input from everyone.

In some cases, the partner is just as intelligent as they are. They prefer to date/marry people who are intelligent and share the same views as they do. They're not all about dull people! If Mercury is stressed ( depending on planet ), the spouse/partner may be deceitful, a liar, or mischievous.

Venus opposed the Asc: No, this does not make one ugly. In some cases, people with this aspect FEEL ugly, but have the confidence to hide it well. People with this aspect are drawn to be friends with others who they feel are more beautiful or more successful than they are. They prefer to be friends with the RIGHT people. They prefer to be with beautiful or successful people.

There is elegance and tact with people who have this aspect. They are sometimes shy, but know the right things to say to people and at the right times. They are generally liked, but that is only because they sometimes keep themselves back from doing what they really want to do. ( There is a slight submissive streak, since there is a strong approval from other people ).

Many people are drawn to their good manners. They are polite.

In love, they are very giving and dote on their partners. They are good loves themselves, showering the partner with love and affection. Sometimes when a partner is not up to their standards they are very hurt.

In other cases, the partner is gracious, successful, or beautiful in his/her own way. Or has a pleasing and cooperative personality. Another way this can manifest is having a creative or artsy husband/wife.

Mars opposed the Asc: Even if these people aren't overly aggressive on the outside, there is something about them that annoys other people. ( Most of them don't know it themselves! ) There might have been issues where they said the wrong thing at the wrong moment, looked at someone the wrong way etc that could have caused other people to snap or bully them.

These people are fiercely independent though. Especially when it comes to relationships. They need their personal freedom to do what they want. In some cases they might be seen as selfish. Conflict can come because of their need for freedom. Conflict might not be so bad as long as they are tactful when they say they need space as opposed to forcing it.

These people are able to stand their ground, even if they appear submissive or passive. They do have a fighting spirit that can be unleashed when it needs to be unleashed. Especially when it comes to what they want to do in life, they can be very defensive.

As for the partner, he/she can be assertive, direct and blunt. He/she may be independent as well. If both are able to handle Independence needs, all should work well. If Mars is making square aspects, there may be frequent conflicts and arguments. Or perhaps the couple just likes to argue for fun.

Jupiter opposed the Asc: These people are generally good natured individuals who want to see the best in people. They are highly idealistic, giving, and know how to have a good time. Well, at least most of the time.

Their idealism shows the most when it comes to other people. This is not the same as Neptune's idealism. These people give their best friends, colleagues, and partner the benefit of the doubt sometimes. They are usually very forgiving towards their partners especially, but are not blind. There are second chances, but not fifth chances.

In some cases, people with this aspect like to hang out with people who can help them in some way ( for a cause or for a career ). May see people as tools rather than human beings.

In love, they are giving and jubliant. When crossed, they may come off as condescending and like they know it all. In most cases, they are out to have a good time and will spend a pretty penny on the one they care deeply about. Usually the partner should have the same philosophical and moral beliefs. The native prefers other idealists.

The partner may also be a Jupiter type as well... someone out to have a good time and be optimistic and jovial. The partner might also be a philosophical type, a wise woman/man, or one into academia or law. If Jupiter is afflicted or if the person is unlucky, the partner may be lazy, self-righteous, and arrogant/intellectual snob.

Saturn opposed the Asc: This is usually not the easiest aspect in the world. People with this aspect come off as cold and aloof, but mostly because they are introverted. There are trust issues and self esteem issues floating around. The person doesn't want to meet new people because they are afraid that they will be perceived as weird or not cool enough to fit into the group. At school or work, these people might be seen as stuffy or snobby, or icy. There is a detached nature about them, but it's only their outer shell. It is how they react to the world.

Most people do not go out of their way to know this individual either. That is mostly because again, they may appear snobby or simply uninterested.

Problems when finding a partner may arise due to this detachment. Especially with women, with cultural expectations of women being emotionally open, sociable and chatty. Men may see a woman with this aspect as uninterested and icy. Men with this aspect, too, may have a hard time with women. They may not know what to say or have their foot in their mouth.

Nothing is ever the end of the world. Once they meet the right person, they are devoted and loyal. These people are not fond of PDA, but will show you affection in private. They may have a hard time with "I love you" preferring to show love via action rather than words. As long as the partner understands this, the better the relationship will be.

However, if a relationship does not work out for them, they are able to leave. It is extremely hard for them to leave, but they'd rather be unattached and happy, rather than attached and unhappy. They are level headed.

In other cases, the partner may be level headed and practical. In some cases, he/she might not be affectionate enough or overly restrictive/structured.

Uranus opposed the Asc: These people are extremely independent, but are able to commit to someone who is like them and gives them the space they need to explore. In some cases, the person feels trapped in a relationship and may feel that relationships are the only way blocking them to the life they really want. In other cases, people with this aspect may actually be ready to settle down, but finds a person who wants more independence than they want to give. The best approach is to find a moderate, healthy balance of independence and together time, and that is to find the right person willing to give it to them.

These people may/may not be quirky or bizarre in the traditional Aquarius sense. The big thing about these people is that they aren't fan of authority or society. They are distrustful of society and authority, seeing society as trying to pin people down into special little categories.

These people need to be themselves in a relationship or it won't work out. Some people with this placement are independent, but still able to maintain a committed relationship. However, the key here is that the partner needs to accept him/her as who he/she is. People with this aspect want their own lifestyle and anyone who tries to anihiliate that, is in trouble.

These are usually the people who either: 1. resist marriage ( or never marry at all ) until later in life; over 35 or so. 2. Marry extremely young on a whim, but later regret it. 3. Marry whenever they want, but may have a non traditional married life.

The partner is independent like they are. He/she should be the type of person who is genuine and tolerant. If Uranus is afflicted, the partner might want too much independence, be too aloof/cold, or is unstable/unreliable.

Neptune opposed the Asc: These are highly creative and artsy people who like to help others. With Neptune on the DC, it is likely they do not know who is their true friends and who is not ( until something really bad happens when they have a reality check of who their true friends are ). It is also likely they are very fanciful and idealistic when it comes to boyfriends and girlfriends, often being disappointed in relationships.

They will need to know reality. They can not trust everyone they meet. People with Neptune here are very sensitive to the feelings of other people. They badly want to be liked and appreciated. They do not want to hurt anyone's feelings or make anyone mad at them. Sometimes they help people who do not deserve to be helped and they get screwed over. This can be a fake friend or a bad boyfriend/girlfriend.

Until then, they need to understand themselves, what they want, and to see people as who they really are. Once they do that, they will have a clear picture of who is good for them and who their true friends are.

Romance is fine. Idealizing romance is fine, but not when they are putting their partner on a pedestal. It is very easy for them, since they are very romantic. Romance always has its place, but so does reality.

They need a partner who is sensitive to their needs and looks out for their wants. That is because they dont' always voice what they need and want. A healthy balance between self and others will need to be practiced. The partner should also have a fertile imagination and be creative.

In negative cases, the partner might be unreachable, on drugs, or deceitful.

Pluto opposed the Asc: These people want to form deep, meaningful contacts with their close friends or relationships. It is likely that they have intense and emotional bonds with all their close contacts. When first meeting someone ( like on a first date ), they might make the other feel intimidated or uncomfortable with probing questions. Some may feel like the native sees right through them.

These people are either attracted to powerful and charismatic people, or powerful and charismatic people are attracted to them. Either way, there is usually some degree of power in their relationships.

In negative cases, they are controlling and possessive in relationships, afraid of rejection and insecurity. Or they are in a relationship where their partner is manipulative, controlling and emotionally ( or physically ) abusive.

In more positive cases, their relationships are transforming both to themselves and the other person. They learn more about themselves and their psychology from their relationships. They are able to "fix" what is bad about them and transform into a new and better person. They are able to grow via relationships and learn.

There is the capability of helping and healing other people, molding other people for the greater good and for change in society. Pluto represents power, power and the misuse of it.

Pluto: Destruction, Power, Transformation, Corruption... And Harry Potter!

I saw the final installment of the Harry Potter movies yesterday; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two. I’ve been reading the Harry Potter series since the young age of 10 and never bothered to analyze the stories until recently. When I was watching the movie yesterday, I had an AHA! moment. Pluto and how it relates to astrology came into my mind, and I saw a connection of that in the Harry Potter movies and stories in regards to Harry Potter and Voldemort.
As we all know, Pluto is often feared by people. People get their pants in a bunches when they find out they have a Pluto aspect to personal planets, or if they have a Pluto-Mars or Pluto-Moon transit coming on. In astrology, Pluto represents destruction, corruption, power, sex, the dark side of human nature, taboos, the occult and most importantly death. However, Pluto also is associated with rebirth, compassion, transformation, penetration and depth, insight, and devotion. Pluto is associated with the sign of Scorpio and its natural house is the 8th house.
In Harry Potter, we all know about You-Know-Who… a.k.a. Lord Voldemort. He’s the super bad wizard who gets a following known as Death Eaters. They do all kinds of horrors and terrors, turning the wizarding world upside down. Turning the wizarding society upside down, all for Voldemorts gains for power. Often, Pluto in signs often turn our own societies upside down and then we must find an outlet for transformation to change ourselves for the better.
When Voldemort tried to kill Harry Potter ( after killing his parents, of course, on Halloween ), his spell backfired. He was turned into nothing and disappeared for years. Harry was left with a scar on his forehead. This scar had a part of Voldemort’s soul in it, which meant Harry knew what he was feeling and how he was able to talk to snakes.
In the stories, Voldemort had many horcruxes. IN each one, he had a part of his soul in it. This kept him alive and well. Harry Potter and his pals would be sent on a mission in the later stories to kill these horcruxes and then kill Voldemort himself. Aside from that, I’m coming to my point… Voldemort is afraid of death ( Pluto ) and keeping his soul in these objects to keep him from death. They keep him powerful ( Pluto ).
Voldemort is the traditional “dark wizard.” He is ALL about the bad side of Pluto; he had a bad childhood and decided he would take over the world because of it. Great insecurity; great fear of failure. Voldemort was known from a young age he was special; he had great abilities and great power. When he was a teen ( if you read the second book ), you’d see a more charismatic, powerful and devoted wizarding student. You’d know Voldemort ( at the time Tom Riddle ) would be a powerful wizard, but would he use his powers for good or for evil?
Anyone who has read the books or seen the movies knows the answer to that. He used his powers for evil and had an aspirations for dark magic. Forbidden magic. He was interested in bringing people back from the dead. ( Even when Harry Potter mentioned something like that in the earlier books when he was younger, people gasped and said that was dark magic talk. ) Basically, you know, Voldemort creates a following ( Death Eaters ) and they do all sorts of horrors. Voldemort keeps himself in power through manipulation and control. He destroys followers who betray him ( Pluto ).
At the very end of the series, Harry Potter knows he must die in order for Voldemort to die since a part of Voldy’s soul is inside of him. I see this as the rebirth part of Pluto. Harry chooses to go back to life and fight the rest of Voldemort ( by killing his snake, the last horcrux ).
Harry Potter, like Voldemort, had a lot of potential and a lot of power. Just like Voldy, Harry was deemed as special ever since he found out he was a wizard. Over time, he grew more confident ( and other times arrogant ). I’ve never always liked Harry’s attitudes in some of the books, but I felt he was an O.K. guy with potential.
When Harry first went to Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat wanted to put him in Slytherin. Harry was told he would do well in Slytherin. If Harry chose Slytherin, I am sure he’d gain ambition, a lot of friends and could be a high position of power someday ( or be a Dark Wizard like Voldemort ). However, Harry did not want to be in Slyherin because he heard bad people were in it. He wanted to be in Gryfindor so the Sorting Hat put him in there.
Harry, I believe, was at crossroads during his time at Hogwarts especially in the beginning. He could choose to either be a powerful dark wizard or a powerful defender wizard. He held a grudge against Voldemort for killing his parents, so I believe this has helped him from going to the “Dark Side.”
Basically, Harry Potter represents the other side of Pluto, when power is used as a more positive outlet. Harry Potter was a person of power at Hogwarts; he held the DA ( Dumbledore’s Army ) and was able to influence other students to his cause. At the end of the series, he had the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in the world. He broke the wand to its pieces, showing he had no desire to be the most powerful wizard.
Harry was able to defeat the darkness and help transform/rebuild the wizarding world. Without him, there would be no hope.

Thoughts on astology

A question I ponder a lot is whether I should take astrology seriously, or use it for fun and for my own learning adventures. I think a lot of thinking people may find themselves at crossroads when learning astrology: Well, astrology isn’t based off of concrete science, but why do I find through observation ( in myself and others ) that some of the characteristics are true?

I’m pretty sure there have been studies that have shown that people are not like their sun signs. I am not surprised by the evidence. I have seen some people who are just like their sun signs, but many many many more people who are not like their sun signs. In fact, I think my Sagittarius-ness comes out in 9th house ways. That is where my Sun and Mercury fall in.

However, I do not think that astrology can be disproved or proved when you look at the actual study of astrology. This means the natal chart in great great detail ( in which you can not take bits and pieces; you must look at in the WHOLE and see the connections ), progressions, solar returns, transits, and a bunch of other stuff, like solar arcs and midpoints. I honestly don’t even understand midpoints. And don’t forget synastry. That is why a Cancer sun guy and a Sagittarius sun girl can get along, but they have other things going on that helps them.

Someone asked me a question on one of my old posts about what I think about astrology and the scientific method. I just now saw it. Unlike Facebook, Tumblr does not notify me when any of you post on my blogs. Anyway, I think it would be easy to observe astrology by yourself and others. You can form a hypothesis, like about what aspects can predispose some people to eating disorders. What you’d have to do is compile charts of women and men who have had any form of eating disorder and see if there are any correlations. You’d have to get a lot of charts. Astro.com has a databank. Astrotheme has celebrity databanks and many of those people have had issues.

I think using the scientific method for this is more like using it for psychology. And of course you’d need other people to do the same thing as you.

All in all, some people “believe” in astrology via faith, much like they do for religion. Other people believe in astrology from observation and studying.

Most of my knowledge comes from talking to other people who know more than me, reading books, and online websites ( that are decent, in my opinion. ) Not all websites on astrology are good, though. I take what I read and put it into my own words, in a way I can understand and I think other people can understand.

Some other thoughts on astrology…

1. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people on Yahoo Answers want to know something about themselves and they only list their sign placements. They will give a list of their Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn with the signs and nothing else. I can’t tell what the problem is without them posting the actual chart. I mean, it would even help a lot of they posted the house placements too. But they don’t. I can’t tell in your chart why you don’t want kids by posting the signs, or why some people are overly emotional and attached, but still have an air dominated chart. You get what I’m saying. Post the chart and people who actually know shit can help you.

2. Another thing I hate is sun sign compatibility. That tells you nothing. You have to look at synastry. For beginners, that is hard to understand, but you must first learn a natal chart before diving into synastry. Just because she’s a Scorpio and he’s a Gemini; doesn’t mean it can not work out. And even in synastry bad aspects can be overshadowed by more positive ones. Let’s not forget something human; free will.

3. I think astrology is mostly harmless as long as you use it the right way. When the wrong people use it, they will use it to degrade/stereotype other people. Plus, the only people who really do that are the ones who go by sun signs alone, or even moon signs, and rising signs. Of course, there are people who will use aspects and house placements that way, but I think those people just suck and are mean spirited.

Another thing I want to add is that sometimes when you go too deep into astrology, you begin to rely on it. Even if you know quite a bit on it, you might see a few bad synastry aspects between you and another person. Soon enough, you might find yourself into a self fulfilling prophesy. I say this because you see the bad aspects and then tell yourself “I knew this wasnt’ going to work out all along.” A more mature person will see these bad aspects as a time for growth and to better themselves and the other person. Sometimes square aspects can be okay in relationships. And sometimes they are needed.

4. I use astrology for fun and learning adventures. I do not care if people take it seriously, or just dive superficially into it. We all have our own interests and things we like to learn. Some people like to learn about paintings, or like to learn about psychology. If you do not take it seriously, then that is your choice, and that is fine. If you want to learn about astrology, then that is fine also. You can learn about whatever you want.

Aside from astrology which is my only “occult” interest, I draw the line with religion. I’m Atheist-leaning Agnostic. I also draw the line when someone on Yahoo Answers asks, “Which placements have the most testosterone?”

CONJUNCT THE ASC

Hey, babes.

I haven’t written in about a month due to not knowing what to write about, and general busyness of everyday life from friends, boyfriend, and work. Pretty soon I will be back in school too.

Today I am going to write about affects of the planets when they are conjuct the Asc. Lets RECAP here: When a planet is conjunct the Asc it is 8 degrees or less. The closer the orb, the more intense the conjunction is. Nonetheless, a 7 degree conjunction is still a conjunction.

Also, keep in mind that if you have more than one conjunction, my descriptions will be a bit modified too. Your rising sign and planets in the first house will also modify my descriptions.

Astrology isn’t all cookie cut. It’s quite complex, and you need to put the two together.

Sun conj Asc: The ego and mannerisms/outside self are infused together. Put it this way; you’re ( mostly ) “what you see is what you get.” You’re the type of person who knows you you are, what you’re good at and what you’re not good at, and you know what you deserve. Basically, you know who you are on the inside and outside. This brings you confidence. People like you because of this confidence. People like you in general.

This does not automatically make you outgoing or sunshiney. This may be true if you have a Leo sun and asc, but if you have a Pisces sun and asc, or Cancer sun and asc, this will be different. However, whether you’re a loner or bubbly person, you know who you are and what you’re all about. If you’re a Pisces or Cancer for example, you’re not a doormat. You’re able to stand your ground when there are obstacles. You do not fall into others wishes easily because you know who you are and what you stand for.

In some people, this placement can make them appear arrogant. In others, they are just confident and secure. Overall, I’d rate it as a good placement, since the ego and outward personality are aligned.

A secure person, unless something is seriously wrong elsewhere in the chart.

MOON CONJUNCT THE ASC: You might find that your moon sign may be very prominent in your personality. That is because it’s conjunct your rising sign, and may very well be in the same sign.

Put it this way; you’re an emotional person. We’re all emotional, but you SHOW it. You live your life via your emotions. You wear a different colored mask everyday, or every few hours depending on how moody you are, revealing us your emotion. In fact, you live your life in color. People can generally tell when you’re sad or happy, or any other emotion. It is hard for you to hide your emotions, even if you TRY to hide them!

Depending on the sign of your Moon will show how this comes off. Obviously an Gemini moon person is going to be a little different than a Cancer moon person. The Gemini moon person might not be quite as showy in their display of emotion, but may happily discuss the emotional nature with other people. They may talk about their emotions, but aren’t showy in their display. A Cancer moon person may be moody at times, and you can tell when they are down in the dumps easily. On the other side, a Leo moon person will be quite colorful indeed, showing excitement and drama wherever they go. Aries moon will more than likely get angry quite often. Moon in Aquarius may show in their personality an analysis of their own emotions.

Children may be attracted to you, whether you like it or not. They may assume you’re nurturing and kind, even if you do not personally believe you are nurturing. Women may feel comfortable with you. This can be good if you’re a man.

Mercury conjunct the Asc: Communication comes easily to you, whether you’re a Scorpio rising or a Libra rising. Your communication/learning style is infused with your outward personality/mannerisms. Therefore, you make it in your personality to be learned, well informed, logical, and analytical. People think and know you are an intelligent, informed person.

Emotions may be fuzzy to you. When you’re dealing with the outside world or personal acquaintances, or people you know but not too well, you prefer to keep a distance, analyzing them. Even if you’re a very sensitive and emotional person, you feel this is the best way to approach the world. You can turn separate emotions and logic from one another.

Generally speaking, you might have been a “teachers pet” when you were younger. You saw the importance of school and learning, and may have been anal in early childhood with school work. Depending on sign will show your academic subjects you were excellent at, or cared most for.

Short trips and journeys are fun to you. You are restless and do not like to sit still, especially if you have a Sag Mercury and rising, or even a Pisces Mercury and rising. You like to constantly be thinking or doing things. Your mind ever shuts up. Depending on the sign, you may be diplomatic or overtly blunt.

VENUS CONJ THE ASC: People associate this placement with physical beauty. Yes, you can be physically beautiful, but this also can manifest in a way that you have a pleasing and beautiful outward personality. Generally speaking, this placement is probably better off in women than men due to society. Cooperation, tact, good grace, style, elegance, etc are usually associated with women than men. Men with this placement are not “girlie men” in most cases, but they do have pleasing personalities. These are not men who get into fights, or act in craziness. They might also attract lots of women.

Most oftenly, in both sexes LOL, this manifests in having a “pleasing personality” like how I explained before. Some people with this placement are outgoing, sociable and are socially smart. They know how to dress and present themselves. They are usually likable, but sometimes seen as superficial or fake. ( Unless there are other factors in the chart, or if Uranus is making aspect to the Asc too )

Romantic personalities. Wanting romance. Flirty.

Mars conjunct the Asc: This aspect can make a Pisces rising seem less vulnerable. Again, like the Venus one, this placement ( according to society, NOT ME ) is better off in men than women. Only because Mars traits are associated with men, and Mars traits in women are sometimes looked down upon. However, women with Mars traits are generally more accepted ( and wanted ) than men with some Venus traits. That is a sad and unfortunate truth about AmURican society.

These people will find that their Mars sign is prominent in their charts. They get angry and frustrated easily, and might have bouts of road rage or any other stupid stuff. In Aries, they may get a speeding ticket. In Pisces, they may get pissed and turn to weed.

Assertiveness or aggressiveness ( depending on Mars sign and aspects ) is in their personalities. A Pisces rising, like I said before, might be less vulnerable than without the Mars conjunction. However, it adds assertiveness especially if Mars is in Aries or Aquarius. A Mars-Asc conjunction in Aries or Leo has potential for being aggressive, but not always.

These people always seem like they are in a rush. They are impatient, sometimes rude ( but don’t always mean to be ), and like to have their way. These are people who may get pissed easily, but also get over it easily. Grudges are usually not held. You usually know their motives, as they are straightforward individuals.

Can indicate a likelihood of sports or fitness activities.

JUPITER CONJ THE ASC: Nahhh this doesn’t automatically make you fat. Some people with this placement may overeat and overdrink, thus getting fat. However, anyone needs to watch out for that, not just people with this placement.

However, Jupiter does represent expansion. So expanding yourself might be a problem. This can come in the form of food or drink, but also in the form of partying or shopping. Overextending yourself can be a problem, especially if you get yourself into debt.

Expanding onself is not always bad when done in moderation. This is the person who is all about trying new ethnic and novel foods. They get bored easily, so they constantly need stimulation. These are the people who like to have a good time. They like good food and good music. They are friendly and jubilant. They like to laugh. They like to make people laugh. They like to smile and see other people smile.

In some people, this can come off as arrogance. Especially when it comes to lifestyle, intellect or religious ( or lack thereof ) views.

Travel is an interest. Need to be moving a lot.

Saturn conj Asc: Does not make you ugly. Get that out of your head now.

Saturn is inhibiting and restrictive. Therefore, these are reserved people. They are not the life of the party. They will go to a party, but aren’t the one dancing on the pool table or running around naked. These people are usually liked by bosses and other authority figures, because they seem so responsible and level headed. These are also not people to explode in any negative emotion. They have good self discipline.

Possibly of social anxiety, but more than likely the person is just a loner or introvert. These people may not always care what they wear, just preferring a tshirt or jeans, OR they look professional and polished. Style may be elegant, black-white, and considered “boring” by more outrageous people. Elegance to some of these people.

Some people, esp women, may be self conscious about how they look. This can create extremes in how they eat, or consume drinks/food. Saturn is very socially conscious, and these women know what they look like and what they aspire to look like. They are perfectionists.

Independent and self reliant.

Uranus conj the Asc: There is something very distinct about how these people look or come off. It may be their hair, clothes, or how they present themselves. They can be either cold/introverted/weird, or outgoing/crazy/weird. Weird may have a bad connotation. Perhaps I should say quirky instead?

These people may seem abrupt and others may not understand their ways. But their ways are highly rationalized, much like the Aquarius rising. Anything weird they do is rationalized. There is a reason for their madness. Madness is thought and pondered over.

They seem friendly but in a cool way. Some people with this placement may seem cold and bizarre, but others can be very friendly. Never overly friendly, but a happy distance friendly.

People with this placement are fiercely independent. When they were little, they probably resented being told what to do. When they were learning to be potty trained, they probably wanted to do it themselves first. They resent anyone taking away their freedom.

Neptune conj the Asc: This may be similar to Pisces rising, but not exactly the same. Neptune itself is associated with deception, illusions, yet spirituality and creativity.

These are the people who are not always what you see is what you get. Some people with this placement are deceptive, showing people what they want to show or what they want to see. They show their true colors once you get to know them. However, not all of them are deceptive. Sometimes they just come off as nicer than what they really are, or weaker than what they really are. Some people just come off as innocent. That is an illusion and they may/may not realize this.

These people come off as nice or kind. Sometimes it is genuine and sometimes it is not.

Creative. Sensitive. Musical. Artsy. Absent minded. All words to describe this placement.

This placement may make someone seem unreliable. Perhaps people with this placement might be late to engagements at time because they loose track of time quite a bit. They may not purposely be unreliable, but don’t always realize what they do.

This placement is also associated with people who have stalkers, esp in females. It can make them appear very feminine, very sexy, very vulnerable, very emotional etc and this can be appealing to weird men who want to harm them. This does not mean you’re going to get raped, but perhaps you had weirdos in your life that you’d rather not be there.

I suggest martial arts.

Pluto conj the Asc: These people come off as intense. That is the best way to put it. They may not always appear nice at first, but intimidating and a “dont mess with me” look on their face. You might feel like they can see right through you.

There might be something mysterious about these people. They are unlikely outgoing, but rather a loner or introverted type. In other ways, this can manifest n an outgoing type of person who has a lot of power and prestige. Some celebs with this placement have people who are downright obsessed with them and what they do.

There is a sexy aspect to this placement. These people might come off as sexy without even trying to, or trying. They might get suggestions they do not really need or want.

Some people with this placement might have power oozing all over them. They have influence, even if they are a but a child. It is easy for them to get their way and what they want. They are determined and forceful.
