Rising sign fun: Aries and Taurus rising

In this series, I am going to go through the rising signs. Our rising sign is a degree that is at the beginning of our first house. The sign that is at the beginning of our first house cusp is our rising sign. It represents our outward persona, sometimes a "mask", our personality, our mannerisms, the way we present our self and dress ourselves, etc. It is how we react to outward stimuli. It is us on a regular basis.

Aries Rising: Aries rising people are rather quick in their mannerisms. They may walk fast and/or talk fast. It seems they do everything fast and then get annoyed if other people are not as quick as they are. Aries rising people either come off as: 1.  very outgoing and sometimes outrageous; in your face and blunt. 2. a fiery independent loner. This is the quiet boy/girl who seems to have a knack for doing the extreme. They may be quiet, but have no problem racing a car or doing an extreme sport.

Some of the men and women with this placement are into sports or play sports themselves. They like to have a good time and you might find them eating spicy foods. Generally they like to have a spicy sort of life. They are seen as doers; they get the job done. Employers like that, but some Aries rising peeps might get themselves into trouble with employers. They state what they think and want, and a good thing is that they can stand up for what is not right. More strict employers will not like the Aries rising attitudes towards them.
This is an active placement. People with this placement are active people. They like to be outdoors and doing things. They are not fake people. They are genuine and you know where you stand with them.

How Aries rising is modified: Mars in the houses:

Aries rising, Mars in the 1H: Despite what sign the Mars is in, Mars here adds even more action and activity than Aries rising alone. A good placement for being in a sport or activity. Adds the need to be active and being outdoors. Adds more bluntness. Very Aries-ish Aries rising.Aries rising is a dominant place in their persona. May be more Aries than other Aries rising people. Aggressive or assertive, a doer, outgoing, etc.

Aries rising, Mars in the 2H: Adds a need for financial security. These people know what they want in life and how to get it. Generally, they are good at making money. However, they may be selfish with their money and possessions. Kids with this placement freak out when a friend of theirs wants to play with their toys.Person's Aries rising comes out in 2nd house matters. Having a living is important to these people and having money. They like to spend money, but learn how to be good with it.

Aries rising, Mars in the 3H: Adds more mental stimulation. Aries rising comes out in third house matters. This is the same as one's 1st house ruler in the 3rd house. Persona comes out in writing, communication and education. Early education is important for these people. They possibly saw competition in the classroom. They wanted to be the best or to shine. However, there may not be focus. They may not always want to finish homework or school work, but are intelligent and sharp people.Very blunt tongue. Communication is short and to the point.

Aries rising, Mars in the 4H: Aries rising people with this placement are more family oriented than other Aries rising people. This does not mean they are any less independent, but they value family, the mother and emotional security more than most Aries rising people. However, there may be frequent fighting in the family. Not necessarily violence, but general arguing. Mars gets over things fast and perhaps these arguments are rather stupid. As a child, they might have been competitive with other siblings. Competitive over mom or dad's attention.
Aries Rising, Mars in the 5H: Adds even MORE activity to this placement. The 5th house is all about hobbies, romance, love affairs and children. These Aries rising natives are likely find fun in running, sports, swimming, or the outdoors. They LIKE to exercise. Exercise is fun to them and a way to self-express themselves. These people are in and out of love affairs. They are casual daters. These people may not want children when they are young. They may or may not like them, but children are drawn to their child like and fun personas. They have an upbeat attitude that kids like.
Aries rising, Mars in the 6H: Adds a business to your persona. These people are definitely doers. They like to keep themselves busy with school work, house work and generally work they do for money. They are more perfectionist in their work. They like their work to be perfect and efficient. They may be hard on people who are not at to their speed. Might be demanding as an employee especially towards other co-workers. These people can be bossy and may not be liked at work. However their co workers follow commands.Work is an important aspect to these people's personas.
Aries Rising, Mars in the 7H: These people are not as independent as other Aries rising. Their personas come out in the 7th house which is all about  marriage, other people, intimacy, open enemies, and best friends. Relationships are important to these people, like anyone who has their rising signs' ruler in the 7th house. However, there is sometimes a need to dominate other people or boss them around. All the same, people are an important factor in their lives, and they do care about the people in their lives. They just need to learn to be less bossy or demanding.
Aries rising, Mars in the 8H: Adds a need for intimacy and sex. These people have very high sex drives and sometimes always need to have it. With Aries rising, they are direct at getting what they want. They aren't going to play games or sneak someone to bed. You will know if they want sex with you because they will hit on you and even ask you for it. Mars is straight up and honest, most of the time.
Aries rising, Mars in the 9H: Like the 3H, adds mental stimulation. Aries rising people here might be seen as rather smart. These people are intelligent and independent individuals who value education and university. There is a need to travel. These people dream of going on adventures, especially where they can do fun things like have adventures in the rain forest or have an active vacation in Turkey or Greece. Backpacking through Europe is a good idea. These people want to travel and go everywhere!
Aries Rising, Mars in the 10H: Adds more drive and dedication to a career. These people are hardcore doers and will work their way up the ladder to success, as long as they are focused. They will stop at nothing to get what they want in life, even if it stomps on other people's toes or not. Good placement for a military career, or a career in sports. Even a career in business is good.Career oriented people.
Aries rising, Mars in the 11H: Group oriented Aries rising people, but they generally like to be the leaders of groups. Friends and networks are important to these people. They like to hang with people who are like them: active and fun. Might be with groups who are into sports, military or anything relating to the outdoors. Generally not a terribly humanitarian placement, but some people might be humanitarians. They might be a very outspoken humanitarian.
Aries rising, Mars in the 12H: Adds quietness and introversion to the Aries rising person. They like their quiet time and are loners. However, they suppress their ego drives and their assertiveness. Anger might come out at inappropriate times. While these people may be quick moving or into a sports activity, they are rather quiet and afraid of confrontation. Generally more laid back than most Aries rising people but they are just as independent and possibly more insightful and creative. These people might exercise or do anything sports related for their own self improvement. They are not competitive and might like individual sports.  Like running or swimming.

Taurus rising: Taurus rising people are generally slow to get angry and laid back. They like to be around beautiful surroundings. Taurus rising people are not a fan of messy homes or anything that does not look "good." They are fans of the finer things in life and are hard workers.
Their mannerisms are socially acceptable and they are generally not people who are individualists ( unless there are placements elsewhere in their charts ). They are seen as loyal friends and are sometimes stubborn to a fault. When they make up their mind, their mind is made.

1. These people can be outgoing and sociable with plenty of friends. 2. The 2nd type is quiet and introverted, but more on the shy side. They are generally not loners, but appreciate their close friends and family.
Taurus rising is not a competitive sign. It gets its credibility from being patient and steady.

Taurus rising, Venus in the 1st house: Adds a pleasure seeking persona to their personality. Very Taurusy-Taurus. Love anything beautiful. Loves good clothes and food. These people like to look GOOD. They work hard to look good or have beautiful homes. Have a tendency to be vain especially when young, but they can grow out of it. What is on the surface matters. What people think of them matters.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 2nd house: Adds a need for financial stability and security. These Taurus rising people are not so much into appearance as the first kind, but their money and possessions tell about themselves. What they buy tells about their personality. What they collect or keep in their homes maybe have a story or tells something about their personality. How they make money tells something of their personality.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 3rd house: Communication and learning are important factors in their personality. Good communication skills. Sociable people. Creative and right brained in thinking. Persona is creative, sociable, and tactful. Good at art in school.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 4th house: Highly value family and emotional security. Family always come first to these people. Their persona is loyal and private. They are introverted, yet value close relationships with family members. Blood is thicker than water.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 5th house: Adds more self expression to the persona. More outgoing than the average Taurus rising. More self expressive, either in art, writing or acting. Has lots of casual affairs, because the person values romance. Romantic persona.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 6th house: Adds a work ethic to the persona. These people are sociable and likable at work. They are steady workers who are polite and patient.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 7th house: People oriented persona. Boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives/best friends are important factors in their lives. Sometimes may live life through other person. Marriage and partnership important cornerstone in life.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 8th house: Adds a more intimate and private persona to the personality. These Taurus rising people are very private, yet are very sexual. But they are not going to be open about their sex life. They are also more mysterious than the average Taurus rising. Might have sexiness to them.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 9th house: Adds mental stimulation to the persona. Might be attracted to people who are from far away or attracted to far away places that are very beautiful. Studious persona. Likes to learn especially about Venusian matters, like art or beauty. Might enjoy wearing fashions from other lands, or international fashions. Comes off as smart, yet creative and savvy.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 10th house: Goal oriented and drive personality. Career oriented personality. Public image is important. Comes off as sincere and responsible. Might be interested in Venus type careers, like art, drawing, fashion, being a house wife, cosmetologist, make up artist, interior designer, graphic design, actor/actress, singer, dancer, etc. Serious about career.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 11th house: Friend and network oriented personality, more so than the average Taurus rising. May have more acquaintances than a few true friends. Most friends are made from groups, network, after school club, activities and organizations. Being part of the group is the persona, whatever the group stands for.
Taurus rising, Venus in the 12th house: Adds quietness and introversion the the Taurus rising. These Taurus risings might legitimately be loners. They may enjoy being alone than being with other people. However, this shyness is also correlated with romance. They are sometimes afraid of being rejected or getting close. However, there is creativity here and introspection.

Planets in the 12th house

Disclaimer: the 12th house is the least understood house. It represents the subconscious, dreams ( like when you sleep ), spirituality, enlightenment, your self undoing, psychological problems, emotional problems, your hidden self, things you hide, prisons, mental institutions, craziness, etc.

The 12th house represents many things and with my descriptions, I am not going to encompass all of that. I may only emcompass a fraction or talk about how things could manifest and in astrology, as we all know or should know, things can manifest in many ways.

Sun in the 12H: Your main personality and ego drive is somewhat hidden. Perhaps you hide your true self, whether you like it or not. This is definitely a placement for a shy person, someone who might have low self esteem and may not realize their full potential. You feel out of place in the spotlight and you are painfully shy. If the sun is at a square, then this is all worse. You may not have a good sense of self or who you are, following the crowd or finding yourself in troublesome situations. This is a good placement for being spiritual and/or enlightened. You are generally not a person with a big ego. You can be counted on to be a good friend and you're not egocentric. People appreciate your 'behind the scenes' personality.

Moon in the 12H: This is a very sensitive and intuitive position, but sometimes your emotions scare you. Although you are an emotional person, you HIDE them. This is not the same as Moon in the 8H or having Moon aspecting Pluto ( but you could have Moon aspecting your Pluto too in your natal chart ). As long as you do not have Moon aspecting Pluto or Saturn, you do not hold your emotions in for control reasons. If your Moon makes squares especially to Neptune/Uranus/Pluto, you might find yourself with psychological issues like depression, bi polar, and anxiety. Some extreme areas are if you want to die. However, that is only in extreme cases. With your emotions or if someone tries to be emotional toward you, you may run because you don't want to deal with them. You're afraid of getting close. You might give off an aloof attitude, but in reality, you're far from aloof.

Mercury in the 12H: When you were younger, you might have been shy, but you could have grown out of it. This does not mean you talk little, but you are indeed a listener. A good listener. You communicate with intuition and emotion. You might like to talk about spirituality or dreams. You might find interest in social work, helping people, psychology, spirituality of all sorts, etc. This is also a placement for artistic writing and poetry. However, the 12th house represents what is hidden, too. You might hide your Mercurial talents, out of fear of being inadequate. You could have  a fear of public speaking or writing, but it is something you need to get over, or you already got over it.

Venus in the 12H: This is another placement for someone who could be painfully shy. At least when you're a kid and a teen. Venus represents love affairs, romance, love in general, sociability, what is on the surface, etc. The 12th house is what is hidden. Your romantic nature is hidden. You're afraid and lack self esteem in the romance department. You might not have been kissed until you were 20. You might be a virgin until you're 25. ( Just using those as an examples. Not everyone with this placement will lose their V at 25 ). You might be a sucker for hidden affairs. On a positive note, you are a private person and dislike it when people like to penetrate into your business. You always seem to be secretly liking someone, but you never know how to do it. Unrequitted love. This does not mean you will die alone. You are a late bloomer in love and will find someone once you gain self esteem. You are a partner that can be held in high esteem. You are capable of being an insightful and creative partner.Beauty is skin deep.

Mars in the 12H: By many astrologers and random people, this is not considered a good placement. There are many ways that this can manifest. One: you might be the type of person who tends to be a push over and hold in your angry feelings, even when it is perfectly okay to express them. You are afraid of expressing anger and when it DOES come out, it comes out inappropriately. This is especially true if your Mars is squaring Saturn or Uranus. Second: You are the type of person who is a push over and lacks initiative. Well, everyone knows you have plans, but you never go around to do them. You're afraid of looking people in the eye or going to that job interview. Afraid of doing everything, until you gain some self esteem. You have drive, but don't know how to achieve  your goals. Third: In rare cases, if Mars makes many scares, you might end up in a hospital/prison, or a place like that, for acting out.

Jupiter in the 12H: This is generally a good placement by many people. However, this can be indicative of a push over. You are a good natured person who wants to help the unfortunate, but sometimes people will take advantage of your good nature. Your self undoing comes with the fact you can't say "no" to people.

Saturn in the 12H: You are afraid of losing control. Your self undoing comes from your fear of failure. You want what is best for you professionally but there is always a deep seeded fear of not being good enough. Thoughts can become reality if you keep on thinking negative thoughts. A possible placement for depression and/or anxiety. This can come from feeling not being good enough, or smart enough, or competent enough. You must realize you are competent. This is similar to Capricorn in the 12th house.

Uranus in the 12H: You may hide your originality or uniqueness. Early on in life you might have learned that being different=bad. As you grow older, you might have found you wanted to follow the crowd and not follow the beat of your own drum. You might have been easily influenced by your groups and friends, perhaps doing things you should not have. You have had an irrational fear of being weird or different, possibly being afraid of other people who are different from you. Deep down you know you are unique and you're afraid of people knowing the true you.

Pluto in the 12H: This definitely not considered an oodles of fun placement. You might feel a lot of rage in your life, but you hide it. You're afraid of rage. You have a deep seeded need for control and sometimes this control tears you apart. On the positive side, you might have brilliant dreams and a brilliant intuition. You can see through BS most definitely and hate anything superficial. You are able to heal yourself and other people. You are capable of being a super resilient person.

Planets in the 11th house

The 11th house represents our hopes and wishes as well as humanitarian goals and organizations. ( Think of humanitarian organizations ). It also represents groups as a whole and it also represents friends and networks.
Remember: the 7th house represents your BEST friends. The 11th house represents casual friendships, acquaintances and groups of people.

* Also: If you have more than one planet here, these will be modified. I go by planet to planet basis and am not blending anything together. Sign and its ruler will also show how this house is  manifested and all the other houses. Just thought I’d say that since I’m still talking about the houses.

Sun in the 11H: You might be attracted to people with Sun in Leo, or lotsa Leo in their charts. If not, your friends have a Leo-like personality: Theatrical, fun loving, cheerful, showy, dramatic, yet bossy or dogmatic! You yourself are confident in your goals, hopes and wishes. You might find yourself surrounded by many friends who admire you or you admire them. Your ego and general personality is tied to this house: You  may value organizations and friendships. You might find you are an active member in a group at school or work. You like to be right in the middle or center of a big work/school project! Others admire your charitably and leadership skills. If the sun is afflicted, there may be power struggles between you and your friends; OR you might find your friends push you around too much.

Moon in the 11th house: Generally speaking, your friends are very emotional and moody. This may also be an indication you have more female friends than male friends, even if you’re a guy. ( Certainly not all woman are creatures of emotion, but the Moon does represent women and their periods ). You might have an emotional need to join humanitarian groups or any sort of after school or outside of work activity. You may like to be a service or help others, like helping poor children in your area or working in a soup kitchen for the homeless. You also might be an advocate for women’s rights or children’s rights and join groups for them.

Mercury in the 11th house: You and your friends/group of people might appear “smart” or “brainy” or at least you seem like you enjoy to talk/discuss with each other. You like your friends to be interesting. You like to talk to your friends. That’s what they are for. Discussion, writing, etc. You might belong to education groups or writing groups. Your wishes and dreams are rather logical and unbiased. Perhaps writing or being in some sort of communication can help you spread awareness of social issues that you care about.

Venus in the 11th house: You could have been in a “popular” clique at school, the preppy kids that dressed nice and all hung out with each other. Or you might have been in groups for fashion design, art design, modeling shows ( even if you were not a real model ), etc. Your friends are very sociable and socially acceptable to society. They probably smell nice, dress nice, and all that jazz. You might feel your friends are ‘fake’ and talk only of superficial things. You can use networking to show your art work or poetry, or photography. You have an eye for beauty. You might go to organizations that have an eye for beauty.

Mars in the 11th house: You like your friends to be active and always be doing something. For you, nothing is worse than being around a bunch of people who walk slow or drive slow. Your friends might influence you to do some risky ( or stupid ) things that could get you in trouble or hurt, but you can never pass up a risk unless it’s something you rationalize can not be done. There might be conflict or arguing in your network, but you feel that is how life is. If you’re in an advocate group, you’re the type who is in your face and with a picketing sign. As long as you and your group do not burn someone’s house down or kill anyone, everything should be okay. You might even belong to exercise or sports groups, keeping yourself busy, healthy and active! You might make friends via exercise, fitness or sports. You might advocate to people to exercise more.

Jupiter in the 11th house: You probably have a lot of different friends, but they are more like you than anything. Jupiter has standards and if people do not meet your standards, they might be labeled as “ignorant” or “bigoted.” Jupiter here makes you not enjoy people like that. Your prefer your friends to be educated, intelligent, insightful and knowledgeable on politics and social issues. You might also have friends from other parts of the world. You generally like to join groups or organizations that better humanity as a whole. You might want to join a literacy campaign. Jupiter represents education, much like Mercury. You might want to advocate people to go to college/university and want to see more disadvantaged teens go there. You might not see all the little details. You generally get along with Sag-types.

Saturn in the 11th house: You have very few friends, as you are a shy and reserved person. You prefer few friends to a bunch of fake ones, much like Pluto in the 11th house. If you are a teen or in your early 20’s, you might not really relate to other people your age. You might enjoy being around older people or people of your age that are more mature. Your friends are generally mature and reliable people who want to help you reach your goals in life. You do not use your friends to get ahead in life, as some readings for this placement say. But you want them to be the right kind of people. You don’t want to end up with the wrong crowd and with Saturn, you probably won’t. :-)

With groups, you generally feel a little weird about them. You might join a few groups, wanting to be a part of them, but you never really know the people. Friendship can be tough for you, but as you age, you can overcome shyness.

Uranus in the 11th house: Like Saturn, you have few close friendships, but you do hold a number of acquaintances. You will have friends from all walks of life, whether they are rich or poor. Your friends probably don’t know each other, but you would prefer your friends to be progressive, open minded and not a follower of the crowd. If Uranus is afflicted, you yourself might be the follower of the crowd. Your friends also might be strange or a little weird too if Uranus is afflicted and they could steer you in the wrong path. Use the Uranus individuality and say “no” to something that you do not logically and morally agree with ( Like smoking or doing hard drugs, or sex with someone you do not know ).

You feel comfortable in groups and all kinds. In high school and college, you might have been in many groups, networking with lots of people. You are possibly a humanitarian, but you may not be emotionally tied to them. Generally, you get along with Aquarius types or Air types.

Neptune in the 11th house: Most of your friends are artistic, poetic and like minded. You’d prefer not to be with people who are the complete opposite of you! You either have a LOT of friends or very few. You might have been shy early in life, but grew out of it as you learned self confidence. If Neptune is afflicted, you might be more prone to peer pressure. In groups, it is easy for you to blend in, become one of them, but make sure never to lose your identity.

You highly value friendship, but you might find yourself at the mercy of backstabbing lying friends. Not all people are genuine friends.

Pluto in the 11th house: Like Saturn, you prefer a few REAL friendships than a bunch of fake ones. You probably have few friends and you’re a loner, and you like it that way. Your friends are generally intimate and know you well, and when I mean “intimate” that does not mean sex. Your friendships have been transformational and your friends have been there through your critical periods. You might have been backstabbed by people in the past and you are very selective with whom you hang out with. Not everyone can get into your special group. People have to earn your trust.

You also might want to have a lot of influence in your sphere of friends or any organization that you are in. You like to put your heart and soul in organizations and humanitarian goals, if you do that kind of stuff. If you donate to the poor, you really do, and it’s not so that you look good.

Planets in the 10th house

I’m bored, so I am writing this. Never fear, it doesn’t take me that long.

The 10th house represents our public image, career, the father or mother depending on which astrologer you talk to, ambition, success, worldly view, etc. The Midheaven is an angle in the 10th house.

Sun in the 10H: I know some people with this placement and one is my best friend. The Sun represents your ego and general personality. You value work, hard work, success ( your own terms of what success is, btw ), and a career. You basically know what you want and how to get it. You do not tolerate laziness or people whom you perceive as lazy, or not doing their potential. You know you are full of potential, so you try your best at everything. You know your strengths and weaknesses and you are an overall confident person. ** unless your sun makes some squares.Career wise, this placement does not denote a particular field, but whichever field you choose, you are competent in it with hard work and skill.

Moon in the 10H: My aunt also has this ( and Moon conj her MC ). She’s a housewife and has been for many years. However, she’s expressed that she might sometime want to go back to school and work in some kind of health facility where she helps people. Your public image is that you are very nurturing and motherly. This placement I’ve seen in house wives, but it can also denote a career in health care or any of the “caring” vocations. Nursing, dietetics, nutrition, gerontology, Child Life, child day care workers, or even a professor of some kind of child development class. This might also indicate a career in which is dominated by women, even if you’re a guy. Perhaps a man with this placement might want to be a nurse or dietitian, or even stay at home with the kids. You want your destiny or career to be about helping people, whether it’s strangers or your own family. This is strengthened when your Moon makes an aspect to the MC.

Mercury in the 10H: Your self-image, public image, career should be associated with Mercury: writing, speech, publication, teaching, research, journalism, etc. Basically, whatever you CHOOSE to do for a living will deal with communication. Yes, every job ( even if you’re a solitary scientist who does experiments on your own ) requires communication, but yours even more so. This is a strong indication of someone who is a writer and might even become published, or a journalist. Even a teacher. Communication is BIG in the teaching field. You feel comfortable in a job that requires analysis, details and writing. Basically, what you do is what you know. :-)

Venus in the 10H: This can indicate a glamorous life o f a model, but again, just because you have this placement does not mean you will be one. Venus is all about beauty and when I think of “beauty” a vast array of occupations come to mind: fashion merchandiser or designer, interior designer, hair dresser, cosmetologist, photographer, artist, etc. You make your public statement through beauty or working in the beauty ( or art, or anything related to Venus ) industry. If Mercury is conj the MC or in aspect to your Venus, there might be an indication to be a gossip columnist or write for a celebrity magazine, or a beauty magazine.

Jupiter in the 10H: Jupiter represents expansion. And this can mean many things. You perhaps are interested in a career with travel. ( Air line hostess or working for an air company, or being a travel agent, or whatever ). Your job might take you long distances, or at least you want a job like that. International business might be an interest of a career for you. You like to make your public image be optimistic, philosophical, worldly, fun, and educated. Again, this might even indicate a career as being a professor, a mentor of some kind. “Good fortune towards a career”. Yes, as long as you don’t screw it up.

Saturn in the 10H: This does NOT make it difficult for you to have a career. If you let Saturn restrict you in this area, it WILL. Now this can mean that you are a hard worker and willing to climb on the social ladder. Discipline and focus are a must. Authority people/s like you and you may give a good, responsible example of someone with whom they want to hire. This is a good position to be a scientist, working alone in a lab. You prefer to work alone, not with other people. Having a career in retail won’t suit you very well, but we always work in places we don’t want to for money. Again, Saturn can add doubt. You might doubt your capabilities at some point in life and yes, that will restrict you. But once you know that the only thing keeping you back is you, you can go far in life.

Uranus in the 10H: Authority figures might sense you are unstable. You may or may not be, but a 9 to 5 job is so not for you. You like the freedom to do what you want in a career. Perhaps you want an independent career, starting your own business. Innovation and creation are highlighted here. If you feel stuck in a job, you feel stuck, and you desperately want a way out of it. Like Saturn, this is a good placement for science or anything that requires thinking outside the box. If there are aspects to the Moon, you might want to work for a food industry, creating new foods that are desirable to consumers.I read this is a good placement for an astrologer, too. If you have this placement and love astrology, then this is all good for you.

Neptune in the 10H: You might feel confused about your direction in life and what you want to do. Your public image might be vague, because you jump around from job to job, or career to career. In this case, you might be seen as unreliable, which is not cool. There might be some self-doubts or self-esteem issues here, too. If you are confused about what you want, do some introspection. Figure out what you’re good and what you’re not so good at. It’s good to try different things, or ‘feel’ your way around certain careers. This is an indication of fame ( now don’t get your hopes up, haha ), social work, helping profession, charity work, or perhaps a job you have is working around water, or anything related to water. Neptune has haute culture and low culture. You want to be the “good” side of Neptune.

Pluto in the 10H: Girl, this does not mean you’re going to be a dictator, but I’m sure some of them had this placement. I noticed that a lot of politicians and world leaders have Pluto here. Pluto is a space object ( I don’t want to use planet, because it’s not a planet anymore ) that is associated with power ( both good and bad ). This is definitely a powerful and influential placement, and it’s wise to use it well. Whichever path you choose in life, you will be seen as influential and people will look up to you. Your career can be transformative to you. In your life, you might have completely switched careers all together.

Planets in the 9th house

The 9th house is a “fun” house. It represents higher education, the higher mind, philosophy, religion, learning, open mindedness, foreign cultures, long distance travel, your world view, a broad mind, the big picture, and publication.

Again, if you have more than one planet here, these are going to be modified. I go one by one for simpleness.

Sun in the 9H: Your ego and general personality is tied to this house. You’re very much interested in foreign cultures and travel. You have probably traveled to other countries and if you haven’t, you will someday or you definitely dream about it. You are generally an open minded and accepting person. College/university is very important to you. If you don’t go for a better job, you go for a general joy/love of learning. I read that a lot of pastors/priests/preachers have this placement and that may be true. You might be religious or totally not. ( I am totally not and I have this placement ). Good placement of publication.

Mercury in the 9H: Mercury here gives you a broad mind. When you’re in school or learning something new, then you want to look at the big picture FIRST and then work down to the details. It might annoy you when a professor/teacher wants you to look at the details first and then the big picture. Trust me, it’s easier for me to learn theories/big picture when learning Anatomy and Physiology, and then I go for the little details. There is a joy of writing here. If you write, you might like to write adventure stories or you might enjoy writing academic work. Your college/university is important to you and consider getting a grad degree, if you so desire to. It is easy for you to look at both sides of every issue. You might be bilingual or have an interest in languages. A possible interest is anthropology, or an interest in other cultures. Travel magazines are something you might read. You might get a kick out of the Spanish channel.

Moon in the 9H: Like anything in astrology, things can manifest in many different ways. You might find security in learning or higher education. You might find security in learning about other cultures. You also might find security outside your native home or territory, with a different group of people. You’re open minded generally speaking, but you might be too emotional with regards to your opinions and world view. And this can be any issue or whatever. An example of this is my cousin who has Sagittarius moon in the 9H and she does not always see the objective or logical part of the issues/philosophies. I’m Agnostic and for awhile, she was constantly harassing me on MySpace to “believe in God.” It was annoying, but luckily, she accepted my world view now. Again, this is generally a good placement, but you have to remember now to get worked up when someone believes differently than your own.

Venus in the 9H: Does this mean you will be attracted to foreigners? Maybe. Does this mean you are open minded with love? Probably. This can show a love of travel, whether you travel to Greece or simply to Ohio. ( Haha ). You will find beauty in art, architecture, and in other cultures. If another culture has a right of passage ( in some countries, teenage girls will put all sorts of piercings on their face to show they are ready for marriage ) and you with this placement might see nothing wrong with it. Other people might be like “WTF.” Traveling on a cruise or going to an exotic beach in  Southern European beaches might sound lovely to you. You are generally an open minded person in love and accepting. One way this can manifest is that you might be turned on by those with degrees or who have the smarts.

Mars in the 9H: Others might think you are overly aggressive with your world view. Even if your Mars is in Libra or Pisces, you might be thought of as ‘pushing’ your beliefs down people’s throats. Mars in Pisces might be like, “You’re going to Hell if you don’t believe in God” and they might try to persuade you emotionally to do this. ( If we are going on about religion and yes, 9H is tied to religion. That is why I used religion as an example ). This can go the other way too with Atheism. Basically, you are very blunt about your views and have no problem telling people they are wrong. If your Mars is in Fire, there might be name calling involved, unless you are beyond that. On the other end, Mars gives drive and ambition to learning. You have the drive to finish your degree as long as you are focused. You have the drive to travel and you know what you want and how to get it. Mars in the 9H is not always bad and everyone is different.

Jupiter in the 9H: Jupiter is at “home” here. Jupiter is expansion. You like to expand your mind and you love to learn. Learning brings you joy. You are very open minded, broad minded, BUT you are worse about details than Mercury in the 9H. You might be accused of not seeing the tiny details or loopholes in arguments. This is something you should work on, because we need to have a balance between the two sides. On the plus side, you’re always eager to learn about new cultures and might travel ALL around the world someday. It is possible that you were very lucky in higher education. Due to your love of learning, it should not be too hard and you can always stay motivated. Most of all, the 9th house is what you consider fun.

Saturn in the 9th house: No, this does not make you a Republican. I’m sure there are Republicans ( or Conservatives, if they wish not to be associated with a party ) and others are not. Saturn can add closed mindedness in other people. But Saturn can also add that someone wants proof of something. Like God or even astrology. This placement adds hard work ( good for higher education ), dedication and practicality. This does not mean you are not interested in foreign cultures. But it could mean you might think it’s important to learn about them and if we can incorporate some of it into our own culture. There may or may not be foreign travel. If not, then perhaps you are simply not interested in traveling. However, it does not hurt to open up your mind. Your brain does not fall out. Shows an interest in studying or working alone. A dedicated student.

Uranus in the 9H: You are the type of person who just wants to travel EVERYWHERE and learn about EVERYTHING. Nothing is off limits to you. Paris, hiking in the mountains in Asia, Africa, Australia, etc if you can afford it. Everything is fun and should be an adventure. Good for higher education, as long as you can FOCUS. Generally speaking, you are a smart person ( maybe even gifted ) and you are very knowledgeable on many issues/philosophies. Certainly you are an interesting person to discuss with. You don’t like to talk about something, unless you know what you are talking about. You don’t want to look like an idiot. Logical, yet creative are the key words I have here.

Neptune in the 9H: Unless other factors are present in your chart, you may not be interested in math/science. Religion/spirituality, arts, humanities, dance, philosophy, etc are things you WANT to study. Whether you study these things or not is dependent upon you and how realistic you are in other areas of life. You might be wanting to study philosophy, but know you can’t get a job in it. You may take one or two classes in it, but major in something else completely. And that’s okay. Neptune does not have any boundaries, so this is a great place for foreign travel, or travel in general. You might be interested in how other cultures worship. Again, you might be an Atheist, or you might be Catholic, or you might even be a New Age person. I generally associate this placement with New Age spirituality, though. The ocean or traveling by sea might appeal to you. Think of the warm sandy beaches in the Mediterranean and the beautiful water.

Pluto in the 9H: With this placement, you do not like being wrong or proven wrong. You like to have power and dominance in your world view and you consciously make an effort to get people to believe you. You might be self-righteously about what you believe in and make others feel bad for believing any differently. But astrology can manifest in many ways: You might simply be interested in sociology, government, politics, and psychology. You’re interested in people and how corrupt they are, even if you’re totally not corrupt yourself. You like to know what makes people tick and you take an objective approach to it. This placement might indicate someone who rejects their religion that they were raised with completely and either be an Atheist/Agnostic, or find a completely new religion later on in life.

"New" Zodiac signs. Really?

In the past couple of days, as many of us know, the recent media sensation of zodiac signs. I have been logging on Facebook to see raging people, pissed that their sign changed. As a person who studies real astrology, I laughed. Even I know you can’t define yourself as your damn sun sign. That’s ridiculous. Most people don’t even FEEL like their sun sign.

Anyway, the “new” zodiac is far from new. It’s what is called the Sidereal ( or Vedic ) Astrology. It is commonly used in India and parts of the East, nearly unheard of over in this part of the world. I am aware of my own Sidereal chart, with my Aquarius rising being the same in both charts. In Sidereal, I’m a Scorpio, but I have a Cancer Moon, Libra Venus, Pisces Mars, etc. All my house placements and aspects are the same. Sidereal astrology is based off of what is astronomically accurate, basically. When the constellations move around, Sidereal adjusts for it.

Western ( or Tropical astrology ) does not do that, but it does not make it any less valid. Western astrology is based off of the four seasons. When Cancer is going on in Summer ( late June, early July ) the sun is on the Tropic of Cancer. Actually, it’s hard to explain, but that’s it in a nutshell.

There is not a Thirteenth Sign. Sorry. Ophicous or however you spell it, is an outlier, and the sun does not thoroughly go through it. Besides, if you were even to google it, you’re not going to find anything substantial.
My best advice is to look at your Sidereal chart vs: Western chart and decide which one you like better. Don’t base it off of your sun sign, just because you like one better than the other.

Planets in the 8th house

Hello, everyone. Northeast Ohio ( The Greater Cleveland and Akron areas ) are being pounded with snow. I drove out this morning to the Roads of Death, slide in a circle and turned back to my apartment. I am sorry to say I had to skip my Nutrition Communication and Education Skills class. I never miss class. Boo. I am hoping to make my Gen Organic and Biochem II class. That would be swell.

Driving in a White Out reminds me of the 8th house, because one thing it represents is death, the end of things.

Among others, the 8th house represents sex, the occult, depth, intimacy, probing, investigating, rebirth, transformation, obsession, other people’s money, other people’s possessions and taxes.
The 8th house is a very cool and mysterious house. At any rate, I have Venus conj Pluto in the 8H. Whatever that means, LOL.

Sun in the 8H: Your Sun here ties your ego and core personality to 8th house matters. You are very well aware of sex and power, and how the two tie together. But most importantly, you do value sex and intimacy. You’re not one to give up your power ( sex ) to anyone undeserving. Your life is marked by transformations. If something is not going well for you, it is easy for you to transform your life and work with what you got. You might have a “thang” for power, whether it’s in politics or just in your house. You like control, but that does not mean you like to control other people. If you have Sun in Leo or Libra or any other happy go lucky sign, you might have a darker or more mysterious, introverted thing about you, rather than being sunny and radiant. You are naturally drawn to mysteries, the taboo, supernatural, and psychology.

Moon in the 8H: No matter what your Moon sign is, you’re going to be a deep, yet complex and moody person. On the good side, you are deep and able to probe other people. You know when someone is lying and you don’t take BS. It is like you have great intuition. On the down side, you can be possessive, jealous and moody. Your emotional life has intense ups and downs. You can be real mean when you want to be. If you have Moon in Aries or Sag, you’re likely to have a sharp tongue when you’re moody. It’s best if people leave you the F8ck alone when you’re emotional, despite what your sign is in.

Mercury in the 8H: Your mind is tied to 8th house matters. Perhaps you like psychology, anthropology, criminal justice, anything relating to death and morality, Microbiology ( relating to disease and death ), or perhaps you just like working alone or in a biology. This is a good placement for psychology and indicates and interest in psychology. You like to know what makes people tick and you’re able to probe other people. Another placement is anthropology, which deals with the study of humans and their culture. Anthropology is different than sociology. Anthropology digs deep into taboos and culture, and the deeper meanings of why humans do what they do. Science, relating to Microbes and Biology, indicates an interest here. You might also like learning about the supernatural… ghosts, demons, and things that go bump in the night. You might like learning about astrology or past lives. The possibilities are endless. Your writing style is deep, detailed and eloquent.

Venus in the 8H: Even if you have sunny Venus in Gemini or Libra, you’re likely to have a possessive or jealous streak, even if you try to contain it or intellectualize it. Yes, sign does matter. However, in general, you do not tolerate BS and this can be “good” for marriage partnerships. You might inherit a lot of money, or marry someone with money. Or whatever. You generally know when someone likes you or not, whether or not you act on the intuition. Generally speaking, you are loyal, and if you are not, it’s only to piss the other person off. You can be hot or cold in relationships, but you’re able to switch affection OFF with a switch. There is intensity here, but more so in a Water sign or Fire sign.Taboos are associated with this placement ( like prostitution or being a pimp or porn star ) but also sexual frigidity is also associated with it. 8H does represent extremes.

Mars in the 8H: You have a very high sex drive, and even if you don’t have sex a lot, you think of it a lot. You can be aggressive when it comes to sex and intimacy. You want it when you want it. This is also the deal with power. You like power, sex and money. Again, in society, this placement is more favorable in men than women, but there are women like this. Society frowns upon it. There might be fights over other people’s possessions or you might fight with your siblings when Mom or Dad dies over who gets what.

Jupiter in the 8H: Does this mean you will live a long life? Of course not! But this is “good fortune” or at least optimism with regards to this house. You might be in favorable situations where sexual relations and money relations are fair and just. You might enjoy to expand your mind on 8H matters, like psychology, the occult, death and dying, and rebirth. You might want to learn how other cultures see or view death and the occult. You’re open minded about the occult and the supernatural, but sometimes you may jump to conclusions.

Saturn in the 8H: I bet some people think that if they have this placement, they will die virgins. Well, that is not the case. In astrology, there are many ways things can manifest, but certainly not dying a virgin. Saturn in the 8H can indicate someone who is serious about sex and sexual matters, therefore people might PERCEIVE them as cold or frigid. There might be OCD issues here and if Saturn is paired with the Moon ( and esp if Moon in the 6H ) there might be eating disorder issues. Someone with this placement might have a deep fear of failure and have anxiety over it. There is good deliberation over taxes and money issues. Slowly and cautiously. There might be skepticism over the occult and supernatural.

Neptune in the 8H: Some say this placement might be associated with the supernatural, mediumship, seeing ghosts, spirits, etc. It’s up to you to decide. Anyway, this placement is associated with a high level of intuition. Even if you don’t see dead people, you really know what is up. You can feel energies/vibes from people easily. You can pick up if someone is a threat or not. Maybe if you don’t see ghosts or spirits, you can feel when someone is watching you when no one is there. This is a placement for high creativity and inspiration. You may be interested in poetry, but also interested in fantasy and sci fi. You are a very deep person but you might get your feelings hurt easily.

Uranus in the 8H: Life is just expected for you. You may get into a lot of dangerous and unexpected things in your life. It’s important for you to drive safely, always, and to always be aware of your surroundings. You may also inherit money unexpectedly. There is creative and artsy potential here. There is some intuition and supernatural experiences, but it comes and goes. Sexual style make be quirky. You might have some interesting ways of viewing sex.

Pluto in the 8H: Pluto is at “home” here. These people like control, power, and privacy. They are extremely private about their sexuality… whether they are a virgin or not, how many people they’ve slept with, who they are with, who they like, etc. I know I don’t like people knowing that info about me or not. I’m a very private person about intimate matters. Pluto is all about obsession and depending on what planet it has contact with will show where obsession is at. Pluto-Moon contacts esp when 8H and 6H can indicate an eating disorder or an obsession with food. These people can be obsessive in many areas of life. They generally take no BS and can detect fakeness.

Planets in the 7th house

I hope that everyone had a good new year. And let’s all remember not to make New Years resolutions, because no one follows them anyway.

In astrology, the 7th house represents relationships. It’s known as the Relationships House. If you have many planets here ( more than 2 ), then you highly value relationships ( all kinds ) and this house plays a significant role in your life. The 7th house also represents marriage or marriage like relationships, close friendships, intimacy, best friends, close work partnerships, and open enemies.

Sun in the 7th house: No, this is not exactly like having Sun in Libra, but you do value relationships. They play an important factor in your life. Your ego and core are tied to relationships. You may need to be more independent.  You are confident in your relationships. You may be gregarious and social, maybe even charismatic. In relationships and friendship, you’re the charismatic one, the leader. Or you’re attracted to people who are charismatic, leader-y, gregarious and social.

Moon in the 7th house: Even if your Moon is in Aquarius or Capricorn, having your Moon here produces a need for togetherness, partnership and relationships. You are a very good friend, a person with whom your friends can rely on and tell their innermost secrets to. You have an emotional need for relationships, marriage, and/or close friendships. Your friends are important to you. You want an emotional connection in friendship, marriage, and partnership. You do not like superficiality. Marriage is an important, emotional cornerstone in your life. You want to get married. In friendship and relationship, you are nurturing, emotional and sometimes too touchy or moody. Or you are attracted to people who are like that. Maybe your boyfriend/girlfriend is too moody, or you have a highly sensitive BEST friend.

Mercury in the 7th house: Would you be a good marriage counselor? Maybe. Either way, communication is key to your relationships. You are good at communicating your needs and wants with regards to friendship, love and marriage. You like to be clear where you stand. On another note, you can be analytical and perhaps sometimes intellectualize these things too much. Friends might say you don’t care about their feelings too much. At any rate, you might also be attracted to orderly, analytical and logical friends or people with whom you want to marry.

Venus in the 7th house: Venus is at “home” here. A lot of people like to assume that having this placement automatically means you will get married. Yes, you can get married with this placement, and I am sure you want to get married. However, it does not always mean so. In relationships, you may be flirty, sociable and you know exactly what to say. You are tactful and appreciate compromise. Or perhaps you are attracted to a partner who has good grace, tactful and appreciates compromise.

Mars in the 7th house: “Bossy Betsy!” Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I know people with Mars placements here ( one has Mars in Sagittarius and the other has Mars in Virgo ). Although both do their bossy ways differently, they like to be in control of all their relationships. The one Mars in Virgo lady is called “The Boss” by her husband. The Mars in Sagittarius girl is very very blunt in her relationships, hurting her girlfriends feelings a lot. She also can be bossy towards close family members. At any rate, you might come off as bossy or too demanding in relationships. Or perhaps you are attracted to partners who are bossy and dominating.

Jupiter in the 7th house: Jupiter represents luck, so some people say you could be lucky in friendships and love. I’m not sure if I believe in “luck”, but I do believe in optimism. And sometimes optimism breeds what we perceive as “luck.” Here, you can be an optimistic and generous friend or lover. You like to have a good time, or you like to have a good discussion. You have fine tastes and sophistication. In relationships, you’re fun to be around, interesting and all around cool. Or you’re attracted to people with that reputation.

Saturn in the 7th house: People have an irrational fear when they see Saturn hanging around in their 7th house. Oh my god, people, it doesn’t mean you are never going to get married. Saturn is what you make out if it. Saturn is known for restriction, so this can add introversion to your character. You may find a hard time to get married, but you might later on in life. And some of you might prefer that, to be honest. Also, Saturn here adds DEDICATION. Even if you marry young here, you are dedicated and loyal to your partner. Sometimes Saturn here can be too loyal, but at least you are mature and independent. You might be attracted to someone who is mature ( and “old” soul ), hard working, and competent. You are not a romantic person and you don’t expect your partner to be either. If you’re a woman, this placement can be very challenging, because of society’s expectations for women to be overly flirty, emotional and affectionate. Those may not come easily to you.

Uranus in the 7th house: You may not even WANT to get married. Or at least at first. People with Uranus here either: 1. Never get married, because they don’t want to or they have trouble forming emotional connections. 2. Get married later in life, because they achieved what they wanted to, or they found out how to form an emotional connection. 3. Want relationships, but also have a need for freedom. These people can stay single for long periods of time. Anyway, you are a partner who is freedom-loving and unique. You may look for the same characteristics in someone you date. You don’t want to be smothered, or at least you’re outta here.

Neptune in the 7th house: Neptune has its highs and lows. You are a partner who is spiritually insightful, creative, artsy and high class, or you might be delusional, a door mat, and oversensitive. You might be a person who does not know what you want, or a person is falls for the ‘bad guys’. This can be particularly bad for women, who attract all the wrong kinds of men, because they want someone to save them. For men with this placement, they might find they don’t know what they want, hurting the women who love them by lies and deception. Or this can work in the good way, too. You might have a husband/wife/partner who is sensitive to your needs, creative, and insightful. You two might have a very special bond.

Pluto in the 7th house: No, this does not mean you are a violent person to the people who love you, nor does this mean you will marry a control freak who will beat you. I  mean, it CAN manifest in that way, but remember, there are many ways that astrology can manifest. Pluto is all about control and corruption at its worst, but at its best, it’s all about transformation and healing. You are a partner ( depending on whether you are evolved or not ) who has been through many transformations in your life and learned to go into the depths of the mind. You have a penetrating sensitivity and compassion. Or you might be unevolved, brooding with control and jealousy.
